지형조건에 따른 제주도의 일사량 분포 추정 (Estimation of Solar Radiation Distribution Considering the Topographic Conditions at Jeju Island)

  • The solar radiation is the primary energy source that drives many of the earth's physical and biological processes and climate change. Understanding its importance to the solar radiation observation is a key to understanding a broad range of natural processes, agricultural, energy and human activities. The purpose of this study is to estimate solar radiation using sunshine duration, and to estimate distribution of solar radiation using a topography factor considering surface slope and aspect in complex terrain. The result of regression analysis between ratio of solar radiation and sunshine duration from 2001 to 2010 shows high $R^2$ value of 0.878. Regression analyses indicated that topographic attributes including elevation, slope and aspect had significant effects on solar radiation. The variation of topographic factor with aspect and slope for the summer and winter are considered. The highest month of daily mean solar radiation at Jeju island appears in April of 20.61 $MJ{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}day^{-1}$, and the lowest month appears in December of 6.90 $MJ{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}day^{-1}$. These results provided useful quantitative information about the influence of topography on solar radiation in the island region.

경사가 다른 3차원 산악지형에서의 풍동실험을 통한 풍속할증평가 (Estimation of Topographic Effects over 3-Dimensional Hills with Different Slopes through Wind Tunnel Tests)

  • 본 논문에서는 풍동실험을 수행하여 3차원 산악지형에서의 풍속할증현상을 정량적으로 평가하고, 3차원 산악지형의 풍속할증현상에 대해 고찰하고자 한다. 풍속할증현상을 평가하기 위하여 건축구조설계기준에서 분류하고 있는 기울기에 준하여 다음의 $5.71^{\circ}, \;11.31^{\circ},\;16.70^{\circ},\;21.80^{\circ}$, 그리고 $26.57^{\circ}$의 각각 다른 경사를 가진 5가지 산악지형모형을 제작하였다. 풍동 실험결과, 다양한 위치에서 풍속할증계수가 평가되었다 풍동실험결과를 바탕으로 풍속할증영역을 산정해 보면 수평방향의 영역은 산의 전체 지역, 수직방향의 영역은 산의 높이의 3.5배로 산정되었다. 풍속할증현상은 산의 정상부에서 크게 발생하였고, 경사 I은 57%, 경사 II는 75%, 경사 III은 79%, 경사 IV는 81%, 경사V는 61%의 풍속이 증가하였다. 또한 산의 정상에서 같은 거리에 있는 풍방향의 위치보다 풍직각방향의 위치에서의 풍속이 더 크게 평가되었고 풍직각방향의 경사시작면에서 $10{\sim}30%$의 풍속이 증가하였다.

서울지역의 고해상도 수치표고모델기반 태양 에너지 산출 (Estimation of Solar Energy Based on High-Resolution Digital Elevation Model on the Seoul Area)

  • Solar energy is calculated using high-resolution digital elevation model (DEM). In focus on Seoul metropolitan area, correction coefficients of direct and diffuse solar energy with the topographic effect are calculated from DEM with 1720, 900, 450, 90 and 30 spatial resolutions ($m{\times}m$), respectively. The solar energy on the real surface with high-resolution is corrected using by the correction coefficients with topographic effect from the solar energy on horizontal surface with lower resolution. Consequently, the solar energy on the real surface is more detailed distribution than those of horizontal surface. In particular, the topographic effect in the winter is larger than summer because of larger solar zenith angle in winter. In Seoul metropolitan area, the monthly mean topographic effects are more than 200% in winter and within 40% in summer. And annual topographic effects are negative role with more than -60% and positive role with below 40%, respectively. As a result, topographic effect on real surface is not a negligible factor when calculating and analyzing solar energy using regional and global models.

지리정보시스템을 이용한 가야산국립공원의 잠재자연식생 추정 (Simulation Map of Potential Natural Vegetation in the Gayasan National Park using GIS)

  • 본 연구는 가야산국립공원을 대상으로 지리정보시스템(Geometric Information System, GIS)을 이용 식생분포에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 분석하여, 식생분포 확률을 기초로 가야산국립공원의 잠재자연식생을 추정하였다. 가야산국립공원의 현존식생조사 결과 128개의 군락이 분포하는 것으로 나타났다. 가야산국립공원의 고도, 경사, 사면방위, 지형지수, 연평균 온도, 온량지수, 잠재증발산량의 7개 요인을 중심으로 군락별 분포를 분석하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 분포확률을 추정하였다. 잠재자연식생의 분포확률이 0.3이상인 군락은 소나무군락의 출현확률이 55.80%로 가장 높았으며, 신갈나무군락이 44.05%, 상수리나무군락이 0.09%, 굴참나무군락이 0.06%로 나타났다. 식생의 분포에 영향을 주는 요인을 본 연구에서 제시한 요인으로 한정할 경우 가야산국립공원의 잠재자연식생은 신갈나무군락(43.1%)과 소나무군락(56.9%)이 나타날 것으로 예측되었다.

Structural damage distribution induced by Wenchuan Earthquake on 12th May, 2008

  • Based on the reconnaissance of buildings in Dujiangyan City during 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, China, structural damage characteristics and the spatial distribution of structural damage are investigated, and the possible reasons for the extraordinary features are discussed with consideration of the influence of urban historical evolution and spatial variation of earthquake motions. Firstly, the urban plan and typical characteristics of structural seismic damage are briefly presented and summarized. Spatial distribution of structural damage is then comparatively analyzed by classifying all surveyed buildings in accordance with different construction age, considering the influence of seismic design code on urban buildings. Finally, the influences of evolution of seismic design code, topographic condition, local site and distance from fault rupture on spatial distribution of structural damage are comprehensively discussed. It is concluded that spatial variation of earthquake motions, resulting from topography, local site effect and fault rupture, are very important factor leading to the extraordinary spatial distribution of building damage except the evolution of seismic design codes. It is necessary that the spatial distribution of earthquake motions should be considered in seismic design of structures located in complicated topography area and near active faults.

식생 분포 확률 추정을 통한 북한산 국립공원의 잠재자연식생 추정 (Estimation of Potential Natural Vegetation using the Estimate to Probability Distribution of Vegetation in Bukhansan National Park)

  • The study for the estimation potential natural vegetation was estimated the occurrence probability distribution using geographic information system(GIS) in Bukhansan National Park. Correlation and factor analysis were analyzed to estimate probability distribution. Coefficients were calculated by logistic regression analysis. Correlation coefficients were significantly at the 0.01 level. Commonality of elevation, annual mean temperature, warmth index and potential evapotranspiration were high value, but topographic index was low value. Communities of over the 0.3 points distribution probability, Quercus mogolica communities were the largest area, 76,940,900 $m^2$, Pinus densiflora communities area was 860,800 $m^2$, Quercus acutissima communities area was 500,100 $m^2$ and Quercus variabilis communities area was 1,000 $m^2$, but Q. aliena, Q. serrata, Carpinus laxiflora and Zelcova serrata communities was not appeared. Therefore, potential national vegetation of Bukhansan national park was likely to be Q. mongolica community, P. densiflora community, Q. acutissima community and Q. variabilis community.

확률강우량의 공간분포 추정을 위한 KED 기법의 적용 (Application of KED Method for Estimation of Spatial Distribution of Probability Rainfall)

  • 본 연구는 확률강우량에 대한 공간분포 추정시 신뢰도를 향상시키는데 있어서 외부변수 사용의 유효성을 평가하기 위하여 확률강우량과 단일 보조변수로서 지형특성인자들과의 상관관계를 고려한 KED 기법을 적용하였으며, 그 결과 강우공간분포 및 유역평균강우량의 추정에 있어서 확정론적 공간보간기법 및 크리징 기법과 대체로 비슷한 결과를 나타내는 것으로 분석되었으며, KED 및 크리징 기법에 대한 교차검증 결과 보조변수로서 표고를 사용한 KED 기법이 가장 좋은 결과를 나타내고는 있으나 다른 기법들과 비교했을 때 큰 차이를 보이지 않는 것으로 분석되었다.

Environmental Factors Affecting the Abundance and Presence of Tree Species in a Tropical Lowland Limestone and Non-limestone Forest in Ben En National Park, Vietnam

  • The effect of environmental variables on the presence and abundance of tree species in a tropical lowland undisturbed limestone and non-limestone forest in Ben En National Park, Vietnam was investigated. The relationships between 13 environmental variables and 29 tree species with a DBH ${\geq}10cm$, as well as between six 6 physical variables with 26 species of seedling and sapling communities were assessed by canonical correspondence analysis (CCA). Data concerning all tree species ${\geq}10cm$ DBH were collected from eighteen $400m^2$ sample plots, while the abundance of regeneration (all individuals ${\leq}5cm$ DBH) was counted in fifty $2{\times}20m$ strip-plots. The significance of species-environments correlations were tested by distribution-free Monte Carlo tests. The CCA of the 29 examined tree species and 13 environmental variables indicated that the presence and abundance of the tree species were closely related to topographic factors. We may confirm that soil properties including pH, soil moisture content, and soil textures, were the most crucial factor in tree species composition and their distribution. Several species including Pometia pinnata, Amesiodendron chinense, Gironniera cuspidate, Cinnamomum mairei, and Caryodaphnopsis tonkinensis were not controlled by soil properties and topographic variables. The CCA also indicated that the abundance of regeneration tree species at all sites had positive and significant correlations with soil depth, while the occurrence of several other tree species (such as Koilodepas longifolium and Aglaia dasyclada) was positively correlated with a higher slope and rocky outcrop.

Mapping the Potential Distribution of Raccoon Dog Habitats: Spatial Statistics and Optimized Deep Learning Approaches

  • The conservation of the raccoon dog (Nyctereutes procyonoides) in South Korea requires the protection and preservation of natural habitats while additionally ensuring coexistence with human activities. Applying habitat map modeling techniques provides information regarding the distributional patterns of raccoon dogs and assists in the development of future conservation strategies. The purpose of this study is to generate potential habitat distribution maps for the raccoon dog in South Korea using geospatial technology-based models. These models include the frequency ratio (FR) as a bivariate statistical approach, the group method of data handling (GMDH) as a machine learning algorithm, and convolutional neural network (CNN) and long short-term memory (LSTM) as deep learning algorithms. Moreover, the imperialist competitive algorithm (ICA) is used to fine-tune the hyperparameters of the machine learning and deep learning models. Moreover, there are 14 habitat characteristics used for developing the models: elevation, slope, valley depth, topographic wetness index, terrain roughness index, slope height, surface area, slope length and steepness factor (LS factor), normalized difference vegetation index, normalized difference water index, distance to drainage, distance to roads, drainage density, and morphometric features. The accuracy of prediction is evaluated using the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve. The results indicate comparable performances of all models. However, the CNN demonstrates superior capacity for prediction, achieving accuracies of 76.3% and 75.7% for the training and validation processes, respectively. The maps of potential habitat distribution are generated for five different levels of potentiality: very low, low, moderate, high, and very high.

지질조건에 따른 사태물질 이동특성 고찰 (A Study on Transportation Characteristics of Debris dependent on Geologic Conditions)

  • 토석류 산사태물질은 암석의 풍화 산물이므로 사태물질의 특성은 그 지역에 분포하는 기반암의 종류에 의존한다. 이 연구에서는 사태물질의 종류에 따른 이동특성에 대한 연구를 수행하기 위하여 암석의 풍화 특성과 지형 조건이 서로 다른 3개 지역에서 발생한 26개 산사태를 연구대상으로 하였다. 산사태 발생지점의 정밀야외 조사를 통하여 암석의 종류, 풍화 및 지형 특성 등을 분석하였고 사태물질의 입도분포와 체적에 따른 이동과 지형 특성과의 관계를 추적하였다 지형조건 중 사면의 경사변화는 사태물질 이동거리에 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 판단되며, 이는 경사 변화가 많을 경우 사태물질의 확산속도와 에너지가 변화하기 때문에 일정한 경사를 따라 사태물질이 흘러내리는 것보다 더 큰 이동거리를 보이는 것으로 해석하였다. 사태물질의 이동거리는 사태물질의 체적과 입도에도 큰 영향을 받는 것으로 파악되었다. 특히 사태물질 체적은 지질특성에 확연히 구별되어 반려암 지역의 경우 화강암 지역에 비해 $4\~5$배 크다. 사태물질의 입도측면에서 중립질의 화강암 분포지역보다 대규모 핵석이 발달하고 풍화심도가 불규칙적인 반려암 지역에서 사태물질 규모 및 이동거리가 훨씬 크게 나타난다.
