Estimating The Ratio of The CPA Distance to Velocity for Underwater Target using Bearing CPA (방위각 CPA를 이용한 수중표적의 CPA 거리와 속도의 비 추정)

  • In this paper, we present a method for estimating the ratio of CPA distance to velocity of underwater target using target bearing information in CPA situation. This ratio can be estimated by previous research which is Envelope CPA using proximity sensor but it has low performance if the target is close to receiver sensor or bigger interference caused by multi-path effects. Therefore we propose a Bearing CPA technique using a target bearing information as a way to overcome.

  • Lightweight Encryption Algorithm (LEA) that was standardized as a lightweight block cipher was implemented with 8-bit data path, and the vulnerability of LEA encryption processor to correlation power analysis (CPA) attack was analyzed. The CPA used in this paper detects correct round keys by analyzing correlation coefficient between the Hamming distance of the computed data by applying hypothesized keys and the power dissipated in LEA crypto-processor. As a result of CPA attack, correct round keys were detected, which have maximum correlation coefficients of 0.6937, 0.5507, and this experimental result shows that block cipher LEA is vulnerable to power analysis attacks. A masking method based on TRNG was proposed as a countermeasure to CPA attack. By applying masking method that adds random values obtained from TRNG to the intermediate data of encryption, incorrect round keys having maximum correlation coefficients of 0.1293, 0.1190 were analyzed. It means that the proposed masking method is an effective countermeasure to CPA attack.

  • This paper investigates the security of constant weight countermeasures, which aim to produce indistinguishable leakage from sensitive variables and intermediate variables, assuming a constant Hamming distance and/or Hamming weight leakages. To investigate the security of recent countermeasures, contrary to many related studies, we assume that the coefficients of the simulated leakage models follow a normal distribution so that we may construct a model with approximately realistic leakages. First, using our simulated leakage model, we demonstrate security holes in these previous countermeasures. Subsequently, in contrast to the hypotheses presented in previous studies, we confirm the resistance of these countermeasures to a standard correlation power analysis (CPA). However, these countermeasures can allow a bitwise CPA to leak a sensitive variable with only a few thousand traces.

  • This paper presents the development of a real-time algorithm for collision detection, collision avoidance and guidance to way-point. Three-dimensional point-mass aircraft models are used. For collision detection, time of closest point of approach(CPA) and distance at CPA are compared to threshold values. For collision avoidance, optimal acceleration input which maximizes the terminal relative distance is calculated based on optimal control theory. For guidance to way-point, proportional navigation guidance, the well-known method, is used. Two scenarios of encounter situation are illustrated to validate performance of proposed algorithm.

A Study on the Degree of Collision Risk with Relative Bearing at CPA (최근접점 상대방위에 따른 선박충돌위험알고리즘 개발에 관한 연구)

  • When VTSOs(Vessel Traffic Service Operators) determine the degree of collision risk of two vessels, they consider comprehensively information about each vessel's course, speed, DCPA, TCPA and encountering situation. In this study, we proposed an algorithm in which two relative bearings as information about two vessel's encountering situation are used to evaluate the degree of collision risk. In order to verify whether the proposed algorithm is reasonable, we set twenty encountering situations and conducted a survey of collision risk on fifty three VTSOs about those situations. By comparing the degrees of collision risk with the proposed algorithm to the results of the survey, we found that relative bearing at CPA is very important factor for VTSO to recognize the level of collision risk when two vessels are in encountering situation.

  • VTSO(Vessel Traffic Service Operator)는 양 선박의 충돌위험 정도를 판단할 때, 선박들의 침로와 속력, DCPA(Distance to CPA)와 TCPA(Time to CPA) 그리고 양 선박의 조우상황 등을 종합적으로 고려한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 VTS관점에서 선박충돌 위험도를 구하기 위하여 CPA에서의 양 선박 상대방위에 따른 조우상황 위험도와 선박의 길이를 고려한 양 선박의 범퍼영역에 대한 근접 위험도를 이용하여 두 선박의 다양한 교차상황에 따른 선박 충돌위험 값을 비교하였다.

An Evaluation of Effectiveness for Providing Safety Navigation Supporting Service : Focused on CPA/TCPA Information Supplying Service (안전 항해 지원 서비스 제공에 대한 유용성 평가(II) : CPA/TCPA 정보 제공 서비스를 대상으로)

  • In this paper, we proposed a service that provides CPA/TCPA information to ships, without ARPA/ATA devices to support decision making of the navigator for maritime safety based on various services at shore and off-shore. To verify the proposed service, we use SiNAS (scenario-based simulator for NAS) with CPA/TCPA information providing software to evaluate its usability, because executing the test in real ship has many limitations and difficulties. To do this, we specify two simulation scenarios for the required purpose, and we liaise twelve participants with various navigation experience to conduct the simulations. Also, we analyze the results of simulation using mission success or not, the minimum approaching distance with the target ship, the time of a recognition the target ship, the time of a first action for collision avoidance with the target ship, and so on. Then, we evaluate usability of the proposed service based on the three elements which are effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction.

  • This thesis describes collision avoidance using fuzzy logic based on "Right of way" rules of ICAO and FAA and pilot's experiences for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV). To apply the rules, we designed fuzzy logic based collision avoidance system. And we also designed decision logic for enable condition of collision avoidance system. Decision logic have three kinds of core key, i.e. Relative Range, Time of CPA(Closest Point of Approach) and Distance at CPA. Application of decision logic made a possible to avoid NMAC(Near Mid-Air Collision) and it has been verified through several simulations. To conclude, we proposed the method to carry out "See and Avoid" ability on UAVs, which is capability to mingle with manned aircraft in civil airspace.

  • This paper presents a real-time algorithm for collision detection, collision avoidance and guidance. Three-dimensional point-mass aircraft models are used. For collision detection, conflict probability is calculated by using the Monte-Carlo Simulation. Time at the closest point of approach(CPA) and distance at CPA are needed to determine the collision probability, being compared to certain threshold values. For collision avoidance, one of possible maneuver options is chosen to minimize the collision probability. For guidance to a designated way-point, proportional navigation guidance law is used. Two scenarios on encounter situation are studied to demonstrate the performance of proposed algorithm.

AIS 항적 데이터 기반 선박의 충돌 위험 영역 예측에 관한 기초 연구

  • 본 연구에서는 자율운항선박의 원격 관제 및 제어하는 과정에서 원격 운항자에게 사전 충돌 위험 정보를 제공하기 위해 선박자동식별시스템(AIS, Automatic Identification System)의 항적 정보를 토대로 자율운항선박의 운항 경로 상에 잠재된 충돌 위험 영역을 예측하기 위한 기초 연구를 수행하였다. 자율운항선박의 운항 경로 상에 근접한 타선의 AIS 정보에는 기본적으로 선박의 위치, 속도, 침로에 대한 정보가 반영되어 있으므로, 이러한 정보를 토대로 일정 시간 동안 운항 경로를 예측할 수 있다. 그리고 예측한 정보를 기반으로 대표적 충돌 위험 지수인 최근접점(CPA, Closest Point of Approach)과 최근접점 거리(DCPA, Distance to CPA) 정보를 활용하여 충돌 위험 영역을 2차원 공간상에서 예측하였다. 제안된 방법은 실제 AIS 항적 데이터를 활용한 수치 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 초기 결과를 검증하였다.
