Developing maps of affinely flat lie groups

  • In this paper, we study the developing maps of the Lie groups with left-invariant affinely flat structures. We make some bacis observations on the nature of the developing images and show that the developing map for an incomplete affine structure splits as a product of a covering map of codimension 1 and a diffeomorphism of dimension 1.

웹 환경에서 벡터 정보를 갖는 래스터 지도 뷰어의 개발 (Developing a Viewer for Raster Map with Vector Information in the Web Environment)

  • 본 연구에서는 웹 환경에서 래스터 지도를 벡터 지도처럼 이용할 수 있는 방법을 제안하였으며, 웹 브라우저 내에서 실행되는 전용 래스터 지도 뷰어를 개발하였다. 전처리 과정을 통하여 래스터 지도의 객체에 부여된 좌표들은 벡터 정보로서 사용되며, 래스터 지도 뷰어에서는 각 객체의 좌표와 연결된 속성 데이터베이스를 이용하여 공간분석이 가능하도록 하였다. 개발한 지도 뷰어는 래스터 이미지의 특성을 이용하기 때문에 저렴한 비용으로 웹 GIS를 구축할 수 있고, 공간분석을 위한 컴포넌트의 개발이 훨씬 용이하게 이루어 질 수 있다는 장점이 있다.

과거 및 가상 지진해일에 의한 임원항의 침수예상도 (Inundation Map at Imwon Port with Past and Virtual Tsunamis)

  • The scale of disaster and damage witnessed in the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami and the 2011 Great East Japan Tsunami has motivated researchers in developing foolproof disaster mitigation techniques for safety of coastal communities. This study focuses on developing tsunami hazard map by numerical modeling at Imwon Port to minimize losses of human beings and property damage when a real tsunami event occurs. A hazard map is developed based on inundation maps obtained by numerical modeling of 3 past and 11 virtual tsunami cases. The linear shallow-water equations with manipulation of frequency dispersion and the non-linear shallow-water equations are employed to obtain inundation maps. The inundation map gives the maximum extent of expected flooded area and corresponding inundation depths which helps in identifying vulnerable areas for unexpected tsunami attacks. The information can be used for planning and developing safety zones and evacuation structures to minimize damage in case of real tsunami events.

표준화된 지도 데이터 표현방법을 이용한 위상지도와 격자지도의 병합 (Merging of Topological Map and Grid Map using Standardized Map Data Representation)

  • Mapping is a fundamental element for robotic services. There are available many types of map data representation such as grid map, metric map, topology map, etc. As more robots are deployed for services, more chances of exchanging map data among the robots emerge and standardization of map data representation (MDR) becomes more valuable. Currently, activities in developing MDR standard are underway in IEEE Robotics and Automation Society. The MDR standard is for a common representation and encoding of the two-dimensional map data used for navigation by mobile robots. The standard focuses on interchange of map data among components and systems, particularly those that may be supplied by different vendors. This paper aims to introduce MDR standard and its application to map merging. We have applied the basic structure of the MDR standard to a grid map and Voronoi graph as a kind of topology map and performed map merging between two different maps. Simulation results show that the proposed MDR is suitable for map data exchange among robots.

Real-Time Generation of City Map for Games in Unity with View-dependent Refinement and Pattern Synthesis Algorithm

  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm that can quickly generate and synthesize city maps in racing games. Racing games are characterized by moving a wide map rather than a fixed map, but designing and developing a wide map requires a lot of production time. This problem can be mitigated by creating a large map in the preprocessing step, but a fixed map makes the game tedious. It is also inefficient to process all the various maps in the preprocessing step. In order to solve this problem, we propose a technique to create a terrain pattern in the preprocessing process, to generate a map in real time, and to synthesize various maps randomly. In addition, we reduced unnecessary rendering computations by integrating view-dependent techniques into the proposed framework. This study was developed in Unity3D and can be used for various contents as well as racing game.

경쟁시대의 병원마케팅전략 : 포지셔닝과 고객만족을 중심으로 (Hospital Marketing Strategies in Competitive Era : Positioning and Patient Satisfaction Strategies)

  • The Korean hospital industry is rapidly changing along with the competition among hospitals. Until recently it was easy for hospitals to profit even without efficient management and competitive strategies. However, the increasingly intensive competition endanger their profits but also their survivals. Hospital managers have no choice but to seriously consider competitive management and marketing strategies to remain alive and prosper. This study introduces a useful methodology--perception map drawn using multidimensional scaling--for developing competitive strategies, and illustrates its application to developing a perception map of 9 Seoul-based general hospitals. We also suggest the concepts and examples of positioning strategies and patient satisfaction management system. One of the interesting findings is that the Samsung medical center which opened less than a year ago is ranked first in most aspects such as kindness, facilities, waiting time, and parking, and the second in clinical performance just after the Seoul National University Hospital.

  • 본 논문에서는 OLE 자동화를 이용한 GIS의 사용자 인터페이스를 개발하는 방법을 제시하였다. 사용자 인터페이스의 개발에 있어서는 윈도우즈 프로그래밍 기술과 컴포넌트 소프트웨어 제작 기술의 적용이 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 컴포넌트 소프트웨어 제작 기술인 OLE 자동화와 비주얼 베이직 언어를 이용하여 사용자 인터페이스를 개발하는 방법을 제시하고, 사례 연구로서 주제도 중첩, 속성 테이블 조회, 그래프 분석, 분포도 분석 등의 기능을 수행할 수 있는 사용자 인터페이스를 개발하였다.

  • The Navigation Streets Map that directly supplies information for a driver plays an important role in Car Navigation System(CNS). Therefore, cause the compatibility, preference, visibility, and readability of the navigation streets map will be hold sway over driver's information acquisition, safety, and performance in CNS, it is important that designer's requirements should be analyuzed for ergonomic design of navigation streets map. Especially, there are differences between the topographical objects marking method and that of the general map in a navigation streets map. Because much information is marked in a narrow space, it is important that the text information should be done in navigation streets map. Also, because it is a important factor to mark the text format for the marking method of the topographical objects, the design requirements will be drawn out through the factor analysis for the text marking method. And when ergonomic designers are doing, this result will be basic research for developing driving simulator of CNS and it will be a ergonomic guideline of navigation streets map.

Developing application system of forest information using digital photogrammetry and GIS

  • Recently in order to process forest official task more effectively and scientifically the previous of that which is focused on document and inventory, should be applied with the spatial information technology. Especially, the forest information remote sensing system has to be developed using digital photogrammetry and GIS. In this study the forest information remote sensing system is implemented to manage forest resource and forest official effectively especially by constructing database of forest environment information and cadastral information, overlaying various thematic maps, and performing spatial analysis using GIS and aerial photograph. For this, the attribute data and spatial data of aerial photograph, digital topography map, forest cadastral map, forest type map, forest use map should be reprocessed and stored in Oracle. Also, the user interface is developed by using Visual Basic 6.0 and MapObjects 2.1 of ESRI based on CBD(Component Based Development).
