  • The restriction of the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment legislation mandates the substitution of lead and other hazardous substances in electronics products by July 2006. Due to this legislative pressure, the electronics industry is moving to adoption of lead free solders. In this paper, we investigated a flux to restrict generating electrochemical migration in lead-free solder. The lead-free solders used in this study were Sn-0.7Cu-0.01P and Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu. To measure the resistance of electrochemical migration, the dew-cycle test and water drop test were adopted. As the result, now flux having high durable of electrochemical migration was developed.

  • 가전산업과 연계하여 유도가열 기술을 응용한 대표적인 시스템으로 IH압력밥솥을 예로 들 수 있다. 유도가열 코일에서 고주파 자속의 의해 발생된 와전류가 결합된 밥솥을 가열하기 때문에 유도가열 코일에는 고주파 손실을 줄이기 위해 Litz wire가 사용된다 이에 본 논문은 특히 IH압력밥솥에 사용되는 Litz wire를 선정하는 데 있어 중요한 요소가 되는 소선경, 가닥수별 AC DC 저항 및 손실계산 그리고 Cost 예측 방법을 제안한다.

  • This paper describes design and implementation of home network control protocol for networked home appliances. The proposed network protocol has four-layered protocol structure and device-modem interface structure for the flexibility of modems based on power line communication. The standard message set is specified to guarantee the interoperability between various home appliances The proposed protocol can be easily implemented because it has minimum network overhead.

  • Various types of refrigerators become popular in the market such as a common refrigerator, kimchi refrigerator and wine cellar. It is required to develop a multi type refrigerator combining these refrigerators to save space and energy consumption. In this study, the performance of a multi type refrigerator, which consists of one machine room and three evaporators, was measured in a bench type multi refrigerator. The multi type refrigerator was tested by varying the number of refrigerator cabinet, refrigerant charge, and temperature conditions. In addition, the multi type refrigerator with a suction line heat exchanger(SLHX) was tested to improve system performance. Based on the experimental data, the multi type refrigerator showed better performance than the conventional refrigerator(single type system). Besides, the COP of the single system increased from 1.0 to 1.37, and those of the dual and triple system increased from 1.29 to 1.39, and 1.22 to 1.51, respectively, by applying the SLHX.

  • This paper presents the friction and anti-wear characteristics of nano-oil with n mixture of a refrigerant oil and carbon nano-particles in the thrust slide-bearing of scroll compressors. Frictional loss in the thrust slide-bearing occupies a large part of total mechanical loss in scroll compressors. The characteristics of friction and anti-wear Lising nano-oil is evaluated using the thrust bearing tester for measuring friction surface temperature and the coefficient of friction at the thrust slide-bearing as a function of normal loads up to 4,000 N and orbiting speed up to 3,200 rpm. It is found that the coefficient of friction increases with decreasing orbiting speed and normal force. The friction coefficient of carbon nano-oil is 0.015, while that of pure oil is 0.023 under the conditions of refrigerant gas R-22 at the pressure of 5 bars. It is believed that carbon nano-particles can be coated on the friction surfaces and the interaction of nano-particles between surfaces can be improved the lubrication in the friction surfaces. Carbon nano-oilenhances the characteristics of the anti-wear and friction at the thrust slide-bearing of scroll compressors.

  • From the digital perspective, customer journey and customer experience management are emerging as important issues for companies. While digital customer experience has become more important due to the recent surge in online sales of the home appliance products, customers' experience in online is not differentiated as offline-focused traditional methods are maintained. This study aims to analyze the characteristics and mutual influences of customer experiences at each stage of online purchase journey, and to explore the effects on the product repurchase intention, focusing on online purchasers of home appliance which are high-involvement products. As a result, both cognitive and affective experiences of the research phase directly affect satisfaction, whereas affective experience at the purchasing stage indicated indirect effects through cognitive experience. The experience of the research phase positively affects the next phase, the purchasing experience, and the experience of the purchasing phase leads to the intention to repurchase the product. However, it is also found that, depending on the choice of online channels, the experience of research phase may affect the product repurchase intention than the purchase experience.

  • Indoor air quality becomes of a concern recently in view of human health. This study investigates the air diffusion performance and the air change efficiency of a classroom, when outdoor air is introduced in addition to the heating/cooling operation of a ceiling-mounted heat pump. A CFD analysis has been performed to investigate the effect of the discharge angle of the air jets from the heat pump for both parallel and series types of outdoor air system. It is observed that the series type creates more uniform indoor environment compared to the parallel type in general. It can be concluded the discharge angle should not be larger than 40o for the parallel type, in order not to generate thermal stratification in the room.
