지게차 운전자의 작업자세 부담의 평가

  • In forklift operations, awkward postures due to backward driving may put drivers to the risk of CTD or low back pain. In this research, 6 forklift drivers were surveyed with OWAS for objective posture evaluation and bodymaps for self-report evaluation. The backward driving happened more frequently than forward driving as expected, and, as work hours passed by, the drivers naturally tended to assume the easier work postures in inverse proportion to the frequency of the backward operations. According to the results of OWAS, 60 % of the work postures in the forklift operations belonged to the category II, III, and IV classified serious. Especially, in the backward driving, the postures with the neck twisted over $45^{\circ}$ occupied 82.4 %. In addition, discomfort on the neck, left shoulder, and low back was frequently reported in the self-reports.

장거리 여행용 버스에서의 멀미발생 예측에 관한 연구 (Study on the Motion Sickness Incidence in Express Buses)

  • This study aims to investigate dynamic properties of express buses in the very low frequencies which affect motion sickness incidence. Since passengers often use express buses for long distance traveling, it is a critical point whether a give rise to motion sickness or not. In the study accelerations at the three points on the floor of the six test vehicles were measured during the driving at constant speeds. By applying frequency weighting curves suggested in ISO 2631-1 and ISO 2631-3, physical amount of accelerations were changed into perceptual amount which determines incidence of motion sickness. Motion sickness dose values were calculated from the frequency weighted time history of accelerations, and compared between the vehicles, driving conditions, and the seat positions in the bus. During the driving on public road and high ways for 50 minutes vomiting incidence ratios ranged 0.4 to 0.8%, which were equivalent to 2.4 to 4.8% for 5 hours' driving. The value of 4.8 % means two among 45 passengers may vomit after the traveling, which is very serious situation. Considering the very smooth driving condition at which the data were collected, motion sickness dose values will increase in real situations

건강한 운전 자세 특성 연구 (A Study on Characterizing a Healthy Driving Posture)

  • To find a healthy driving posture, in this study, survey and empirical analysis given onto measurement of car-seat angle has been performed. Among 153 male respondents, those drivers who has minimum 5 year experience and 2 hours daily driving has been selected by a multiple screening process. They were further confirmed to have no discomfort history in any body region caused by the driving task. Final 44 people verified that their actual driving posture is not significantly different (p = 0.692) from healthy one they think. And their data, accordingly, the healthy driving postures are clustered based on the same seat-cushion angle, seat-back angle and trunk-thigh angle. Consequently, three seat-angles of the 44 subjects showed a significant difference only with their height information which is the most effecting factor on driving posture among the physical characteristics. That is a first result categorized healthy driving posture classified physical, if it were departmentalized into additional study, could be able to reflected a factor of "healthy" on car seat design.

텔레매틱스 기술을 이용한 자동차 주행 패턴 및 냉간 배출거리 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Estimation of Vehicle Driving Pattern and Cold Emission Length by using on-board Telematics Devices)

  • In this study, the telematics device was installed on the car (OBD-II) to collect the information on the operation conditions from each sample vehicle. Based on the information the domestic driving pattern was analysed and the ratio of cold start length was estimated. As a result of analysis for driving pattern, we found a difference in the frequency of driving on the hourly or seasonal basis. Then, the driving pattern of the rush hours, weekdays, and weekends could be derived. Also, from the study, an average of 2.22 times per day occurred in a single trip and average driving distance for the trip was 15.72 km. In addition, the proportion of cold start length was analyzed to be 16.11%. The seasonal cold start length has big difference from season to season (Winter 26.63%, Summer 8.22%, Intermediate 12.65%). There was an inverse relationship between the outside temperature and ratio of cold start length. In order to improve the accuracy of the cold emission estimation, it is necessary to apply domestic ratio of cold start length that driving pattern and temperature in Korea is reflected.

Cardiac Autonomic Control and Neural Arousal as Indexes of Fatigue in Professional Bus Drivers

  • Background: Bus driving is a mentally demanding activity that requires prolonged attention to ensure safety. The aim of the study was to assess mental fatigue caused by driving a public bus and to find a profile of workers at higher risk. Methods: We evaluated changes of critical flicker fusion (CFF) (index of central arousal) and heart rate variability (HRV) (index of autonomic balance) in a 6-hour driving shift on a real route, in 31 professional bus drivers, and we tested the influence of personal factors such as sleep quality, BMI, and age. Paired t-test was used to test differences of CFF and HRV between both initial and final phase of driving, while multiple linear regression tested the influence of personal variables on the indexes of mental fatigue. Results: Results showed that CFF significantly decreased after 6 hours of bus driving (41.91 Hz, sd 3.31 vs. 41.15 Hz, sd 3.15; p = 0.041), and heart rate significantly decreased in the final phase of driving, with respect to the initial phase (85 vs. 78 bpm, p = 0.027). Increasing age (beta = -0.729, p = 0.022), risk of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (beta = -0.530, p = 0.04), and diurnal sleepiness (beta = -0.406, p = 0.017) showed a significant effect on influencing mental fatigue. Conclusion: Elderly drivers at higher risk of sleep disorders are more prone to mental fatigue, when exposed to driving activity. Monitoring indexes of central arousal and autonomic balance, coupled with the use of structured questionnaires can represent a useful strategy to detect profile of workers at higher risk of mental fatigue in such duty.

고속 버스에서의 멀미발생 예측에 관한 연구 (Study on the Motion Sickness Dose Values in Express Buses)

By applying the frequency weighting corves suggested in ISO 26.31-1, the Physical quantity of accelerations were changed into the perceptual amount used to judge quantitatively the incidence of motion sickness. Motion sickness dose values were calculated from the frequency weighted time history of acceleration signals, and compared between the vehicles, driving conditions. and the seat positions in the bus. During the 50 minutes' driving on the public road and high ways. the vomiting incidence ratios were seen to range from 0.4 to 0.8 %. which is equivalent to 2.4 to 4.8 % for 5 hours' driving. Unlike the very smooth road conditions considered in this work, motion sickness dose values encountered in real situations are expected to increase.

Study of Driving and Thermal Stability of Anode-type Ion Beam Source by Charge Repulsion Mechanism

  • We fabricated an anode-type ion beam source and studied its driving characteristics of the initial extraction of ions using two driving mechanisms: a diffusion phenomenon and a charge repulsion phenomenon. For specimen exposed to the ion beam in two methods, the surface impurity element was investigated by using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Upon Ar gas injection for plasma generation the ion beam source was operated for 48 hours. We found a Fe 2p peak 5.4 at. % in the initial ions by the diffusion mechanism while no indication of Fe in the ions released in the charge repulsion mechanism. As for a long operation of 200 min, the temperature of ion beam sources was measured to increase at the rate of ${\sim}0.1^{\circ}C/min$ and kept at the initial value of $27^{\circ}C$ for driving by diffusion and charge repulsion mechanism, respectively. In this study, we confirmed that the ion beam source driven by the charge repulsion mechanism was very efficient for a long operation as proved by little electrode damage and thermal stability.

천안시내 택시운전기사들의 자각적 피로와 식이요인의 관련성에 관한 조사연구 (A Survey on the Relationship Between Self-Reported Symptoms of Fatigue and Dietary Factors of Taxi Drivers in Cheonan Area)

  • The effect of dietary factors on the self-reported symptoms of fatigue were surveyed by the interviewing method among 119 taxi drivers in Cheonan area. It was shown that 86.5% of them were working over 11 hours a day and 34.4% of them over 16 hours. the level of job satisfaction was very low. Many of them felt fatigue during driving. Some symptoms of fatigue which many taxi drives said to be suffered from were headache physical exhaustion nervousness tired and sore eyes and anorexia. When related variables to the self-reported symptoms of fatigue were analyzed daily sleeping hours and exercise were significantly correlated with physical mental and neuro-motor fatigue, Subjects who had meals irregularly were greater than those who had regularly. In addition they tended to eat faster during working and 28.6% of them seldom had breakfast. Subjects who had meals irregularly consumed significantly less fat iron calcium vitamin A, and riboflavin. A and riboflavin and niacin than those who skipped it.

PEM 수전해에서 정지횟수가 성능 감소에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Number of Shutdown on the Decrease of Performance in PEM Water Electrolysis)

  • 태양광과 풍력발전의 잉여전기를 공급받아 수전해를 구동하는 경우 날씨 변동에 따라 구동과 정지를 반복해야한다. 수전해를 구동하다 정지하면 잔류 수소와 산소에 의해 PEM 연료전지와 같은 상태가 되고, 구동 중 형성된 수전해의 높은 전위 때문에 전극과 고분자막이 정지 중에도 열화될 가능성이 높다. 본 연구에서는 PEM 수전해가 구동/정지 반복과정에서 전극과 고분자막의 열화가 얼마나 진행되는지 확인하고자, 144시간 동안에 구동/정지 횟수를 변화시키며 성능 감소를 측정하였다. 전극 촉매 활성면적 변화와 고분자막의 수소투과도와 불소유출속도 등을 분석해 전극과 고분자막의 특성 변화를 측정했다. 전체적으로 정지 횟수가 증가할수록 PEM 수전해 성능이 감소했다. 144시간동안에 5회 정지했을 때 IrOx 촉매 활성이 30% 이상 감소하였고, 수소투과도는 80% 증가해서 전극과 고분자막이 모두 열화됨을 확인했다.

이산화염소 시스템을 적용한 자율주행 방역 로봇 (Self-driving quarantine robot with chlorine dioxide system)

  • 공공장소에서 지속적으로 방역을 수행하기 위해서는 인력확보가 쉽지 않은데 자율주행 기반 로봇을 활용하면 인력으로 인한 문제를 해결할 수 있다. 자율주행 기반 방역로봇은 별도의 인력 투입 없이 공공기관과 병원 등의 유해 바이러스 확산 및 질병을 지속적으로 예방 가능하다. 자율주행 기능은 피나클 필터 알고리즘을 적용하여 위치를 추정하고, 방역은 UV살균시스템 및 이산화염소 분사시스템을 적용하였다. 주행시간은 3시간 이상, 위치 오차는 0.5m.이내, 정지 회피하는 기능은 95%, 장애물 감지 거리는 1.5m에서 동작하였다, 자동충전 복구는 배터리 잔량 10%에서 충전거치대로 이동하여 충전이 되었다. 무인방역시스템으로 방역한 결과 인력배치 없이 UV살균은 99%, 이산화염소는 95% 이상 살균되어 막대한 사회적 비용을 절감하는데 자율주행 방역로봇이 기여할 수 있다.
