Metadata schemas are well recognized as one of the important technological components for archiving and preservation of digital resources. However, a single standard is not enough to cover the whole lifecycle for archiving and preserving digital resources. This means that we need to appropriately select metadata standards and combine them to develop metadata schemas to cover the whole lifecycle of resources (or records). Creating a unified framework to understand the features of metadata standards is necessary in order to improve metadata interoperability that covers the whole resource lifecycle. In this study, the author approached this issue from the task-centric view of metadata, proposing a Task model as a framework and analyzing the feature of archival metadata standards. The proposed model provides a new scheme to create metadata element mappings and to make metadata interoperable. From this study, the author found out that no single metadata standard can cover the whole lifecycle and also that an in-depth analysis of mappings between metadata standards in accordance with the lifecycle stages is required. The author also discovered that most metadata standards are primarily resource-centric and the different tasks in the resource lifecycle are not reflected in the design of metadata standard data models.

Academic research libraries are seeking a long-term preservation plan for journals for cost-effective stewardship. The emergence of shared print archives has given the library community the opportunity to resolve the problem of the lack of library storage and build a collaborative long-term archiving plan for the print journals. The purpose of this study is to examine Western Regional Storage Trust(WEST), the largest print journal archiving program in North America, and identify their strategies for building a distributed, retrospective print repository service for journals. Based on the analysis, this article will discuss the development of new trends of collaborative library management in a digital age.

PACS(Picture Archiving Communication System)를 바탕으로 하는

Electronic record types are becoming diverse, and "composite electronic records," which are made up of various types of electronic records associated with functionality or user interaction that does not exist in current electronic document formats, are increasing. To ensure a continuous access to composite electronic records, metadata construction is a prerequisite for electronic records archiving. In this paper, we propose a metadata that can support archiving of composite electronic records associated with interactive functionality. The common elements were derived from an analysis of both domestic and international file format registry projects, and metadata elements related to functional requirements were identified from the analysis of the records on nursing education e-learning contents. We proposed the metadata elements for archiving composite electronic records, which consist of 25 high-level elements and 138 subelements.

YouTube videos of public institutions are digital public records that need to be managed and preserved. As such, the video and the metadata describing the video should also be preserved. This study aims to select the key metadata elements necessary for archiving videos published on YouTube by public institutions. To this end, five high-level areas, namely the description, structure, management, preservation, and user participation, and the metadata elements of 10 subareas, were designed by referring to NAK 8, PREMIS, ISAD(G), and YouTube metadata. Afterward, the metadata elements designed by 14 experts were verified. Lastly, the validity and reliability of the evaluation results were verified. Of the 63 elements, 33 satisfied the validity and reliability criteria. Thus, these elements were selected as the core metadata for archiving YouTube videos in public institutions.

The recent digital transformation in many industries has led to an explosion of data, which has exponentially increased the amount of data that companies need to generate and process. As a result, enterprises are leveraging ERP systems to manage and analyze large amounts of data in real time. However, due to cost and time issues in processing large amounts of data in existing ERP systems, it is essential to apply data archiving technology that can compress and store data in real time in existing systems. Therefore, this paper aims to identify the trends of the target technology by utilizing patent data on ERP-based real-time data archiving technology, analyze the core patents, and create new core patents based on them.
The purpose of this paper is to analyze and compare the existing digital media asset management systems and develop a prospective implementation model. As a result of conducting this research, it is recommended that the prospective system consists of an archiving server, a processing server, and an interface system. This result suggests important starting point to develop a resonable and reliable implementation model for digital media asset management system.

This paper suggests efficient policies of the long term preservation and digital archiving of Korean electronic journals based on the OAIS Reference Model. For this purpose, a questionnaire survey and interviews have been conducted to the institutions which are providing access to Korean electronic journals. Information packages and functional workflows which suggested in the OAIS Reference Model are applied to improve the long term preservation.

As a mixture of both words 'Web' and 'Cartoon'. Webtoon is a sort of cartoons that come up with development of information technology. Web-toon is not just a cartoon but an OSMU for culture industries such as movies, dramas, games and more. While Web-toon's value is increasing, activities of securing and managing it as archives seem quite slow. To preserve web-toon as a web archives and digital contents which has long-term archival value effectively web archiving system should be required. This study analyzes webtoon's type and features. Also, requirements for web archiving system are extracted from case analysis of existing digital archives. With the results, this study proposes a method to design and implement web-toon archives based on OAIS reference model.

The current study aims at reviewing digital archives and preservation research trends from diverse disciplines in order to shed light on what have been accomplished so far as well as what should be done to make progress. A total of 115 research articles have been selected from 2 journals of archival science and 28 journals of library and information science, computer science, and others. Selected articles are categorized into four subject areas. For each subject area, research trends are reviewed.
