  • Current sensor using Hall device is an instrument of detecting a current by Hall effect. The existing current sensor is ordinarily worked by concentrating electromagnetism produced around the conducting wire turned iron core. The tiny curren, however, could not be accurately detected by the instrument owing to influence of residual magnetism exisisting in iron core, and the result of detecting is also somewhat on the large side. kAccordingly, We fabricated a new type of instrument minimizing the influence of residual magnetism existing in iron core and detected the tiny DC current accurately by taking advantage of magnetic modulation. The range of measuring DC current is 0[mA]-100[mA] and the maxiumm Linerity tolleance by the result of detecting current, can be reduced less than 3 percent.

  • A new diagnostic statistic for detecting outliers and influential observations in linear models is suggested and studied in this paper. The proposed statistic is a weighted sum of two measures; one is for detecting outliers and the other is for detecting influential observations. The merit of this statistic is that it is possible to distinguish outliers from influential observations. We have done some Monte-Carlo Simulation to find the probability distribution of this statistic.

  • In order to comprise a basic closed-loop control system for a field robot it is necessary to detect the piston rod stroke of a hydraulic cylinder. There are mary conventional type sensors which can detect the displacement of cylinders. However, they cannot reveal the original performance normally or the cannot be applied at all where the operating circumstance of cylinders is beyond specifications of sensors. In this paper, an exclusive method for detecting the piston rod stroke is suggested, which adopts a remote detecting technique using optical fiber sensors. Several experiments using the prototype are executed for verifying the effectiveness of the suggested method and the possibility of the accurate detection of stroke.

  • Acoustic microscopy has attracted much interest recently as potential nondestructive evaluation technique for detecting and sizing defects of surface and sub-surface. Also acoustic emission testing method has been developed for detecting microcracks which is more than 30${\mu}m$ in length quantitatively on ceramics. In the present paper, acoustic emission during the four point bending test in hot-pressed sintered $Si_3N_4$ specimen which was stressed by thermal shock, has been measured by high sensitive sensing system. The surface and sub-surface cracks were detected by scanning acoustic micrscope of 800 MHz and conventional ultrasonic testing in C-scope image. The purpose was to investigate the location and size of cracks by SAM and AE technique, whose experimental data demonstrate good for detecting microcracks.

  • In this paper, a method for extracting the fingerprint regions and the table from fingerprint document which is the size of A4 including ten fingerprints images in a table is presented. The extraction of each fingerprint region is carried out by segmenting the foreground fingerprint region using a block filtering method and detecting its center point. The table extraction, by detecting a horizontal line using line tracing, and detecting a vertical line by its orthogonal equation. Here, T-shaped mask is proposed for finding the starting points of the vertical line intersecting horizontal line by the form of 'T'. Experimental results show above 95% correct rate of extracting the fingerprint region and table.

  • As the Internet use explodes recently, the malicious attacks and hacking for a system connected to network occur frequently. For such reason, lots of intrusion detection system has been developed. Intrusion detection system has abilities to detect abnormal behavior and unknown intrusions also it can detect intrusions by using patterns studied from various penetration methods. Various algorithms are studying now such as the statistical method for detecting abnormal behavior, extracting abnormal behavior, and developing patterns that can be expected. Etc. This study using clustering of data mining and association rule analyzes detecting areas based on two models and helps design detection system which detecting abnormal behavior, unknown attack, misuse attack in a large network.

  • A method for the detecting defined vertices is described in this paper. An alogrithm detecting vertex position by means of calculating an error and distinguishing the defined inner and outer corners by the chain code of line segments is described. To calculate the error, virtual links are detected by means of a jointing relations of line segments for a contour. And so an error is calculated by measuring a minimum distance from a jointing point between the line segments to virtual link. As a result, this method is more flexible and effective than conventional Freeman's method.

  • This paper introduces a multi-purpose smart fusion sensor. Normally, this type of sensor can contribute to energy savings specifically related to lighting and heating/air conditioning systems by detecting individuals in an office building. If a fire occurs, the sensor can provide information regarding the presence and location of residents in the building to a management center. The system consists of four sensors: a thermopile sensor for detecting heat energy, an ultrasonic sensor for measuring the distance of objects from the sensor, a fire detection sensor, and a passive infrared sensor for detecting temperature change. The system has a wireless communication module to provide the management center with control information for lighting and heating/air conditioning systems. We have also demonstrated the usefulness of the proposed system by applying it to a real environment.

  • We present a method of surface functionalization of a single layer graphene for linking and detecting MDA-MB-231 human breast cancer cell. The methodology is done by utilizing 1-pyrenebutanoic acid and succinimidyl ester for immobiling CD44 antibodies. This work shows that the single layer graphene is an efficient fixing substance to capture the MDA-MB-231 human breast cancer cell, selectively. The immobilization method of the cancer cell on the graphene layer will be an effective cell counting system. Moreover usage of the linking with non-covalent bonding is expected to develope a sensor scheme of electrical cell-detecting diagnosis system.
