This study was undertaken to review the relationship between middle-school students' food-behavior and their health conditions/school performances. For this purpose, 495 male and female middle-school students were sampled form seven middle schools located in Seoul for a questionnaire survey. The surveyed data were analysed with simple frequency, percentage, t-test, chi-square test, dispersion analysis, Pearson's correlation and hierarchical multiple-regression analysis which make use of the SPSS/PC+ package system. The results of survey can be summarized as follows; Most of students had three meals a day regularly, but some female students used to skip breakfast or supper. The amount of a mael was adequate. Their main night-smacks were fruits. The problem perceived by students was unbalanced meal ; Female students took more snack than that of male students. They usually took a snack a day. All students tended to take delicious snacks. The most favorate smack of students was fruits. Most students did not suffer any serious diseases, but some had one or more respiratory diseases. Female students had some or other physical troubles in their eyes, mouth, digesting organs, muscle/bone, skin and had fatigue. Female students had mental problems of depression, uneasiness and hostility. The average I.Q. of students was 117.4, and those who had higher I.Q. got much higher scores. The regularity and amount of meal and intake of animal food were all positively related with the growth of height and weight. And the taller, the higher I.Q. they had. Those students who took meals three times regularly and adequately, who had no coffee and snack and who took balanced meals were healthier in both physical and mental terms. In particular, those who had adequate amount of breakfast regularly were not only healthier but also had higher I.Q. and school performance.

Optical wavelength division multiplexing signals of eight non-return-to-zero 10 Gb/s channels were transmitted on the long-haul link up to 720 km. The link span was composed of 80 km single mode fiber, dispersion compensation fiber for complete compensation, and EDFAs. A circulating loop method was applied to the link experiment and the loop was optimized for the transmission link. Wavelength-dependent gain variation of EDFA was compensated using EDFAs of opposite gain slopes without expensive gain flattening filters. Average OSNR was aggravated to 22 dB and the worst OSNR channel variation was 9.7 dB after the transmission. It was confirmed by analyzing optical spectra that this OSNR variation was mainly caused by the hole burning effect of EDFA.

In ATM traffic multiplexing, the cell clumping and the cell dispersion are occured due to the cell delay variance(CDV) which changes the traffic characteristics. These cell variances increase the burstiness of t.he cell streams and make the network congested. The function of the traffic shaping is necessary to transmit the input streams into the networks or into the traffic policing schemes with some intevals. Most of the existing studies regard the input traffics as the traffic with the identical characteristics. In this study, the traffic shaping is processed by considering the traffic characteristICS with t.he loss-sensitive traffic and the delay-sensitive traffic. The traffic shaping model and the traffic shaping algorithm which considers the" characteristics of input streams have been presented. The traffic effect On t.he CDV size is also studied. The proposed scheme is compared to Virtual Scheduling Algorithm(VSA) and the efficiency of the proposed scheme is evaluated. According to the simulation results, t.he mean delay is decreased about 12% in delay-sensitive traffic and the traffic burstiness is decreased about 11 % in loss-sensitive traffic.

In this paper we present that the effects of polymer adsorption on stabilities and CMP performance of ceria abrasive particles. Characterization of ceria abrasive particles in the presence of poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) was performed by the measurements of adsorbed amounts of PVP, average sizes, and the back scattering intensities of the ceria abrasive particles as functions of PVP molecular weight and PVP concentration. The ceria abrasive particles in the presence of PVP were used to polish $SiO_2\;and\;Si_3N_4$ films deposited on Si wafers in order to understand the effect of PVP adsorption on chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) performance, together with ceria abrasive particles without PVP. Adsorption of PVP on the ceria abrasive particles enhanced the stability of ceria abrasive particles due to steric stabilization of the thick adsorbed layer of PVP. Removal rates of the deposited $SiO_2\;and\;Si_3N_4$ films by the ceria abrasive particles in the presence of PVP were much lower than those in the absence of PVP and their magnitudes were decreased with an increase in the concentration of free PVP chains in the dispersion media. This suggests that the CMP performance in the presence of PVP could be mainly controlled by the hydrodynamic interactions between the adsorbed PVP chains and the free ones. Moreover, the molecular weight dependence of PVP on the removal rates of the deposited films was hardly observed. On the other hand, high removal rate selectivity between the deposited films in the presence of PVP was not observed.
This study was made on the poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc) and poly(vinyl acetate- ethylene) (VAE) emulsion polymer blend which used PVA as protective colloid, and the PVA used as protective colloid was existed in each emulsion film before blend and even in the film after the blend consecutively. It makes us expect excellent adhesive power among particles that form the blend. Emulsion blends with different Tg are important target of concerning, and PVAc/VAE emulsion blend suggested simple and excellent research method. As a result of blend, elongation was lowered by the increase of PVAc, and the plasticizer used in making PVAc affected on the Tg of blend and lowered Tg of VAE emulsion, and the synergy effect of two blends was seen for the tensile strength, thermal resistance, and adhesive strength.

In this paper, influences of a ultra wideband (UWB) antenna on impulse channel measurement are investigated in time domain (TD) and frequency domain (FD) as well. Firstly, impulse response of an UWB antenna is obtained and then using the result of impulse response of the UWB antenna, influences of the antenna on impulse radio channel is analyzed. Furthermore, using the impulse response of the UWB anenna, method of impulse radio channel analysis is presented by excluding the effect of the antenna from an impulse radio channel. For verifying the theory, a modified conical monopole antenna is designed for measuring impulse radio channel and its impulse response is obtained. After that, in order to investigate the effects of the UWB antenna on an impulse radio channel, multipath environments are set up in an anechonic chamber and transmission coefficient for each multipath environment is measured with an aid of vector network analyzer. Data measured in frequency domain is transformed into those in time domain by way of signal processing. Measurement shows that such properties of the antenna as dispersion and ringing affect impulse radio channel. Moreover, using the impulse response of the antenna, impulse response of only multipath channel is obtained.

Charateristics of Ansan and Boryong coal fly ashes collected at different seasons were investigated for the recycling them as ceramic raw materials. The effect of pH treatment on the classification of Ansan coal fly ashes by elutriation was discussed. Charateristics of ansan and boryong coal fly ashes were not significantly changed with power plants and seasons. major crystalline phases were mullite and quartz. These results suggested that coal fly ashes cab be used as raw materials instead of clay minerals. However, particle size distribution was very broad from a few $\mu\textrm{m}$ to over $100\;\mu\textrm{m}$. Especially, ansan coal fly ashes have various morphologies. Therefore, coal fly ashes should be classified before using as raw materials. Because of higher dispersion by pH treatment, spherical cenospheres were mainly collected in the 4th step and particle size distribusion was also decreased by elutriation for the ansan coal fly ashes. The specific surface area of the sample collected in the 4th step was $1.24\;m^{2}/g$ which was smaller than that of not treated Ansan coal fly ashes.

Purpose: The goal of this research is to find the role of collagen membrane, which can reduce physical damage, as a scaffold for possible alternative to the corticotomy which causes Regional Acceleratory Phenomenon (RAP). Materials and Methods: The experiments were carried out on 12 New Zealand white rabbits, approximately 3.5 kg in bodyweight. We made an incision on the skin of the mandibular border and applied 37% phosphoric acid and collagen membrane to the mandibular bone surface of the first group (experimental group), and only phosphoric acid to the second group (control group). After 3 days, 1 week, and 2 weeks, 4 rabbits each were sacrificed and specimens were obtained. Each specimen was stained by H&E and Tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP), and histological changes were observed by light microscope. Results: The demineralization of the experimental group was weak compared to the control group. It also showed a gradual increase of demineralization (after 3 days, 1 week, and 2 weeks) and the control group showed more extensive demineralization than the experimental group. Conclusion: This study demonstrates the amount of demineralization as a result of using phosphoric acid, and as time went by, demineralization increased. The absorbable collagen membrane was used as a scaffold to increase bone demineralization effect and prevent dispersion to adjacent tissues, but rather the amount of bone demineralization decreased. Therefore, the role of collagen membrane as a scaffold for RAP was weak.
Recent changes in the disaster environment have greatly increased the possibility of internal erosion in deteriorated reservoirs; thus, countermeasure methods are required to enhance the drainage performance of embankments. Sand filters have been mainly used to prevent internal erosion; however, due to the sand depletion and environmental problems, new alternative materials are required to replace the sand in the filter zone. In this study, crushed stone was used instead of sand as a material that could satisfy permeability, material supply, demanding conditions, and economic efficiency. Although crushed stone has excellent drainage performance, it has a clogging phenomenon due to its high permeability. Accordingly, the materials need to be separated with a geotextile wrapping method. Additionally, the 3D numerical analysis and a large model experiment were conducted to evaluate the seepage characteristics and in-site application of the crushed stone filter. As a result, the crushed stone filter showed an excellent dispersion effect by reducing the pore water pressure by about 9.5 times that of the sand filter. In addition, it was shown that the safety factor for piping increased significantly by reducing internal erosion. When comparing the economics and supply and demand conditions of the material, crushed stone was evaluated as an effective method to reduce the internal erosion of embankments at deteriorated reservoirs.
In this study, conductive EVA foams including multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT), glass beads were prepared. The electrical conductivity and physical properties of the foams were confirmed with varying amount of MWCNT, mixing time, and amount of glass beads. The electrical conductivity increased with the amount of MWCNT. Dispersity of MWCNT in EVA foams were improved with glass beads. It can be suggested that conductive EVA foams can be successfully prepared with improved dispersity of MWCNT in ethylene-vinyl acetate by using glass beads.
