  • The purpose of the study is to develop a license model which could be used as guidelines during the process of contracting for the use of electronic journals in the academic libraries. The study was done through the following 4 steps. First, through the analysis of previous related literature, the study examined the licensing principles, the structure of the license, the relationship between copyright and contracts, and the development of license models in the library. Secondly, through the analysis of the basic structure of 5 representative license models abroad and 2 domestic licenses, the study established the basic structure of license model. Thirdly, a questionnaire was conducted on library licensee and the vendor licensor in order to find out the present states and problems of library contracting and their opinion on the core clauses of the contract. Lastly, having based on the results of the investigations mentioned above, the study finally developed the license model.

  • The purpose of the study was to analyze the concept of happiness that would be experienced in life of Korean cancer survivors. The concepts of happiness were analyzed using the Rogers' evolutionary concept analysis method for 11 papers satisfying the selection criteria, among domestic journals published from January 2000 to September 2017. The result of this study was that attributes of happiness were subjective experience, positive mind, meaning of life and formation of relationship. Antecedents were to accept-risk-of-life, cope-with-the-reality, implement-self-reflection and environmental-support. As a result of the concept, cancer survivors' inner strength increased, they became feeling love and pursuing new lives, and felt happiness through self-realization. This study is valuable to suggest a basic framework for the stepwise assessment that can improve the happiness of Korean cancer survivors and cancer survivors should be managed through multidisciplinary convergence programs.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the research trends of 114 papers about mathematical creativity published in domestic journals from 1997 to 2011 with regard to the years, objects, subjects, and methods of such research. The research of mathematical creativity education has been studied since 2000. The frequent objects in the research were non-human, middle and high school students, elementary students, gifted students, teachers (in-service and pre-service), and kindergarteners in order. The research on the teaching methods of mathematical creativity, the general study of mathematical creativity, or the measurement and the evaluation of mathematical creativity was active, whereas that of dealing with curricula and textbooks was rare. The qualitative research method was more frequently used than the quantitative research one. The mixed research method was hardly used. On the basis of these results, this paper shows how mathematical creativity was studied until now and gives some implications for the future research direction in mathematical creativity.

  • Objectives: This study is to review the effect of Korean medicinal herbs on treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia induced in rat models, as reported in domestic and foreign journals. Methods: Six electronic databases (EMBASE, PubMed, Oasis, RISS, CENTRAL, and Koreankt) were searched with terms including benign prostatic hyperplasia to identify study reports on treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia impairment with Korean medicinal herbs. After selecting several studies, the analysis focused on items reflected in the diagnosis of benign prostatic hyperplasia, such as prostate weight, thickness of the prostate epithelium, and prostate specific antigen. Results: Six studies were reviewed. Testosterone propionate was used as a benign prostatic hyperplasia induction material in all the included studies. Cinnamomum verum (CV), Cynanchum wilfordii (CW), Ponciri fructus (PF), Quisqualis indica (QI), Acorus gramineus (AG), and Melandrium firmum (MF) had reduced prostate weight statistically significantly. The QI gave a better response than finasteride in terms of reducing epithelium thickness, and the response was statistically significant. The prostate specific antigen level was lower in the group treated with CV than in the control group. Conclusions: CV, CW, PF, QI, AG, and MF had distinct therapeutic effects. However it is difficult to determine which of these is better by comparing them numerically because the observation items evaluated in a rat model of benign prostatic hyperplasia.

  • The aim of this study is to analyze the research trend focusing on Yangseng(養生) studies in Korea. Through this study, the researchers attempt to explore the research trends of the Yangseng(養生) in Traditional Korean Medicine. Yangseng(養生) as a key word was searched on representative domestic databases of articles and the researchers and collected the articles of journals published from 1980 to 2012. Finally 350 articles of Yangseng(養生) were selected. After mid-2000s, Yangseng(養生) studies has been increased with the great interest in quality of life. Taoism and Traditional Korean Medicine were closely related with Yangseng(養生). Most of the Yangseng(養生) Studies in Medicine have been carried out by Traditional Korean Medicine and primarily focused in the literature. Yangseng(養生) has been defined as a sort of health-promoting behaviors. Therefore, Yangseng(養生) studies that mainly analyzed the variables associated with health-related quality of life and Yangseng(養生) and the main subjects were elderly and workers in this study. But every measuring instrument except Yangseng(養生) was adapted from western tools. In order to handle the new wave of society and medicine, new health concept and measuring instrument of Traditional Korean Medicine should be developed through Korean unique ideas of Yangseng(養生).

  • The Quantitative analysis for collapsion probability of each construcion work has not been developed, despite of that the one for safety management itself has been reported, up to now. It is concluded that showing critical check points against structure collapsion due to each work at construction site, and Quantifying those could be useful Quality-assuring tool, not to prevent Quality failure. Risk classes of each work at construction site, classified by German Builders Mutual-Aid Association (GEBMAS), and by special instruction rates of Korea Insurance Development Institute, are introduced to compare with the results of this study. As of a study method, total 2,002 sheets of questionwares are distributed directly to new city development areas, which are called, Ilsan 110 points : Pundang 79points and Chungdong 38points, including additional Changwon 125sheets and pusan 60sheets, by four(4) people, for contact with actual site engineers. Total responses of 1,056 sheets, are collected. Interrelationship diagram between experience years of Engrs., and risk rate of responses are also classified, with the criteria of four(4) years. Domestic journals with relation to construction have reported that main building Structure collapsions are mainly shown on apartment buildings and office ones. These two(2) building structures are again classified as five(5) kinds of works. This study takes use of an approach on haying the risk rates for each construction work on the above individual construction work. Additionally, site investigations have been performed to find out any possible unreasonable check items, due to construction method ; Reinforced Concret structure, Pre cast Concrete structure, and Steel structure building. Developed Quality Assurance Analysis Form with the Quantitative danger class, resulted from this study, are verified as it is able to be a good efficiency tool against collapsion of building structures.

  • Objectives: Acupuncture has been shown to relieve pain and modulate biological function by stimulating the organ-specific meridians and enhances parasympathetic activity and suppresses sympathetic activity. The aim of this review is to summarize and understand the effects of acupuncture on autonomic nervous system. Methods: We reviewed a total of 29 studies published from 2000 to 2010 searched by PueMed and various domestic oriental medicine journals to obtain acupuncture studies related with ANS. Each article was classified by ANS measurement index and reviewed for study objectives, outcomes, acupuncture points, experimental and control interventions. Results: In the study of acupuncture about EEG, HRV, SCR, the experiment results are not the same by acupoints. Although same acupoint the results differ by subject's condition. But the study showed some clear tendency. In brief, in normal states acupuncture enhanced either vagal or sympathetic tone depending on the stimulated acupuncture point sites. On the other hand, most of studies demonstrated that acupuncture restored the autonomic dysfunctions in various kinds of tired or stressful states. Conclusions: We reviewed studies that contributed to an understanding of the effects and mechanisms of acupuncture on autonomic nervous system. Although the relationship between acupuncture and ANS response is still uncertain, acupuncture could be a excellent treatment method for modulating autonomic dysfunction.

  • Objectives: Eight constitution medicine (ECM), which was first introduced in 1965, has been further developed and refined over the decades, and has consolidated its foundation through many studies on theories, diagnosis and clinical application. However, there have been few reviews on dissertations of ECM. In this study, we reviewed previously published studies related to ECM. Methods: We reviewed a total of 55 ECM-related studies published from 1965 to 2010 found on PubMed and various domestic Oriental medicine journals. Each thesis was classified as a theoretical, diagnostic, or remedy-related study. Results: 1. In the review of theoretical studies, shortly after ECM's introduction in 1965 by Kwon, the authors found studies on constitutional diseases, diets and food table which helped establish the background of ECM. ECM has further developed by comparing its theories with Sasang constitutional medicine, Huang-di-nei-jing, Saam, and Taegeuk acupuncture theories. 2. Research on diagnosis has been focused on its objectivity and accuracy. Constitution could be diagnosed by pulse-taking. To compensate for the lack of accuracy innate in pulse-taking, the Eight Constitution Questionnaire has been invented. 3. Remedies can be largely divided into acupuncture and diet. There were case studies comparing treatment effect of ECM acupuncture to other treatments. Diet related studies were carried out in the fields of immunology and nutrition. Conclusions: The authors reviewed studies that contributed to improved understanding of theories and clinical implications of ECM. Although there were various approaches to its theoretical and clinical grounds, more clinical research is needed. There is also a need to evaluate the accuracy of the experts' diagnoses of the constitution. The relationship between the diet and constitution also needs further research.
