The digital images to be used for digital vision measurement like digital face mapping and photogrammetric monitoring in construction could be influenced by various conditions such as a kind of light, the intensity of radiation, camera set-up and so on. Because it is very difficult to assess the rock mass from the digital images acquired under different circumstances, some tests and analysis are carried out to modify the images to be suitable and consistent for the digital image optimization. As a result, the recommended conditions for the acquisition of optimized digital images are suggested.

In this study, we present a mapping framework for 3D spatial reconstruction of digital twin model using navigation and perception sensors mounted on an Autonomous Surface Vehicle (ASV). For improving the level of realism of digital twin models, 3D spatial information should be reconstructed as a digitalized spatial model and integrated with the components and system models of the ASV. In particular, for the 3D spatial reconstruction, color and 3D point cloud data which acquired from a camera and a LiDAR sensors corresponding to the navigation information at the specific time are required to map without minimizing the noise. To ensure clear and accurate reconstruction of the acquired data in the proposed mapping framework, a image preprocessing was designed to enhance the brightness of low-light images, and a preprocessing for 3D point cloud data was included to filter out unnecessary data. Subsequently, a point matching process between consecutive 3D point cloud data was conducted using the Generalized Iterative Closest Point (G-ICP) approach, and the color information was mapped with the matched 3D point cloud data. The feasibility of the proposed mapping framework was validated through a field data set acquired from field experiments in a inland water environment, and its results were described.
The digital images contain a significant amount of redundancy and require a large amount of data for their storage and transmission. Therefore, the image compression is necessary to treat digital images efficiently. The goal of image compression is to reduce the number of bits required for their representation. The image compression can reduce the size of image data using contractive mapping of original image. Among the compression methods, the mapping is affine transformation to find the block(called range block) which is the most similar to the original image. In this paper, we applied the neural network(SOM) in encoding. In order to improve the performance of image compression, we intend to reduce the similarities and unnecesaries comparing with the originals in the codebook. In standard image coding, the affine transform is performed with eight isometries that used to approximate domain blocks to range blocks.

An innovative in-core neutron flux mapping system has been developed and applied successfully for service in a commercial pressurized water reactor. With the benefit of double indexing path selector (Dip $s^{ⓡ}$) mechanism, the reliability of the detector drive system has been improved five times higher than that of conventional systems, and the problems caused by the serious friction generated between the detector cable and guide tubing has been solved completely because the Dip $s^{ⓡ}$ architecture allows the detector guide tubings to have larger curvature and shorter length in nature. The simple and fast maintenance is particularly emphasized in the detector drive system to secure minimum radiation exposure to the maintenance personnel by optimizing the number of components and providing easy access to the components. The programmable logic controller based digital controller with Window $s^{ⓡ}$ based operator s console provides fully automated and user friendly operation and maintenance support means.

Recently according to supplying high resolution satellite imagery, we take much interest in the update and the revision of digital map and thematic map based on the satellite images. This study analyzed the modeling accuracy for QuickBird imagery and produced the digital map on a scale 1 to 5000 by way of showing an example. find an exhibition digital map was analyzed the positioning accuracy for the presentation of the possibility and the utility in the production and the revision to the digital map using QuickBird imagery. In order to analyze accuracies of constructed data, the digital topographic maps of 1:5000 scale which were produced by Korea National Geographic information Institute(NGI) were used. As a result, the RMSE was calculated at ${\pm}2.207$ m and 2.39 m in x and y direction respectively and it is within the permissible accuracy required for mapping on a scale of 1 to 5000 on the mapping rule notified by the National Geographic Information Institute. It is expected that the results of this study will be fully used in the field of large scale digital mapping and be utilized as basic information in applied field of the production and the revision of digital map.
Normally, a digital geologic map can be defined as mappable one whose spatial information with geographic information details and geologic database attribute, recorded in a digital format that is readable by computer. It shows fundamentally two different conceptual perspectives: cartography for digital mapping and analysis for geo-data processing. While, as both aspects basically relate to natural entities and their interpretation of complex features fused with multi-sources, digital geo-data mapping or geologic mapping, it should be distinguished from digital mapping in engineering such as UIS(Urban Infomation System) and AM/FM(Automated Mapping/Facilities Management). Furthermore, according to short-cycled development of GIS(Geographic Information System) software architecture based on IT(Information Technology) and wide expansion of GIS applications' fields, the importance of domain analysis and application model is emphasized at digital geologic informatizaion. In this paper, first terms and concepts of geo-data model with general data modeling aspects are addressed, and then case histories for geo-data modeling and several approaches for data modeling in GIS application fields are discussed. Lastly, tentative conceptual geo-data modeling by using UML(Unified Modeling Language) of OO(Object-oriented) concepts with respect to USGS/AASG geo-data mode is attempted. Through this approach, the main benefits for standardization and implementation lineage with conceptual model in consideration to reusability are expected. Conclusively, it is expected that geo-information system and its architecture by UML is the new coming key approach for the GIS application in geo-sciences.

In this paper, The proposed algorithm consists of three steps. In the first step, TD(Transition Density) calculation has to be performed. a CLB-based CPLD low-power technology mapping algorithm considered a Trade-off is proposed. To perform low-power technology mapping for CPLDs, a given Boolean network has to be represented in a DAG. Total power consumption is obtained by calculating the switching activity of each node in a DAG. In the second step, the feasible clusters are generated by considering the following conditions: the number of inputs and outputs, the number of OR terms for CLB within a CPLD. The common node cluster merging method, the node separation method, and the node duplication method are used to produce the feasible clusters. In the final step, low-power technology mapping based on the CLBs packs the feasible clusters. The proposed algorithm is examined using SIS benchmarks. When the number of OR terms is five, the experiment results show that power consumption is reduced by 30.73% compared with TEMPLA, and by 17.11 % compared with PLA mapping.
Mapping systems using Satellite Imagery has not been well-established compare to conventional Arial Photograph mapping systems. In order for satellite imagery to produce a stable quality of maps, it requires to follow the standard mapping procedures. In this satellite imagery study, we proposed four methods of mapping procedures. Mapping methods were established by generating trial maps and analyzing types of input data and functions of DPW (Digital Photogrammetric Workstation). On quantitative aspect, accuracy of each steps were measured by increasing 2 GCPs each time from the minimum of 6 GCPs. In DLT, with the minimum of 10 points, RMSE is 2 pixels at most. Besides that, interpretation and stereoscopic plotting using KOMPSAT-1 imagery and other simulated imagery was performed. The tests resulted that, for KOMPSAT-1 (6.6m) stereoscopic images, the possibility of interpretation is 44.79% and possibility of stereoscopic plotting is 43.75%. In the other hand, for simulated imagery (1m), the possibility of interpretation is 60.92% and possibility of stereoscopic plotting is 55.18%.

The Organizations working with technological projects will be more and more common to connect consultants. Those who shall carry out the pre-analysis of the projects ought to have a professional knowledge to the area about economical methods with information technology and changed technology of surveying and mapping. New surveying and mapping methods, such as TotalStation, GPS, orthophoto, digital map, and satellite remote sensing, have totally changed the old concept of surveying. Also the technology for the new mapping has greatly changed from analog to analytical to digital during the past 50 years. Now, the proper choice of surveying and mapping methods becomes a decision on cost and efficiency rather than the use of a particular technology. As an example, GPS equipment dose cost considerably more than traditional surveying equipment, but the advantages it provides make it very cost-effective. In this study, the cost and benefit factors of the surveying and mapping projects are evaluated independently and benefit/cost ratio(B/C ratio) is used in benefit-cost evaluation of the different surveying methods. The benefit-cost model of surveying and mapping methods will produce economical result in the whole projects.
