장애인용 핸드컨트롤을 이용한 가속 및 제동 페달을 동작할 때의 상지 근육 EMG 분석 및 운전 성능 평가 (Analysis of Muscle Activities and Driving Performance for Manipulating Brake and Accelerator Pedal by using Left and Right Hand Control Devices)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the EMG characteristics of driver's upper extremity and driving performance for manipulating brake and accelerator pedal by using left and right hand control devices during simulated driving. The people with disabilities in the lower limb have problems in operation of the motor vehicle because of functional loss for manipulating brake and accelerator pedal. Therefore, if hand control device is used for adaptive driving controls in people with lower limb impairments, the disabled people can improve their quality of life by driving a motor vehicle. Six subjects were participated in this study to evaluate driving performance and muscle activities for operating brake and accelerator pedal by using two different hand controls (steering column mounted hand control and floor mounted hand control) in driving simulator. We measured EMG activities of six muscles (posterior deltoid, middle deltoid, triceps, biceps, flexor carpi radialis, and extensor carpi radialis) during pushing and pulling movement with different hand controls for acceleration and braking. STISim Drive 3 software was used for the performance test of different hand control devices in straight lane course for time to reach target speed and brake reaction time. While pulling the hand control lever toward the driver, normalized EMG activities of middle deltoid, triceps and flexor carpi radialis in subjects with disabilities were significantly increased (p < 0.05) compared to the normal subjects. It was also found that muscle responses of posterior deltoid were significantly increased (p < 0.05) when using the right hand control than left hand control. While pushing the hand control lever forward away from the driver, normalized EMG activities of posterior deltoid, middle deltoid and extensor carpi radialis in subjects with disability were significantly increased (p < 0.05) compared to the normal subjects. It was shown that muscle responses of middle deltoid, biceps and extensor carpi radialis were significantly increased when using the right hand control than left hand control. Brake reaction time and time to reach target speed in subjects with disability was increased by 12% and 11.3% on average compared to normal subjects. The subjects with physical disabilities showed a tendency to relatively slow acceleration at the straight lane course.

  • 국내 교통환경과 증가하는 사고 상황을 감안할 때, 사고의 인적 요인을 정확히 분석하여 이를 토대로 사고 운전자를 교정 교육할 수 있는 시스템이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 IPDE 기법을 이용한 안전운전과 교정교육을 위한 운전 시뮬레이터 개발 과정 및 결과를 제시한다. 이 운전 시뮬레이터의 개발로 교정교육 대상자는 실제 운전하는 것과 같은 상황에서 운전 적성과 사고 요인을 검사 받을 수 있고, 검사 결과에 따라 운전자의 운전결함을 교정시킬 수 있는 해설 장면을 선택하여, 재교육을 받을 수 있도록 처리함으로써 운전 교정교육에 있어 실제 상황에 대처하는 능력을 높일 수 있게 하였다. 그러나 이러한 최상의 운전 모의 실험기라도, 날씨조건 및 도로조건에 따라서 제동거리가 달라질 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서, 퍼지규칙 및 신경망을 이용하여 이러한 문제점을 해결하였다 시뮬레이션 결과 도로조건 및 날씨 조건을 고려한 시뮬레이터가 브레이크 강도조정이 정확하게 산출 되는 것을 확인하였다.

건강한 운전 자세 특성 연구 (A Study on Characterizing a Healthy Driving Posture)

  • To find a healthy driving posture, in this study, survey and empirical analysis given onto measurement of car-seat angle has been performed. Among 153 male respondents, those drivers who has minimum 5 year experience and 2 hours daily driving has been selected by a multiple screening process. They were further confirmed to have no discomfort history in any body region caused by the driving task. Final 44 people verified that their actual driving posture is not significantly different (p = 0.692) from healthy one they think. And their data, accordingly, the healthy driving postures are clustered based on the same seat-cushion angle, seat-back angle and trunk-thigh angle. Consequently, three seat-angles of the 44 subjects showed a significant difference only with their height information which is the most effecting factor on driving posture among the physical characteristics. That is a first result categorized healthy driving posture classified physical, if it were departmentalized into additional study, could be able to reflected a factor of "healthy" on car seat design.

요부 안정화를 위한 복대형 입는 로봇 개발 (Development of Brace-type Wearable Robot for Lumbar Stabilization)

  • An abdominal brace is a recommended treatment for patients with lumbar spinal disorders. However, due to the nature of the static brace, it uniformly compresses the lumbar region, which can weaken the lumbar muscles or create a psychological dependence that worsens the condition of the spine when worn for an extended period of time. Due to these issues, doctors limit the wearing time when prescribing it to patients. In this paper, we propose a device that can dynamically provide abdominal pressure and support according to the lumbar motion. The proposed device is a wearable robot in the form of a brace, with actuators and a driving unit mounted on the brace. To enhance wearability and reduce the weight of the device, worm gears actuator and a multi-pulley mechanism were adopted. Based on the spinal motion of the wearer measured by the Inertia measurement unit sensors, the drives wire by driving pulley, which provide tension to the multi-pulley mechanism on both sides, dynamically tightening or loosening the device. Finally, the device can dynamically provide abdominal pressure and support. We describe the hardware and system configuration of the device and demonstrate its potential through basic control experiments.

뇌졸중 이후 운전 시뮬레이터와 Dynavision 훈련이 인지 및 운전 수행 능력에 미치는 효과 비교 (Comparing Effects of Driving Simulator and Dynavision Training on Cognitive Ability and Driving Performance After Stroke)

  • 연구목적 : 본 연구의 목적은 뇌졸중 환자에게 운전 시뮬레이터와 Dynavision 훈련의 효과를 인지 평가와 주행 중 운전수행 능력 평가를 통해 비교하고, 두 가지 훈련방법의 차이에 대한 임상적 근거를 제시하는 것이다. 연구방법 : 본 연구를 위해 뇌졸중 환자 21명을 선정하여 무작위로 운전 시뮬레이터 훈련 집단(N=11)과 Dynavision 훈련 집단(N=10)으로 분류하고 각각 15회기의 훈련을 실시하였다. 대상자들의 주행 중 운전수행 능력 측정을 위해 운전 시뮬레이터 시나리오 시스템 평가를 실시하였고, 인지 능력을 측정하기 위해 DriveABLE Cognitive Assessment Tool(DCAT), Trail Making Test-A, Trail Making Test-B 그리고 Mini Mental State Examination-K 평가를 실시하였다. 결과 : 운전 시뮬레이터 훈련 집단은 모든 인지 능력평가와 대부분 운전수행 능력에서 통계적으로 유의미한 향상이 확인되었다. Dynavision 훈련 집단은 Trail Making Test-A를 제외한 모든 인지 능력 평가와 브레이크 페달 반응시간, 중앙선 침범 평균 시간 및 비율, 차선이탈 비율의 운전수행 능력에서 통계적으로 유의미하게 향상 되었다. 그리고 두 가지 훈련의 변화량은 도로주행평가의 결과 예측 지수와, 충돌사고 및 위험상황 발생 횟수에서 유의미한 차이를 보였으며, 이 변수들의 변화량은 두 가지 훈련방법의 적용 차이에 따라 모든 변수가 20% 이상의 인과적 영향력이 있음이 확인되었다. 결론 : 뇌졸중 환자의 운전훈련 방법으로 운전 시뮬레이터와 Dynavision 훈련은 모두 효과적인 중재방법임을 확인하였다. 특히 운전 시뮬레이터는 뇌졸중 환자의 운전수행 능력 전반을 향상시킬 수 있는 효과적인 훈련이며, Dynavision 훈련과는 20%의 설명력으로 훈련효과의 차이가 확인되었다.

수전동 휠체어용 모터 개발 (Development of In-wheel Motor for Power Add-on Drive Wheelchair)

  • The recent power add-on drive wheelchairs (PADWs) provide greater physical activity, are easier to transport, and may be an excellent alternative for the typical manual or electric wheelchairs. The development of in-wheel motor for a PADW is the principal issues. In this paper, design, implementation, and testing of the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) for a PADW are presented. To design output power and torque of the motor, the equation of motion has been investigated. The design parameters were calculated and the dimension and shape of the motor which was limited by the In-wheel mechanism of the PADW were done by applying FEM and optimal design technique. The prototype of the motor mentioned above was fabricated with precise machining and assembling. Then the motor tested on dynamometer and the measured results of the motor were verified by comparing the design results. The fabricated motor was 80 mm in length with a diameter of 110 mm and small enough to be attached the driving unit of the PADW.

척수 손상 환자의 삶의 질 영향요인 분석 (Factors Effect on Quality of Life of Spinal Cord Injury Patients)

  • The purpose of this study is to act nursing intervention strategies to promote quality of life (QOL) in Spinal Cord Injury patients. Therefore, the study is designed to evaluate religion, marital status, educational background economic status, level of injury, voiding pattern, transportation by driving, rehabilitation education, self-concept, sexual status, perceived barrier, powerlessness, depression, hope, social support, self-efficacy, anxiety, ADL, perceived hopelessness, personality and pain for QOL at the same time. It was gathered empirical data was collected using a self report questionnaire from 61 patients during a six month period after SCI at 5 general hospitals, at 2 rehabilitation centers and at 2 rehabilitation schools province from Jun. 18, 1999 through Sep. 28, 1999. The reliability of the 19 instruments was tested with Cronbach's alpha which ranged from .6319 to .9769. For the data analysis a SAS program was used for Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. The results were as follows; 1. The mean of total item score in the QOL scale was 2.814, which showed a much lower score than the cancer points. 2. There was a significant correlation between self concept, transportation by driving, perceived barrier, powerlessness, depression, hope, social support, self-efficacy, anxiety, ADL and QOL.(${\gamma}$= .27~-.79, p< .05) 3. Stepwise multiple regression analysis showed that; a) Depression was the main predictor of QOL and account for 53.7% of the variance in QOL. b) Hope, ecomic status and body satisfaction accounted for 8%, 4%, 3.4% respectively and these variables combined accounted for 69.2% of the variance in QOL. In conclusion, to begin with, it is important to reduce depression and to help for SCI points to inspire hope, economic status and body satisfaction. That will be short cut for nursing strategies to enhance QOL.

재활치료를 위한 능동형 기립-보행 보조기구 설계 방법 (Design Method of Active Standing-to-Walking Assistive Device for Rehabilitation Therapy)

  • Rehabilitation assistive devices not only assist the rehabilitation therapy and daily life of the disabled and the elderly, but also assist the labor of their caregivers, so various functions are required to improve their quality of life. In this study, a design method considering its practicality is introduced for an active rehabilitation assistive device that can perform both standing and walking assistance by driving various actuators. For this purpose, the force required to assist standing was calculated using statics with the body segmentation method. Also, the overturning stability of the device was verified for various physical conditions and postures. The actuator in the active rehabilitation assistive device was operated by a patient using a graphical user interface in an embedded computer and a touch panel for easy usage. The detailed design was performed for implementation through the help of 3D-CAD and the finite element analysis, and a prototype was produced. Finally, it was proven that the design goal was satisfied by experimental validation.

고령자 연령별 반응속도 및 분리집중력 차이에 대한 비교분석: 운전능력 평가도구를 이용하여 (Comparative Analysis of Differences in Reaction Time and Divided Attention with Elderly Age: Using the Driving Ability Assessment Tool)

  • 목적 : 본 연구는 운전능력 평가도구를 이용하여 운전과 관련된 반응속도와 분리집중력을 평가하여, 고령자의 연령대에 따른 평균점수의 차이 분석으로 추후 고령자의 운전위험여부 진단을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하고자 한다. 연구방법 : 본 연구의 대상은 2019년 8월부터 12월까지 강원도 W시에 거주하고 있는 65세 이상 복지관 이용 노인 70명을 대상으로 운전 평가 프로그램을 실시하였다. 1차적으로 운전관련 설문지를 작성한 후, 운전평가도구에 대한 설명을 듣고 반응속도와 분리집중력과제에 대한 평가를 진행하였다. 본 연구의 수집된 자료는 통계프로그램 SPSS 25.0을 이용하여 분석하였고, 유의수준은 0.1로 설정하였다. 결과 : 전기노인의 반응속도 과제에 대한 반응시간 평균은 0.717초, 후기노인은 0.843초로 유의수준 0.1에서 유의미한 차이가 나타났다(p=.084). 분리집중력 과제에 대한 반응시간은 0.669, 후기노인은 0.695로 유의미한 차이가 없었다(p=.901). 결론 : 운전능력 평가도구를 이용하여 고령운전자의 운전 시 반응속도와 분리집중력을 평가할 수 있었고, 향후 운전 평가도구 개발의 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
