The current research examines whether consumers' preference for credit card benefits (i.e., general credit card benefits vs. credit card benefits related to green life) differs according to their pro-environmental disposition. Specifically, we predict that for consumers with high (vs. low) pro-environmental disposition, their preference for credit card benefits related to green life will be higher, while preference for general credit card benefits will not be different between low and high pro-environmental disposition groups. An online survey (N = 487) was conducted to test the hypotheses. Consistent with the hypotheses, the results indicate that (1) respondents with high pro-environmental donation intention, as compared to those with low pro-environmental donation intention, had higher preference for credit card benefits related to green life; and (2) there was no significant difference in preference for general credit card benefits between high and low pro-environmental donation intention groups. We suggest an important insight into how credit card companies approaching ESG issues can increase their consumers' preference for credit card benefits relevant to green life, considering consumers' individual differences such as pro-environmental disposition.
This study aimed to investigate the relationship among the cultural disposition, morality, and psychological health of medical students to determine how these factors might relate to curriculum planning in medical education. Data was collected from a total of 186 medical students. The questionnaire used included the individual cultural disposition scale, the symptom checklist-90-revised, and the defining issues test. To evaluate individual cultural disposition, we classified students into four categories-low, individual, collective, or mixed cultural disposition-using individualism/collectivism and vertical/horizontal dimensions. We found that those who were younger and in earlier academic years had higher collectivism than individualism and the males had higher individualism than the females. There was no difference in morality or psychological health by the students' sex, age, or academic year. Horizontal collectivism and moral judgment showed a statistically significant correlation (r=0.150, p<0.05), as did stage 6 morality and symptoms of damaged psychological health (r=-0.156, p<0.05). Other than these relationships, no significant correlations between cultural disposition and morality or between morality and psychological health were found. Cultural disposition did have correlations with various aspects of psychological health; specifically, the highest correlation coefficients were found in the relationships between phobic anxiety and horizontal individualism, psychoticism and vertical collectivism, and hostility and horizontal collectivism. The four cultural disposition categories showed relationships not with morality but with psychological health factors including depression, anxiety, hostility, and phobic anxiety. We hope the results of this study can be used to improve the curriculum of medical education.
Purpose: This study was done to investigate the relationship between critical thinking disposition and clinical competence among nurses in general hospitals. Methods: This study was a descriptive-correlational study with a convenience sample of 560 nurses from 5 general hospitals. The data were collected by self-administered questionnaires. Critical thinking disposition was measured using the Critical Thinking Disposition Scale for Nursing Students. Clinical competence was measured using the Standardized Nurse Performance Appraisal Tool. Results: The mean score for critical thinking disposition and clinical competence was 3.37 and 4.10 respectively on a 5 point scale. A statistically significant correlation was found between critical thinking disposition and clinical competence. A regression model explained 72.8% of clinical competence. Prudence is the most significant predictor of clinical competence ($R^2=.728$). Conclusion: Study findings suggest that nurses with a higher level of critical thinking disposition would have a higher level of clinical competence. Furthermore, prudence might be the most important predictor of clinical competence. In order to strengthen clinical competence in nurses, the development and enhancement of critical thinking should be emphasized at the college level and nurses should be encouraged to make a clinical decision with greater prudence.
Purpose: The descriptive-correlational study was undertaken in order to investigate the relationships between critical thinking disposition and critical thinking skill in clinical nurses. Methods: A convenience sample of 50 registered nurses was obtained from E University Hospital. The instruments used in this study were general characteristics, California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory (CCTDI) and California Critical Thinking Skill Test(CCTST) developed by Facione & Facione (1994). The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan test and Pearson's Correlation Coefficient with SPSS 12.0 Program. Results: 1) There was a statistically significant difference in critical thinking disposition according to age (F=3.23, p=.03) and educational background (F=39.07, p=.00). 2) There was a statistically significant difference in critical thinking skill according to age (F=3.40, p=.02), educational background(F=32.51, p=.00), and period of professional nursing experience(F=3.56, p=.02). Conclusion: A significant positive correlation between critical thinking disposition and critical thinking skill was found(r=.68, p=.00). Critical thinking disposition and critical thinking skill according to age and educational background had statistically significant differences. Therefore, it is needed to emphasize the necessity of continuous education and training of nurses which prepare their critical thinking ability.

Purpose: This study was conducted to examine relationships between critical thinking disposition and multiple intelligences. Method: Participants were nursing students (N=186) who completed a questionnaire assessing critical thinking disposition and multiple intelligences. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, analysis of variance with post hoc comparison, and Pearson correlation coefficients. Results: For type of multiple intelligences, 32.9% of students had the strongest fit for "interpersonal intelligence" type and 20.1% for "intrapersonal intelligence" type. Mean score for critical thinking disposition was $3.42{\pm}0.37$. Factors related to critical thinking disposition were participation in club activities (F=5.962, p=.001) with a representative role in the club (t=2.140, p=.034). There were significant differences in interpersonal intelligence scores by personality traits (t=2.445, p=.015), participation in club activities (F=10.003, p<.001), and friendship (t=2.539, p=.012); and significant differences in intrapersonal intelligence scores by participation in club activities (F=3.862, p=.010), having a representative role in the club (t=2.101, p=.037), and friendship (t=2.220, p=.029). Conclusion: Results indicate that critical thinking disposition is significantly associated with multiple intelligences and suggest that multiple intelligences should be considered to enhance critical thinking disposition when tailored teaching is adopted in nursing education.
The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship of interpersonal relations disposition, appearance concern, appearance management behavior of men through a structural study method. Three hypotheses were established to verify the relationships among interpersonal relations disposition, appearance concern and appearance management behavior. The questionnaires were administered in the city of Daegu to 201 males in their 20s to 50s. The SPSS 20.0 package was utilized for data analysis, which included frequency analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. Also, Amos 21.0 program was utilized for a confirmative factor analysis( CFA) and a structural equation modeling(SEM) analysis. The results of this study are as follows; First, interpersonal relations disposition showed a positive influence on appearance concern. Second, appearance concern had a positive influence on appearance management behavior. Third, the interpersonal relations disposition showed a positive influence on appearance management behavior. In conclusion, interpersonal relations disposition, appearance concern, appearance management behavior of men are found to have a correlation.
Purpose: Clinical decision-making carried out by nurses is a complex process that influences the quality of care provided and various patient outcomes. This study examined the relationship between critical thinking disposition and clinical decision-making abilities in home health advanced practice nurses. Method: The study had a non-experimental correlational design. Data were collected from 100 home health advanced practice nurses in 20 hospitals. Results: The mean critical thinking disposition score was $3.69{\pm}.39$ out of 5 and the mean score for clinical decision-making abilities was $3.48{\pm}.22$ out of 5. In this correlation analysis, a significant positive correlation (r=.58, p<.001) was found between critical thinking disposition and clinical decision-making abilities of home health advanced practice nurses. Conclusion: In order to improve the clinical decision-making ability of home health advanced practice nurses, we need to improve their critical thinking disposition. In order to make this change, appropriate training program are needed to increase the critical thinking disposition and clinical decision-making abilities of home health advanced practice nurses.
