  • In order to collect basic information of response behavior of red seabream (Pagrus major) during pilling, works for constructing wind power station in Byeonsan Peninsular, Korea were investigated. Four cultured red seabream CRB1 to CRB4 [total length (TL): 27.1 ± 1.0 cm; body weight: 359 ± 30 g] were tagged with an acoustic tag and used in experiment. CRB1 and CRB2 to CBR4 were released on the sea surface at same time around the constructing site of the wind power plant on September 22, 2017 and July 18, 2018, respectively. The tracking of the CRB1 to CRB2 and CRB3 to CRB4 were conducted for two hours, approximately, using VR100 receiver including a directional hydrophone and VR2W receivers array consisted of 19 presence/absence receivers (VR2W receivers), respectively. The underwater noise level before (no pile driving works) and during pile driving works was measured 116.0-118.0 dB (re 1Pa) and a maximum of 160 dB (re 1Pa), respectively. CRB1 moved about 6.0 km with average swimming speed of 80.2 ± 20.5 cm/s for 2.1 hours without pile driving work. The average water depth of the sea bed on the route of CRB1 was 9.1 ± 0.4 m. CRB2 moved about 7.3 km with the average swimming speed of 96.8 ± 27.1 cm/s for 2.1 hours with pile driving work. The water depth of the sea bed on the route of CRB2 was 11.9 ± 0.6 m. At results of the Rayleigh's z-test two fishes CRB1 and CRB2 showed significant directionality in the movement (p < 0.01). Movement mean angles of CRB1 and CRB2 were 92.7 and 251.8°, respectively. CRB2, CRB3 and CRB4 exhibited the escaping behavioral response from the noise of source during the pile driving work. The swimming speed of the CRB2 exposed on the heavy underwater noise stimuli due to the pile driving work was 1.21 times faster than that of the CRB1 exposed on the ambient underwater noise in the study site.

  • Conventional car following models are controlled when the velocity of following vehicle is equal to preceding vehicle without consideration of relative distance. Also, since the car following models are hardly consider the driver's behaviors and the environmental factors in driving, the models can't be adopted in reality. Hence, we developed the car following model applying Human Factors to consider driver's safety and comfortness. We simulated to compare the suggested model with the existing model, GGM(General GM). As results of simulations, the GGM model followed the preceding vehicle when the velocity of following vehicle was equal to preceding vehicle without relation of relative range. The other side, when the relative range was less or over than safety range, the suggested model made the relative range equal to safety range. Accordingly, we could be sure that the model would decrease the driver's discomfort and intensify the safety on driving without unnecessary waste of road. We identified that the suggested model is more realistic than the conventional GGM model.

  • Recently, autonomous things, which are pieces of equipment or devices that grasp the context of circumstances on their own and perform actions appropriate for the situation in the surrounding environment, are attracting much research interest. This is because autonomous things are expected to be able to interact with humans more naturally, supersede humans in many tasks, and further solve problems by themselves by collaborating with each other without human intervention. This prospect leans heavily on AI as deep learning has delivered astonishing breakthroughs recently and broadened its range of applications. This paper surveys application trends in deep learning-based AI techniques for autonomous things, especially autonomous driving vehicles, because they present a wide range of problems involving perception, decision, and actions that are very common in other autonomous things.

  • In case of the power conversion converter for driving the Lighting control system, the input voltage widens from $90V_{rms}$ to $264V_{rms}$. Among various methods, LLC half-bridge converter has wide input regulation range and limited switching frequency control range and ZVS is possible for even non-loaded case. Also, the converter can be applied for Universal Lighting control system. In this paper, the transformer design is studied. The efficiency measured is up to 90%.

  • In unmanned vehicles' navigation, the shapes of obstacles are generally irregular and complex. The motion of vehicles based on the range sensor system such as ultrasonic sensors or laser sensors can be unstable due to the irregular shape of the obstacles. In this case, to generate stable trajectory of unmanned vehicles equipped with range sensors, we need an approach that can simplify an obstacle's irregular shape information. In this paper, we propose the trajectory generation algorithm that an vehicle can stably navigate in the environments where irregular shaped obstacles are scattered. The proposed method is verified through the analysis of vehicle's trail and direction data acquired by simulations and implementations.

  • Elastomers, which are used engine mounts and body mount rubbers, are traditionally designed for NVH use in vehicles, and for vibration isolation in specific frequency range. According to the measurement of the characteristics of the SUV's engine mounts, there are variability in same engine mount properties. Static and dynamic stiffness of the SUV's engine mounts are changed due to the driving miles accumulated. The pre-load of body mount rubbers are changed due to the empty vehicle weight, passenger's weight and gross vehicle weight. And the dynamic stiffness of body mount rubbers are changed very hard above 150Hz frequency range.

  • An L-band omnidirectional circular polarized wave antenna is designed and evaluated for transmitting/receiving of vehicle data. Conventional linear polarized wave antenna can not reveive clearly all of the vehicle data which come from the wide driving test range on account of distortion. To overcome this problem, an omnidirectional circular polarized wave antenna is required for the design, first of all, the characteristics, design principle and theoretical background of circular polarized wave with a little signal loss have been reviewed. The designed antenna characteristics an analysed and compared to the desired ones. Our results demonstrate that the strength of vehicle data is flat enough over the full test range using this new antenna.

  • To be high efficient for a navigation of unmanned ground vehicle, it must be able to distinguish between safe and hazardous regions in its immediate environment. We present an advanced method using laser range finder for building global 2D digital maps that include environment information. Laser range finder is used for mapping of obstacles and driving environment in the 2D laser plane. Rotary encoders are used for localization of UGV. The main contributions of this research are the development of an algorithm for global 2D map building and it will turn a UGV navigation based on map matching into a possibility. In this paper, a map building algorithm will be introduced and an assessment of algorithm reliability is judged at an each environment.

  • A driveline incorporating universal joints when driving through an angle can excite various components in a vehicle with second order excitation of torsional and bending vibrations, being transmitted either audibly(noise), or physically(vibration). For a certain range of vehicle dpeed noises can be radiated from the cab wall, in which resonances occur by the excitations transmitted from the driveline as a vibration source. In this paper, the excitation mechanism of cab noises is studied especially for the vehicle speed range of 65 .approx. 75 km/h through the simulation for torsional vibrations of the driveline and for bending vibrations of the cab of an 11 Ton grade Cargo Truck, and verified additionally by vibration and noise measurements. As a result, it is found that the uncomfortable noises in the cab are caused mainly by the abrupt increase of the joint angle of driveline near the axle differential resulted from the excessive clearance alignment of the leaf spring gate.

  • In micro automation technology, the concurrent realization of a high resolution and a large operating rage has been achieved by a dual actuator, usually called by piggy-back system, conventionally. But, because of its manufacturing cost, the complexity of control, and the limit of overall bandwidth, the contract-free and single servo actuators have been suggested with specific applications. In this paper, we suggest a novel non-contact surface actuator suing combination of the Lorentz force and the magnetized force, and discuss the actuating principles including an analytical approach. Differently from the existing planar system, an operating range of the suggested system can be expanded by an additional attachment of active elements. Therefore, it is estimated to be suitable for the next-generation moving system.
