소수력 발전설비 성능평가 시스템 구축 (Construction of small hydropower facilities performance evaluation system)

  • Domestic hydroelectric power plants has been manufactured as the design condition by the demand. Hydraulic turbine power plants operating at appointed load shall be operate stable in terms of pressure, discharge, rotational speed and torque. A performance guarantees for hydro turbines shall be contain, as a minimum, guarantees covering power, discharge and specific hydraulic energy, efficiency, maximum momentary overspeed and maximum momentary pressure and maximum steady-state runaway speed, as well as guarantees related to cavitation. But, present in Korea, the absence of testing laboratories and technical criteria for the performance test of small hydropower degrades the efficiency of the domestic hydropower machines, and makes it difficult to objectively evaluate the performance of hydro turbine. Therefore We planned making a basis of performance test of small hydropower turbine by using our flowmeter calibration system the largest one in Korea. We planned the maximum measurable power of hydro turbine will be 200 kW in our system.

A Preliminary Study for the Implementation of General Accident Management Strategies

  • To enhance the safety of nuclear power plants, implementation of accident management has been suggested as one of most important programs. Specially, accident management strategies are suggested as one of key elements considered in development of the accident management program. In this study, generally applicable accident management strategies to domestic nuclear power plants are identified through reviewing several accident management programs for the other countries and considering domestic conditions. Identified strategies are as follows; 1) Injection into the Reactor Coolant System, 2) Depressurize the Reactor Coolant System, 3) Depressurize the Steam Generator, 4) Injection into the Steam Generator, 5) Injection into the Containment, 6) Spray into the Containment, 7) Control Hydrogen in the Containment. In addition, the systems and instrumentation necessary for the implementation of .each strategy are also investigated.

Steroidal Sapogenin Contents in Some Domestic Plants

  • In order to find out the values of the steroid resources for the future use, the compositions and contents of steroidal sapogenins from 13 domestic plants have been investigated. As a result Dioscorea nipponica, D. quinqueloba and Smilax china were found to have large amount of diosgenin. And pennogenin in Trillium kamtschaticum and Paris verticillata, yuccagenin in Allium fistulosum, hecogenin in Agave americana and neochlorogenin in Solanum nigum were appeared to be major steroidal sapogenins.

형상관리와 국내외 원전 동향 (Configuration Management and Domestic and International nuclear power plant trends)

  • 국내와 국외를 통틀어서 현재까지 원전사고가 수차례 있었고 이로 인한 크고 작은 피해가 있었다. 해외는 이러한 사고를 줄이기 위해서 형상관리라는 기술을 도입하여 원전 운영에 대한 안전성과 신뢰성을 향상 시켜왔다. 본 논문에서는 형상관리에 관한 기본적인 정보와 국외 원전의 형상관리 도입 성공사례들을 통해서 국내에 적용 가능한 기술적 부분을 확인하고 이를 국내 원전에 맞게 보완하여 새로이 적용할 수 있는지를 알아본다.

해양플랜트인력양성을 위한 교육과정개발에 대한 연구 (A Study on Education Curriculum for Human Resource of Offshore Plant)

  • Offshore plants is an intensive industry where real value is able to be created when EPCIC(Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, Commissioning) is combined. Many universities and educational institutions have established major fields and graduate schools related in offshore construction and engineering as well as safety training and occupational courses. Most of the personnel who have graduated and passed those educational institutions have been working in domestic shipbuilding companies and marine equipment manufacturers. Therefore, customized education and training should be developed according to the educational demands required and then skilled personnel are needed to be supplied at proper times. This study, therefore, has found personnel demands inside and outside the country and occupational sections of offshore plants. Consequently, this study suggests making up a council comprised of shipbuilding companies, marine equipment manufacturers and educational institutions with government organization, and also researches the necessity of getting a job of personnel trained by the customized education. These results are expected to contribute to the development of education curriculum of domestic offshore plant as well as ODC(Offshore Development Center).

Stochastics and Artificial Intelligence-based Analytics of Wastewater Plant Operation

  • Tele-metering systems have been useful tools for managing domestic wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) over the last decade. They mostly generate water quality data for discharged water to ensure that it complies with mandatory regulations and they may be able to produce every operation parameter and additional measurements in the near future. A sub-big data group, comprised of about 150,000 data points from four domestic WWTPs, was ready to be classified and also analyzed to optimize the WWTP process. We used the Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) 25 package in order to statistically treat the data with linear regression and correlation analysis. The major independent variables for analysis were water temperature, sludge recycle rate, electricity used, and water quality of the influent while the dependent variables representing the water quality of the effluent included the total nitrogen, which is the most emphasized index for discharged flow in plants. The water temperature and consumed electricity showed a strong correlation with the total nitrogen but the other indices' mutual correlations with other variables were found to be fuzzy due to the large errors involved. In addition, a multilayer perceptron analysis method was applied to TMS data along with root mean square error (RMSE) analysis. This study showed that the RMSE in the SS, T-N, and TOC predictions were in the range of 10% to 20%.

국내 해수담수화 플랜트 적용 활성화 방안 연구 (The Research on Activation Plan for Seawater Desalination Plant Application in Korea)

  • Foreign and domestic seawater desalination plant market investigation was performed to analyze the worldwide trend of seawater desalination plant market and to establish the activation plan for seawater desalination plant application. Water demand and seawater desalination related laws and regulations were investigated and analyzed for the activation plan. RO type and large scale plants are popular nowadays however there are only small plants in island region in Korea. There will be about $1 million\;m^3/day$ deficit in 2015 according to the water demand forecasting from Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Land, Transportation, and Maritime Affairs in Korea. Therefore, it is necessary to activate the domestic application of seawater desalination plant to secure stable water resources. To activate the domestic application of seawater desalination plant, first, we need to establish regulations, support system in the water service law for seawater desalination plant. Second, related Ministry should increase the support for the operation and management of seawater desalination plant and suggest the construction of seawater desalination plant for water resources security near seaside region.

Review of the regulatory periodic inspection system from the viewpoint of defense-in-depth in nuclear safety

  • The regulatory periodic safety inspection system is one of the most important methods for confirming the safety of nuclear power plants and the defense in depth in nuclear safety is the most important basic means for accident prevention and mitigation. Recently, a new regulatory technology based on risk-informed and safety performance has been developed and used in advanced countries. However, since the domestic periodic inspection system is being used in the same way over 30 years, it is necessary to know how the inspection contributes to the safety confirmation of the nuclear power plants. In this study, the domestic periodic inspection system currently in use was analyzed from the perspective of defense in depth in nuclear safety. In addition, the analysis results were compared to the U.S. NRC's safety inspection system to obtain consistency and lessons in this study. As a result of analysis, the NRC's safety inspections were distributed almost evenly at the all levels of defense in depth, while in the case of domestic inspection, they were heavily focused on the level 1 of defense in depth. Therefore, it appeared urgent to improve the inspection system to strengthen the other levels of defense in depth in nuclear safety.

한국산 수련과 식물에 관한 본초학적 연구 (A Herbological Study on the Plants of Nymphaeaceae in Korea)

  • Objective : For the purpose of developing Korean herbology of the plants to Nymphaeaceae in Korea, the literatures of the successive generations have been thoroughly investigated to prepare this article.Methods : Books and research papers about Herbology which published at home and abroad were examined.Results : A list was made about Nymphaeaceae plant which were cultivated or grew naturally in Korea, after investigated the data on domestic and foreign Nymphaeaceae plants. Out of those lists, serviceable plants were selected and with those available plants, their distributions were analysed and parts which can be used as medicines were divided into 3 categories such as oriental medicine name, scientific name and non-official name. Nymphaeaceae's properties flavor, channels they use, effects, and toxicity were also noted. Nymphaeaceae (grew in Korea) were divided into 6 classes with 10 species. Out of those, 5 classes with 5 species were found serviceable which indicates 50% of all. Out of all 10 species of Nymphaeaceae family, Nuphar genus were found 4 species, which were shown the most. Among 5 genus of Nymphaeceae species, medicinal plants were all one species each. Out of all serviceable parts in Nymphaeaceae, Etc parts took first place as 10 species. There are no toxic, the survey said.Conclusion : There were totaled to 6 genera and 10 species in Dioscoreaceae in Korea and among them medicinal plants are 5 genera, 5 species, some 50% in total.

Among Fumariaceae species, Corydalis genus were found 8 medicinal plants, which were shown the most. Out of all serviceable parts in Fumariaceae, Herba and Tuber parts took first place as 5 species. There are 2 toxic species and 3 toxic medicinal parts, the survey said.Conclusion : There were totaled to 3 genera and 23 species in Fumariaceae in Korea and among them medicinal plants are 2 genera, 9 species, some 39 in total.
