마멸모델을 이용한 금형마멸 예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Prediction of Die Wear using Wear Model)

  • During the cold forming, due to high working pressure acting on the die surface, failure mechanics must be considered before die design. One of the main reasons of die failure in industrial application of metal forming technologies is wear. Die wear affects the tolerances of formed parts, metal flow and costs of process etc. The only way to control these failures is to develop methods which allow prediction of die wear and which are suited to be used in the design state in order to optimize the process. In this paper, the wear experiments to obtain the wear coefficients and the upsetting processes was accomplished to observe the wear phenomenon during the cold forming process. The analysis of upsetting processes was accomplished by the rigid-plastic finite element method. The result from the deformation analysis was used to analyse the die wear during the processes and the predicted die wear profiles were compared with the measured die wear profiles.

  • In forming processes, die failure must be considered before die design. One of the main reasons of die failure in industrial application of metal forming technologies is wear. The die wear affects the tolerances of formed parts, metal flow and costs of processes etc. The only way to control these failures is to develop methods which allow prediction of the die wear and which are suited to be used in the design state in order to optimize the process. In this paper, wire drawing processes were simulated using the rigid-plastic finite element method and its results were used for predicting the die wear by Archard's wear model. The effects of the temperature rising on the wear profiles of die were also investigated. The simulation results were compared with the measured die profiles.

  • This paper concerns the progressive die design for an automotive bracket part aided by the computer simulation in order to eliminate the inferiority such as the crack. The computer simulation of the progressive forming process is utilized in order to investigate cause of the cracks. This paper proposes a new guideline for the die design which modifies intermediate shapes and adds intermediate forming stages in progressive forming process. The effectiveness of the proposed design is verified by the computer simulation. The simulation result shows that the modified die design for the progressive forming process can eliminate the crack and improve quality of the automotive bracket part.

  • In the Prestressed die design for cold working, many constraining conditions should be considered to insure the die safety and to improve the dimension accountancy products. Among the constraining conditions, yielding conditions, diameter ratios and interferences between rings are very important. . In this paper, therefore, flexible tolerance method was used in order to search the optimum values of design variables. The maximum inner pressure is used as objective function in this numerical analysis. In the design Process, it was also involved the safety factor to the yield strength of each ring by considering the allowable tensile or compressive hoop stress in each ring. The proposed technique has been applied to the die design of backward extrusion process, and it's analytical results have been compared with that of the conventional design method.

  • This paper describes some research works of computer-aided design of blanking and piercing progressive die for stator and rotor parts. An approach to the system is based on knowledge based rules. The deveolped system is composed of six modules such as main program, input and shape treatment, production feasibility check, strip layout, die layout and drawing edit module. Using this system, design parameters ( geometric shapes, die and punch dimensions and dimensions of tool elements) are determined and output is gen- erated in graphic from. Knowledges for tool design are extracted from the plasticity theories, handbooks, relevant references and empirical know-hows of experts in blkanking companies. The developed system provides powerful capabilities for process planning and die design of stator and rotor parts.

  • Using a progressive die of the multi-stage drawing product, It was experiments for the Influence of the Products Roundness on the die pad process Safety die model, obstacle countermeasure research safety die design When the die pad is independent structure, Sidewall thickness of the inside 2stage, 3stage, 4stage of the product is thicker, the thickness of the inside 1stage and the bottom is thinner. it was become unstable beacuse the inside 1stage related to the Products Roundness is thinner. When the die pad is Integrated structure, Sidewall thickness of the inside 1stage, 2stage of the product is thicker, and Sidewall 3stage and 4stage was a thin. it was become unstable beacuse the inside 3stage related to the Products Roundness is thinner. Therefore, The appropriate combination of and integrated independent is required for each process.

  • Usually compound dies are used in clinch washer production. However, in this study, a fine blanking die is designed and manufactured, and clinch washers are produced by the die. Clinch washers are for electric exhaust gas recirculation (EEGR) and they recirculate some of exhaust gas to reduce harmful substances. Fine blanking automation production eliminates difficulties operators face on conventional press.

  • The dimensional accuracy of the cold forged part is depended on the elastic characteristics of the die. To obtain the high stiffness of the prestressed die, the first stress ring of the tungsten carbide material is considered. For the design, Lam 's equation is used. The design of the prestressed die has been compared with the conventional that. For the comparison, the FE-analysis using ANSYS has been performed. The results indicate that the prestressed die with the high stiffness can be obtained by the using the high stiffness material as the first stress ring.

  • The optimum design problem of a coat-hanger die is solved by the inverse formulation. The flow in the die is analyzed using three-dimensional model. The new model for the manifold geometry is developed for the inverse formulation. The inverse problem for the optimum die geometry is formed as the optimization problem whose objective function is the linear combination of the square sum of pressure gradient deviation at die exit and the penalty function relating to the measure of non-smoothness of solution. From the several iterative solutions of the optimization problem, the optimum solution can be obtained automatically while producing the uniform flow rate distribution at die exit.

To increase the stiffness of the prestressed die, the first stress ring of the tungsten carbide alloy (WC) is considered. For the design, Lame's equation is used. Diameter ratios and interferences have been determinated by maximum inner pressure without yielding of materials. The design of the prestressed die has been compared with the conventional one. For the comparison, the FE-analysis using ANSYS has been performed. The results indicate that the prestressed die with the high stiffness can be obtained by the using the high stiffness material as the first stress ring.
