Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes equations are solved numerically for the computation of turbulent flow around a Wigley double model. A second order finite difference method is applied for the spatial discretization on the nonstaggered grid system and 4-stage Runge-Kutta scheme for the numerical integration in time. In order to increase the time step, residual averaging scheme of Jameson is adopted. Pressure field is obtained by solving the pressure-Poisson equation with the appropriate Neumann boundary condition. For the turbulence closure, 0-equation turbulence model of Baldwin-Lomax is used. Numerical computation is carried out for the Reynolds number of 4.5 million. Comparisons of the computed results with the available experimental data show good agreements for the velocity and pressure distributions.

Specification selection, Layout, specifications and combinations of Power Drives, and Ship motions were studied for FGPP(Floating Gas-fired Power Plants), which are still needed in areas such as the Caribbean, Latin America, and Southeast Asia where electricity is not sufficiently supplied. From this study, the optimal equipment layout in ships was derived. In addition, the difference between engine and turbine was verified through LCOE(Levelized Cost of Energy) comparison according to the type and combination of Power Drives. Analysis of Hs(Significant Height of wave) and Tp(spectrum Peak Period of wave) for places where this FGPP will be tested or applied enables design according to wave characteristics in Brazil and Indonesia. Normalized Sloshing Pressures of FGPP and LNG Carrier are verified using a sloshing analysis program, which is CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) software developed by ABS(American Bureau of Shipping). Power Transmission System is studied with Double bus with one Circuit Breaker Topology. A nd the CFD analysis allowed us to calculate linear roll damping coefficients for more accurate full load conditions and ballast conditions. Through RAO(Response Amplitude Operator) analysis, we secured data that could minimize the movement of ships according to the direction of waves and ship placement by identifying the characteristics of large movements in the beam sea conditions. The FGPP has been granted an AIP(Approval in Principle) from a classification society, the ABS.
When calculating the user's position using satellite signals, the signals originating from the satellite pass through the ionosphere and troposphere to the user. In particular, the ionosphere delay error that occurs when passing through the ionosphere delays when the signal is transmitted, generating a pseudorange error and position error at a large rate. Therefore, to improve position accuracy, it is essential to correct the ionosphere layer error. In a receiver capable of receiving dual frequency, the ionosphere error can be eliminated through a double difference, but in a single frequency receiver, an ionosphere correction model transmitted from a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) satellite is used. The popularly used Klobuchar model is designed to improve performance globally. As such, it does not perform perfectly in the Korea region. In this paper, the characteristics of the delay in the ionosphere in the Korean region are identified through an analysis of 10 years of data, and an improved ionosphere correction model for the Korean region is presented using the widely employed Klobuchar model. Through the proposed model, vertical position error can be improved by up to 40% relative to the original Klobuchar model in the Korea region.
International remittances play a crucial role in the economic management of each country, especially in developing countries. Its functions are diverse, including procurement of foreign currency, serving as a cushion for the balance of payments and foreign exchange reserves by reducing the adverse external shocks, driving economic growth, easing the gap between the rich and the poor, and maintaining macroeconomic stability. However, previous studies on remittances have mainly focused on macro-and micro-economic aspects to analyze the determinants. Therefore, this study attempts to identify the determinants of remittances in 122 countries over the past 25 years from macroeconomic and educational aspects as well as institutional qualities. In addition, given the fact that almost all of the world's top 10 recipient countries in terms of GDP and total remittance size are developing countries, developed and developing countries are separated and analyzed for comparison, assuming that there may be a difference between the two groups. Results show that the coefficients of developed and developing countries are different in four areas: Control of Corruption (CC), Rule of Law (RL), Voice and Accountability (VA), and Regulatory Quality (RQ) among the six institutional variables of interest in this study. These results implicate that even the same institutions and policies should be applied and implemented differently depending on the circumstances of each country. In addition, as suggested by the World Bank, policymakers in all countries should double their policy efforts to lower the costs of remittance and improve access to the financial system for immigrants or dispatched workers to ensure a steady inflow of remittances.
Six hundred fourteen consecutive cases of bioprosthetic cardiac valve replacement performed during the period from March 1976 through December 1982 were reviewed. A total of 748 tissue valves [534 Ionescu-Shiley valves, 144 Hancock valves, 46 Angell-Shiley, and 24 Carpentier-Edwards] were implanted in 610 patients. Of these, 477 had single valve replacements [403 mitral, 60 aortic, and 14 tricuspid] including three REDO MVR and one REDO AVR. The remaining 129 had double valve replacements [95 AVR and MVR and 34 MVR and TVR] and 8 had triple valve replacement.592 cases were evaluated. Overall early mortality rate [within 30 days of operation] was 7.1% [6.2% in single valve replacement, 10.2% in double valve replacement, and 16.7% in triple valve replacement]. Leading causes of mortality were low cardiac output or myocardial failure and ventricular arrhythmias. The follow-up period was from one month to 7 years with a cumulative follow-up of 906.6 patient-years [mean 1.53 years]. The late mortality was 1.6%, 3.9%, 0%, 2.6%, 6.6% and 2.0% per patient-year for MVR, AVR, TVR or triple valve replacement, AVR+MVR, MVR+TVR and total, respectively. Actuarial analysis of late results including early mortalities indicates an expected survival rate of 87.6+1.8% at 3 years and 85.92.4% at 7 years for all cases. We also analyzed actuarial survival rate between groups of each valve replacement [AVR, TVR, Double valve, and Triple valve] and the tissue valve groups in MVR. We experienced 7 cases [0.77% per patient-year] of confirmed endocarditis, two of which were fatal. Valve failure-free rates calculated according to the confirmed cases were 97.5% at 4 years, 87.5% at 7 years, and 88.3% at 6 years for Ionescu-Shiley, Hancock and Angell-Shiley valves, respectively. The occurrence rate of thromboembolism was 2.0% per patient-year in total cases, although almost all the patients were given anticoagulant therapy for one year. The occurring rate in MVR was 1.5% and 2.7% per patient-year for Ionescu-Shiley and Hancock valve groups, respectively. The difference in actuarial rate free from thromboemboli between Ionescu-Shiley and Hancock groups was statistically significant [P value less than 0.001]. Thromboembolic events beyond the period of anticoagulation therapy mainly occurred in patients with atrial fibrillation. The actuarial thromboemboli free survival was 95.71.4% at 3 years and 80.17.3% at 7 years. The incidence of hemorrhagic complications was 1.2% per patient-year [fatality 0.55% per patient-year] for anticoagulated patients. Although our clinical data favorably compares with results from other reports, our results suggest that anticoagulant therapy be given on a short-term basis or not at all to hemodynamically stable patients. Long-term therapy with antiplatelet drugs is probably inevitable with patients who have thromboembolic risk factors [such as atrial fibrillation].

With the development of advanced industries, research on image processing hardware is essential, and timing verification at the gate level is required for actual chip operation. For FPGA-based verification, DDR3 memory interface was previously applied. But recently, as the FPGA specification has improved, DDR4 memory is used. In this case, when a previously used memory interface is applied, the timing mismatch of signals may occur and thus cannot be used. This is due to the difference in performance between CPU and memory. In this paper, the problem is solved through state optimization of the existing interface system FSM. In this process, data read speed is doubled through AXI Data Width modification. For actual case analysis, ZC706 using DDR3 memory and ZCU106 using DDR4 memory among Xilinx's SoC boards are used.
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Soy isoflavones are expected to improve menopausal symptoms and osteoporosis in women. However, their efficacy is still inconclusive, and there was limited data for postmenopausal women in South Korea. We examined the effects of soy isoflavones on climacteric symptoms, bone biomarkers, and quality of life in Korean postmenopausal women. SUBJECTS/METHODS: A randomized, double-blind study design was used. Eighty-seven participants who had undergone natural menopause were randomly administered either 70 mg/day isoflavones (n = 43) or placebo (n = 41) for 12 weeks. We assessed the Kupperman index for climacteric symptoms and the menopause-specific quality of life (MENQOL) questionnaire for quality of the life. Biomarkers of bone metabolism were also measured in serum bone-specific alkaline phosphatase (BALP), osteocalcin (OC), N- and C-terminal cross-linking telopeptides of type Ι collagen (NTx, CTx), and urine-deoxypyridinolin (u-DPD). RESULTS: Scores of the Kupperman index were decreased in both the isoflavones group ($-7.0{\pm}15.8$, P = 0.0074) and placebo group ($-6.3{\pm}14.6$, P = 0.0064) during the intervention, but no significant difference was noted between the groups. Regarding the bone formation markers, the level of serum BALP increased by $6.3{\pm}4.1%$ (P = 0.004) and OC increased by $9.3{\pm}6.2%$ (P < 0.001), meanwhile those of the placebo were not changed. For the bone resorption markers, NTx, CTx, and u-DPD were not significantly different in either group. MENQOL was significant decreased in the isoflavone group ($-0.6{\pm}0.5$) and placebo group ($-0.6{\pm}0.4$), with a significant difference between groups (P = 0.0228). CONCLUSIONS: Our study suggests that 70 mg isoflavones supplement has beneficial effects on bone formation markers; however, it showed no benefit compared to the placebo on climacteric symptoms or quality of life.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference in the stride-to-stride variability between two treadmill conditions; traditional treadmill and special treadmill whose speed can be adjusted automatically by subject's walking speed. Eight male subjects (25.1 years, 172.7 cm, 66.6 kg) were participated in treadmill walking experiment. First, preferred walking speed (PWS) of each subject was determined. Second, each subject performed walking experiment with fixed PWS condition and with free PWS condition for 10 minutes. 3D motion capture system (Motion analysis Corp., USA) with 6 cameras was used to collect motion data with sampling frequency of 120Hz. Temporal and spatial variables for stride-to-stride variability were calculated. Coefficient of variance (CV) which quantifies the amount of variability and Detrended Fluctuation Analysis (DFA) which explains the structure (self-similarity) of the variability were used for analysis. Results showed that the amount of variability during free PWS condition was greater than that of fixed PWS condition. DFA results showed that there was a statistical difference between two treadmill conditions for the variables of step length, stance time, and double support time. From these results, it is possible that traditional treadmill study might give incorrect conclusion about gait variability study. Further study is necessary to clarify these matters by considering the number of subjects, experimental time, and gait variables for the study of stride-to-stride variability.

This study, by adopting case study methodology, is focused on examining the present state and analyzing the cause of the digital divide, and suggesting policies for bridging the divide, specifically in view of SMEs. We have taken cases of manufacturing companies, visiting and interviewing 18 SMEs in 10 APEC member economies which show sharp difference in usage of ICT. In order to analyze the digital gap among SMEs, we used 5 variables that are composed of computer hardware, computer software, Internet, readiness of ICT, and performance of ICT adoption, while categorizing the cases into low and high tier based on the national ICT index. From a computer hardware perspective, the high tier (0.66) has almost double the number of PC’s per employee, compared with the low tiers (0.34). This gap can be explained by financial availability of low income and high tariff in the developing economies. In the computer software perspective, the SMEs in the low tier had some restrictive use of computer applications such as financial and accounting management and document management, while those in the high tier enjoyed more diversity in the use of applications such as inventory management, sales management, financial and accounting management, procurement management, CRM, and ERP. In view of the readiness of ICT, the difference in ICT infrastructure and financial status between the low and high tier was far wider than any other variables. As a result of ICT adoption, SMEs benefited in view of learning and growth, internal business processes, customer service, and financial affairs. To effectively bridge the digital divide between the low and high tier, actions such as setting up a secondary market of used computers among cooperating developed and developing countries, developing and diffusing good business applications, and building speedy, low-cost telecommunication infrastructures should be taken.
Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate discoloration of teeth undergoing regenerative endodontic procedures (REPs) using blood clot or platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) as the scaffolds and different calcium silicate-based materials as the intracanal coronal barriers in an ex vivo model. Materials and Methods: Forty-eight bovine incisors were prepared and disinfected using 1 mg/mL double antibiotic paste (DAP). The specimens were then randomly divided into 2 groups (n = 24) according to the scaffolds (blood or PRF). After placement of scaffolds each group was divided into 2 subgroups (n = 12) according to the intracanal coronal barriers (ProRoot MTA or Biodentine). The pulp chamber walls were sealed with dentin bonding agent before placement of DAP and before placement of scaffolds. The color changes (${\Delta}E$) were measured at different steps. The data were analyzed using 2-way analysis of variance. Results: Coronal discoloration induced by DAP was not clinically perceptible (${\Delta}E{\leq}3.3$). Regarding the type of the scaffold, coronal discoloration was significantly higher in blood groups compared with PRF groups at the end of REP and after 1 month (p < 0.05). However, no significant difference was found between PRF and blood clot after 6 months (p > 0.05). Considering the type of intracanal coronal barrier, no significant difference existed between ProRoot MTA and Biodentine (p > 0.05). Conclusions: With sealing the dentinal tubules of pulp chamber with a dentin bonding agent and application of DAP as an intracanal medicament, coronal color change of the teeth following the use of PRF and blood sealed with either ProRoot MTA or Biodentine was not different at 6-month follow-up.
