  • Diverging channel from gas burner exit to the inlet section of Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) has been re-designed for 1 MW system. To improve the uniformity in velocity and temperature distribution of existing design(Case A and B) of 300 kW HRSG system, two additional test geometries have been chosen for the numerical simulation. At first, gas burner exit section has been centered to the inlet section of boiler(Case C) and uniformity has been improved considerably. Secondly, the diverging channel length can be further reduced for compact geometry with new guide vane design (Case D and E). Proposed design shows overall improvement in uniformity in velocity and temperature distribution compared to existing one.

  • An investigation of the ejector-jets focusing on its flow properties was carried out by varying the geometric parameters. The area ratio of the primary nozzle, AR that was tested in the present measurement was 2.17 and 3.18, while the ratio of the length to the diameter of the duct downstream the primary nozzle inlet, L/D had values of 3.41, 6.82, and 10.23. For the frame work of flow characteristics, the wall pressures distribution of ejector-jet was investigated by experiment for basic study of ejector-jet performance. In result, terminal shock location and existence of series of oblique shocks are recognized. In this study, CFD analysis was conducted at the same time. And as a result of comparison experiment data with CFD analysis, the physical phenomena of ejector-jets were estimated.

  • An ejector is designed for the purpose of engine bay cooling and exhaust gas cooling. The primary flow of the ejector is the exhaust gas of the turboshaft engine. The mass flow of secondary flow is calculated by using the approximate analytic equation. For the purpose of verification of approximate method, comparison is made with the results of Navier-Stokes turbulent flow solution. According to the results of CFD, the mixing of two flows is incomplete due to the short length of mixing duct.

  • 본 연구에서는 정4각단면덕트 입구영역에서 층류맥동유동(laminar pulsating flows)의 유동특성을 이론 및 실험적으로 규명하기 위하여, 이론적 방법으로 덕트 입 구영역에서의 층류맥동유동에 대한 운동량방정식을 유도한 후 비선형인 대류항을 선형 화 시켜서 라플라스변환으로 속도분포식의 해를 구하였고, 실험적인 방법으로는 시험 덕트 크기는 횡단면의 가로*세로가 40mm*40mm이고, 길이가 4000mm인 정4각단면덕트 입구영역에서 송풍기에 의한 공기흡입유동으로 층류진동유동을 발생하며 이들 두유동 을 합성시켜 발생한 층류맥동유동에 대하여 열선유속계의 열선신호로부터 얻어진 속도 파형을 고찰하여 덕트내의 맥동유동에 대한 임계레이놀즈수를 결정하고 속도분포를 측 정하였다. 그리고 이론적으로 얻어진 속도분포식과 열선유속계로 측정한 속도분포를 비교검토하여 정확성을 검증하고, 이들 해석결과로 부터 층류맥동유동의 입구길이(en- trance lenght)식을 결정하여 제안하였다.

  • 실제 해양에서 동일 수심과 거리에서 둘 이상의 음선이 교차하여 형성되는 Caustic에서는 고전적인 (classical) 음선모델(ray model)에서 나타나는 무한대의 음압이 아니라 주변지역과 비교하여 다소 높은 정도의 음압을 나타낸다. 하지만 caustic이라 할 지라도 음선들이 도달하는 도달시간차(travel time difference)와 펄스길이(pulse length)의 변화에 따라 음압상승현상의 폭이 달라지며 때로는 음압이 상승이 나타나지 않는 경우도 있다. 본 연구에서는 음선모델을 이용하여 caustic위치를 추정하고 펄스길이를 변화시키면서 신호모의를 실시하였다. 모의결과 caustic은 수렴대(convergence zone) 및 도파관(duct)등 음선이 모이는 곳에 집중되어 나타났고 펄스길이의 면화에 따라 음압이 다르게 나타났다.

An Experimental Study on Acoustic Performance of Splitter Silencers in Large Maritime Gas Turbine Engines (해상용 가스터빈의 스플리터 소음기 성능에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • Based on ISO 7235, an experimental setup to measure the acoustic performance of splitter type dissipative silencers was fabricated. The length of each duct, sound source, microphone locations, modal filter, and anechoic termination were considered in the design of this setup. The modal filter is a particularly important factor because it affects the limit of measurement. The effects of number of splitters, absorptive material density, perforate plate, and media on the noise reduction of the sample silencers were experimentally investigated. The experimental results show that the insertion loss of a silencer with media, high perforate opening, and higher number of splitters increases especially at higher frequencies.

  • This paper represents the cold energy for liquefied nitrogen gas and cascade refrigerator. In this study, the vaporizer of liquefied nitrogen gas has the fin coil tube type with the dimension of inside diameter of 10mm and outside diameter of 12mm. Also, the total length of vaporizer is 20,000mm. The main experimental parameters are the mean velocity in duct and the supplied flow-rates of liquefied nitrogen gas. For the cascade refrigeration system, the refrigerants are ethane(R 170) in the high pressure stage and R 22 in the low pressure stage.

  • Newly updated wing shape to apply small vertical wind turbine is tested with digital wind tunnel in this study. Digital wind tunnel is designed to reduce length of wind tunnel and also to maximize its area of test section. Same DC fans of ninety six are installed in the end side of its rectangular duct and air can be blown out to the other side to have uniform flow with same electricity power. New wing is concluded using experimental plan and analysis with 4-parameters and 3-levels, and tested with digital wind tunnel. It shows better performance in lift to drag ratio, and can applied to the wind turbine for the higher torque and lower thrust.
