차량시뮬레이터를 이용한 초보운전자의 잠재적 운전행동 분석 (The Potential Driving Behavior Analysis of Novice Driver using a Driving Simulator)

  • 본 연구에서는 초보운전자의 교통사고 위험성을 줄이고 초보운전자 교육프로그램 개발의 기초자료를 제공하기 위하여 초보운전자에 대한 심리적 특성 및 운전행동에 관한 분석을 실시하였다. 이때 초보운전자의 심리적 부분은 위험인식정도 및 교통상황 이해도를 확인하는 설문조사를 실시하였으며 주 내용은 위험예측 및 예측불허행동에 관한 특성별 범주로 분류하여 파악하였다. 그리고 차량시뮬레이터를 활용하여 초보 및 일반운전자와의 운전행동 특성을 비교 분석하고 통계결과를 토대로 초보운전자의 실제 운전행동에 있어서의 안전진단과 교통안전교육 기초연구의 방향성을 제시 하였다. 본 연구 분석결과, 운전자의 위험예측, 과속, 위반, 정보제공생략, 갑작스러운 변화, 사고건수 모든 부분에서 초보운전자가 일반운전자에 비해 높은 평균값이 나타났다. 또한 초보운전자가 일반운전자에 비해 통계적으로 유의한 위험수준을 보여주었는데 확인된 대상은 위험예측능력, 위반, 갑작스러운 변화, 교통사고건수이었고 그 이외의 과속 수준과 정보제공생략 수준은 초보운전자와 일반운전자 모두 유사한 결과를 보여주었다. 그리고 차량시뮬레이터 실험 결과는 초보운전자가 일반운전자들에 비해 전반적으로 운전 수행능력이 저조한 것으로 나타났다. 특히 충돌횟수에서의 확연한 차이를 보여주었는데 이는 초보운전자들이 일반운전자들에 비해 복잡한 도로교통 상황에서 운전경험과 학습능력이 부족하기 때문인 것으로 판단된다. 한편 초보운전자들은 일반운전자들에 비해 속도조절 능력, 위험예측 능력, 도로교통상황에 대한 인식 및 대처능력 등 전반적인 운전기술의 부족으로 인해 주행안정성이 낮은 것으로 분석되었다. 이러한 결과는 초보운전자들이 일반운전자에 비해 안전운전교육 학습기회의 결여와 운전경험 미숙 등에 따른 것으로 판단되며 운전 상황에 대한 위험예측능력이 낮은 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 결론적으로 이러한 분석결과는 실제 운전상황에서 초보운전자 자신뿐만 아니라 타인에게도 위험 요소로서 작용할 가능성이 높으므로 적절한 안전대책이 필요한 것으로 판단된다.

운전자 피로 감지를 위한 얼굴 동작 인식 (Facial Behavior Recognition for Driver's Fatigue Detection)

  • 본 논문에서는 운전자 피로 감지를 위한 얼굴 동작을 효과적으로 인식하는 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 얼굴 동작은 얼굴 표정, 얼굴 자세, 시선, 주름 같은 얼굴 특징으로 나타난다. 그러나 얼굴 특징으로 하나의 동작 상태를 뚜렷이 구분한다는 것은 대단히 어려운 문제이다. 왜냐하면 사람의 동작은 복합적이며 그 동작을 표현하는 얼굴은 충분한 정보를 제공하기에는 모호성을 갖기 때문이다. 제안된 얼굴 동작 인식 시스템은 먼저 적외선 카메라로 눈 검출, 머리 방향 추정, 머리 움직임 추정, 얼굴 추적과 주름 검출과 같은 얼굴 특징 등을 감지하고 획득한 특징을 FACS의 AU로 나타낸다. 획득한 AU를 근간으로 동적 베이지안 네트워크를 통하여 각 상태가 일어날 확률을 추론한다.

계획행동이론을 통한 과속운전 성향분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Speeding Behavior Propensity Analysis by Theory of Planned Behavior)

  • PURPOSES : Traffic accidents and damage due to speeding should be recognized as a problem which harms society and the economy as well as the parties to the accidents. It is time to seek more detailed and concrete customized alternatives than the existing policies for the prevention of traffic accidents. METHODS: In this study, we identified the characteristics driver behavior and psychological factors that lead to speeding, and a study was carried out to verify the causality models developed from the factors we identified. RESULTS : Driving behavior variables have a significant effect on speeding behaviors in order of Lapse, Violation, and Mistake. And the violation which is defined as intentional violation showed the result which supports the research hypothesis as it has the significant effect on speeding intention and behaviors. CONCLUSIONS: The result of this study can be utilized to develop educational problems concerning speeding and previous response with the main objective of eliminating speeding driver behavior.

고속도로의 전방 장해물 충돌방지정보 제공이 운전행동에 미치는 영향 (Influence on Driver Behavior According to Providing Collision Avoidance Information on Highway)

  • 고속도로에서 전방 시인이 용이하지 않은 구간에 사고차량이 존재 할 경우, 사고차량과의 충돌을 사전에 예방하기 위한 운전지원정보의 필요성이 높아지고 있다. 본 연구는 충돌방지정보 제공에 따른 운동행동에 미치는 영향을 드라이빙 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 검토하였다. 충돌방지정보를 교통상황에 따른 위험 정도에 따라 주의, 경계, 경고정보의 3단계로 나누어 검토하였고, 차량기기를 통해 제공된 정보에 대한운전자의 시인행동 및 사고차량과의 충돌회피를 위한 운전행동을 분석하였다. 또한, 제공된 정보에 대한 중요성 평가를 실시하였다. 실험 결과에 따르면, 충돌방지정보를 두 단계로 나누어 연속으로 제공할 경우에 사고발생을 낮추는 데에 효과가 있었고, 또한 두 번째 제공되는 정보는 시각정보보다는 청각 중심의 정보가 제공되어야 한다는 것을 밝혔다.

고령운전자 특성 기반의 고속도로 주행 위험구간 도출 연구 (An Investigation of Risk Spots on Expressways based on Older Drivers' Perception and Behavior Analyses)

  • PURPOSES : This study was conducted to develop expressway safety treatments based on the analysis results of older driver behaviors through literature review, surveys, and driving simulator experiments. METHODS : In this study, three analyses were conducted: surveys of 700 older drivers to find the risk segments they recognized, driving simulator experiments with older and younger drivers to investigate driver behaviors, and expert surveys to find the priority of expressway safety treatments for older drivers. RESULTS : Through survey results it was found that merging areas and tunnels were identified as the most dangerous areas, and more dangerous older driver behaviors were observed on those expressway segments in the driving simulator experiments. In addition, the priorities of safety treatments for each segment of expressways were decided based on expert surveys. CONCLUSIONS : It was concluded that choice and concentration strategies of expressway safety treatments for older drivers should be applied as perceptions regarding dangerous spots and older driver behaviors, including geometric designs, safety facilities, regulation, and institutes to improve expressway safety.

운전자의 불안전한 행위와 성격유형과의 상호관계에 관한 연구 (Correlation between Driver's Unsafe Acts and Personality Types)

  • The goal of this study is to find out correlation between Driver's Unsafe acts(errors and violations) and Personality types. The experiment was performed on 180 subjects, men and women between 20's and 60's having experience in driving for 6 months at least. Personality types of the subjects were classified by MBTI(Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) GS type and Driver's unsafe acts were measured by KDBQ(Korean Driver Behavior Questionnaire) based on Reason's DBQ(Driver Behavior Questionnaire). The result of experiment showed several facts about the relation. The first is that the drivers of P (Perceiving) type commit more violations and slips than drivers of J(Judging) type. The second is that in the comparison among attitude indexes(EP, EJ, IP, IJ) the drivers of EP(Extroversions - Perceiving) commit more violations than other type drivers. Finally, only men of P(Perceiving) type commits more violations than men of J(Judging). Based on these facts, it is possible to use Personality types as a device to prevent unsafe acts in various fields for driver selection and accident prevention training classified by Personality types etc.

차량정보기기 사용에서 운전자의 인지부담 평가방법에 관한 연구 (Study on Evaluation Method of Driver's Cognitive Workload with using In-Vehicle Information Systems)

  • Driving workload is increasing according to developing new in-vehicle devices and introducing driving information systems. In this research using a driving simulator, EFRP (Eye Fixation Related Potential) was measured for evaluating driving attention and distraction while tasking cognitive workload, n-back tasks. The result of EFRP was compared with driver behaviors. Results suggest that EFRP is able to use for a method of evaluating driving workload, however, the analysis of driver behavior is difficult to find driving attention and distraction in the case of free flow of traffic situation.

The expanding reach of the GAL4/UAS system into the behavioral neurobiology of Drosophila

  • Our understanding of the relationships between genes, brains, and behaviors has changed a lot since the first behavioral mutants were isolated in the fly bottles of the Benzer lab at Caltech (1), but Drosophila is still an excellent model system for studying the neurobiology of behavior. Recent advances provide an unprecedented level of control over fly neural circuits. Efforts are underway to add to existing GAL4-driver lines that permit exogenous expression of genetic tools in small populations of neurons. Combining these driver lines with a variety of inducible UAS lines permits the visualization of neuronal morphology, connectivity, and activity. These driver lines also make it possible to specifically ablate, inhibit, or activate subsets of neurons and assess their roles in the generation of behavioral responses. Here, I will briefly review the extensive arsenal now available to drosophilists for investigating the neuronal control of behavior.

  • Using driving simulator, we analyzed the driving behavior of an older driver on intersection and measured the pychological load to HRV. As a results, older drivers started to enter the more complex intersection on a great distance and on low velocity for safety driving. On the other hand, the value of HRV would be lower on more complex intersections. It suggested that an older driver allowed for his own losses of physiological and cognitive function and recognized low level of driving confidence relatively.

일 지역 중.고등학생의 흡연, 음주와 안전생활 실천 (Smoking, Drinking and Safety Behavior Practices in Middle and High School Students)

  • Purpose: This study was done to identify the relationship between smoking, drinking and safety behavior in middle and high school students in one Korean province, North Cholla. Method: The study sample included 1,327 randomly selected middle and high school students from S-Gun area in Chonbuk Province. The data were collected using an anonymous questionnaire developed by the Ministry of Health and Welfare (2005). The data were analyzed using the SPSSWIN 15.0 program. Results: The smoking rate in the middle and high school students was 6.9%, and the drinking rate was 24.9%. The rate for seatbelt use was 49.3%, for drunk driving, 8.8%, and for riding in car driven by a drunk driver, 24.0%. The rates for seatbelt use, for drunk driving, and for riding in a drunk driver were higher in smokers and drinkers than in non-smokers and non-drinkers(p<.05). Conclusion: The smoking and drinking status of the adolescents was correlated with their safety behavior practices as they relate to seatbelt use, drunk driving, and for riding in car driven by a drunk driver. Therefore, an elementary school level program to curb student smoking and alcohol consumption is needed to prevent smoking and alcohol consumption in middle and high school students and contribute to improvement in their safety behavior practices.
