Direct Torque Control of Five-leg Dual-PMSM Drive Systems for Fault-tolerant Purposes

  • To enhance the reliability of two-motor drive systems, this paper proposes an improved direct torque control (DTC) scheme (P-DTC) for five-leg dual-PMSM drive systems. First, the topology of a five-leg dual-PMSM drive system is illustrated. To clarify the analysis of the P-DTC, the standard DTC scheme for three-phase drive systems is presented. The operation of a five-leg dual-PMSM drive system is classified into three situations according to the definitions of the switching-vector unions. Compared with the existing DTC scheme (R-DTC), the P-DTC can minimize the replacement of active switching-vectors to zero switching-vectors. When this replacement cannot be avoided, the P-DTC uses a proposed master-slave selection principle to minimize the system error. Comparing with the R-DTC, the P-DTC has lower torque ripples, a wider speed range and a faster torque increasing response. Experiments have been carried out in the coupling and independent modes, and the effectiveness of the P-DTC is verified by the obtained results.

Sliding Mode Control Based DTC of Sensorless Parallel-Connected Two Five-Phase PMSM Drive System

  • This paper presents a sensorless direct torque control (DTC) combined with sliding mode approach (SM) and space vector modulation (SVM) to achieve mainly a high performance and reduce torque and flux ripples of a parallel-connected two five-phase permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) drive system. In order to increase the proposed drive robustness and decrease its complexity and cost, the rotor speeds, rotor positions, fluxes as well as torques are estimated by using a sliding mode observer (SMO) scheme. The effectiveness of the proposed sliding mode observer in conjunction with the sliding mode control based DTC is confirmed through the application of different load torques for wide speed range operation. Comparison between sliding mode control and proportional integral (PI) control based DTC of the proposed two-motor drive is provided. The obtained speeds, torques and fluxes responses follow their references; even in low and reverse speed operations, load torques changes, and machines parameters variations. Simulation results confirm also that, the ripples of the torques and fluxes are reduced more than 3.33% and 16.66 %, respectively, and the speed overshoots and speed drops are reduced about 99.85% and 92.24%, respectively.

  • 선형유도전동기의 순시 속도에서의 1,2차 상대 위치이동으로 나타나는 동 특성과 이 때의 단부효과를 고려한 등가회로 해석방법을 이용하여 시스템을 모델링하고 SVPWM 구동시스템에 적용한 정속도 제어 특성을 부하조건에 따른 동작특성으로 시뮬레이션하여 SVPWM 구동 편측형 선형유도전동기시스템에 적용가능성을 입증하였다.

  • Direct torque control(DTC) is known to produce quick response in ac drives. Some drawbacks of the classical DTC are the relatively large torque ripple in a low speed range and notable current pulsation during steady state. They are reflected speed response and increased acoustical noise. In this paper, The DTC quick response are preserved at transient state, while better qualify steady state performance is produced by Space Vector Modulation(SVM). It is able to reduce the acoustical noise, torque ripple and current pulsation during steady state. The system presented are closed loop stator flux and torque observer for wide speed range that inputs are currents and voltages sensing of motor terminal. Simulation results for the 2.2kw general purposed induction motor are presented and discussed.

  • 종래 직접 퍼지제어기에서는 누적 오차의 발생과 제어입력의 누적으로 인한 과도응답의 성능을 악화시킬 수 있으며 이러한 단점의 보완은 제어입력만으로 결정하기 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기위해 과도상태에서 나타나는 오버슈트와 상승시간을 고려하기 위해 퍼지제어기를 이용한 재설정 변화분을 설정하며 이를 직접 퍼지제어기에 추가하여 병렬형태로 구성된 새로운 퍼지제어기를 구성한다. 본 논문에서 제시한 새로운 퍼지제어기를 IPMSM 드라이브에 적용하여 새로운 퍼지제어기가 직접 퍼지제어기와 비교하여 응답성능이 우수함을 제시하고 그 타당성을 입증한다.

  • 본 논문은 이중여자 유도형(DFIG) 풍력발전시스템에서 유효전력과 무효전력을 직접적으로 제어하기 위한 슬라이딩 모드 기반의 직접전력제어기법을 제시한다. 제안하는 제어기법은 슬라이딩 모드 기반의 전력제어기부와 전력회로부의 스위칭 지령값을 위한 공간전압벡터변조방식(SVM)으로 구성된다. 본 논문에서 제안하고 있는 공간전압벡터 변조방식을 이용한 슬라이딩 모드 기반의 전력제어기법은 고정된 스위칭 주파수에서 기기상수의 변화에 강인한 전력제어가 가능하고, 기존의 자속기준제어기법(FOC)에서 사용되었던 전류제어기와 축변환 없이 직접적으로 전력을 제어함으로써 제어구조가 간단하다. 시뮬레이션과 실험 결과를 통해 제안하는 제어기법의 타당성을 확인한다.

인덕션 방식을 이용한 평면 스테이지의 동특성 개선 (Improvement of Dynamic Characteristic of Large-Areal Planar Stage Using Induction Principle)

  • Instead of direct driving like BLDC, the induction principle is adopted as a driving one for planar stage. The stage composed of four linear induction motors put in square type is activated by two-axial forces; low-frequency attractive force and thrust force of the linear induction motors. Here, the modified vector control whose new inputs are q-axis current and dc current biased to three phase current instead of d-axis current or flux current is applied extensively to overall motion of the stage. For the developed system, the precision step test and the constant velocity test are tried to guarantee its feasibility for TFT-LCD pattern inspection. However, to exclude a discontinuity due to phase shift and minimize a force ripple synchronized with the command frequency, the initial system is revised to the antagonistic structure over the full degree of freedom. Concretely describing, the porous air bearings guide an air-gapping of the stage up and down and a pair of liner induction motors instead of single motor are activated in the opposite direction each other. The performances of the above systems are compared from trapezoid tracking test and sinusoidal test.

Simulation results of the suggest system for the 2.2 [kW] general purposed induction motor are presented and discussed.

  • 유도전동기의 고성능 벡터제어를 수행하기 위해서는 회전자 자속의 정확한 추정이 필요하다. 유도전동기의 회전자 자속관측기들에서는 자속추정시에 전동기 상수들이 사용되므로 이들의 변동에 따라 자속추정에 영향을 받는다. 본 논문에서는 파라미터 민감도를 이용하여 파라미터 변동에 의한 자속관측기들의 추정자속 오차를 해석하였다. 파라미터 민감도는 시스템 파라미터의 변동분에 대한 시스템 전달함수의 변동분의 비로 정의되므로 실제 자속과 추정 자속의 비를 전달함수로 정의하고 해석을 수행하였다. 제안된 해석방법의 타당성을 확인하기 위해 시뮬레이션과 실험을 행하였다.

PWM-based Integral Sliding-mode Controller for Unity Input Power Factor Operation of Indirect Matrix Converter

  • An indirect matrix converter (IMC) is a modern power generation system that enables a direct ac/ac conversion without the need for any bulky and limited lifetime electrolytic capacitor. This system also allows four-quadrant operation, generation of sinusoidal output voltage waveforms with variable frequency and amplitude, and control of input power factor. This study proposes a pulse-width modulation-based sliding-mode controller to achieve unity input-power factor operation of the IMC independently of the active power exchanged with the grid, as well as a fast dynamic response. The designed equivalent control law determines, at each sampling period, the appropriate q-axis component of the modulated input current to be injected into the grid through the LC input filter. An integral term of the error is included in the expression of the sliding surface to increase the accuracy of the control method. A double space vector modulation method is used to synthesize the direction of the space vector of the input currents as required by the sliding-mode controller and the space vectors of the target output voltages. Simulation and experimental results are provided to show the effectiveness and evaluate the performance of the proposed control method.
