The present study was designed to find out demanding characteristics about a desk in the teenager's housing lifestyles. Documentry research and questionnaire survey methods were used in this study. Questionnaire were administered to 233 teenagers in seoul. Data were analyzed with the use SPSS PC+ package. The statistics were frequency, percentage, factor analysis, chi-squre, and cluster analysis. The major findings were followings: the teenager's housing lifestyles were categorized into the five patterns: the creative and impulsive type, the personal and private type, the economic and traditional type, the Western lifestyle-type, functional and achievement-orienented type. Teenagers in the low class of the functional and achievemental type demanded for the desk of the strong structure and materials, under 200,000 wons, and D furniture. Teenagers in the middle-high class of the personal and private type demanded for the desk of colorful and good design, 200,000-400,000 wons, and DS furniture. Teenagers in the high-low class of the Western lifestyle-type demanded for the desk of the famous trademark, 400,000-600,000 wons and S furniture. Teenagers in the middle-low class of the economic and tradition-oriented type demanded for the desk of the convinient and functional design, under 200,000 wons, and L furniture.

This study intended to develop wellbeing flowerpots on desk which could create a healthy atmosphere in an office and raise people to joy. The pots developed by Blooming company emphasized a design as touching people's emotion through the organic design of the streamline which is different from the geometric line of the flowerpots manufactured by the company as focusing the design on the utility before. As a result, the pots derived from the organic design concepts could provide happiness or joy to the people, and would be a necessity on the narrow desk along with books or writing materials while working. Therefore, the beautifully streamlined pots are expected to compete with European market as the foreign buyers had a great interest in them at the Fair held in Hong-kong at the end of April, 2008.

Through this study, I developed a new-styled desk for public reading in library in consideration of the characteristics of the company "KIFURS Co., Ltd." established and branded by a part of the members of the association 'Gyeonggi-Incheon Furniture Industry Cooperative', in the background of growing library-furniture market situation according to the government policy and the related participations of competitive companies. The differentially designed product was herein presented by introducing the function of office furniture and related material, by giving the existing product some improvements on the basis of the domestic and international data searching. The characteristic of the developed product is that the basic structure of the desk for public reading is easy to assemble & disassemble and also variable to be extended & modified. This basic structure is available to be mass production and to be pricewise through using aluminum. Furthermore it can be used as other library-furniture and office furniture, too. Also the luxury image was pursued by modern shape and different material, unlike the existing library-furniture.

With rapidly changing modem information technology, the structure of our lifestyle has underwent much changes in our society. One of these changes is an immense distribution of computer desks, which became necessities of life in various organizations, companies and public offices as well as at home. Therefore, many companies are faced with the necessity of bringing about a new product with esthetic needs and new functions and come to have opportunities to make profits from top-quality products based on competitive design development. The academic design support program in collaboration with industry can provide design-related industry with a design assistance for a new product development, in addition, it can give to the professional faculty of the college the chances to contribute to advancement of design industry of the nation. To accomplish the need and purpose of this research, the design development of unified computer desks was carried out with the introduction of life-long Universal design concept named ‘Design For All.’ The theoretical background of this study researched all the literature on the terms definition of a computer desk, the concept and definition of Universal design and design support program in collaboration with industry and performed data analyses for a product development through an analysis of domestic products and a benchmarking of foreign products. On the basis of these theoretical background and analysis results, this research brought out a new product through designing processes and the information of this production could be utilized via the feedback of a new product. That is, this research was done for a practical use.

This study was conducted to develop a prototype of adjustable desk and chair for students from elementary to high school. The development process started with identifying the problems of existing adjustable desks and chairs that are currently available in the market. The following fundamental design criteria were established and then applied to develop the prototype. The criterion of minimization of production cost yielding lower the market selling price was the most critically considered in view of the school furniture buyers' price-consciousness. Other design criteria used in this development were designing for stable and solid structure, requiring few motions and no tools to adjust, requiring the use of only one hand to adjust, unrestricting the adjustable interval, providing extra space for foot and knee area, reducing weight to move easily, and requiring not to move around for cleaning up floor. To evaluate the performance of the prototype, the adjustability of prototype was specifically compared with both dimensions suggested by KS G 2010(Korean Standards for desks and chairs for students) and current anthropometric dimension in terms of the flexible range of accommodation. Results of this study illustrate that the prototype developed in this study could be accommodated for the both dimensions. As a concluding mark, appropriate adjustable range for various grades and age groups were presented.

최근에 독서실 이용의 증가로 독서실 시장이 계속 성장하고 있다. 그러나 기존 독서실 업체들은 청결 문제와 도난 사고가 빈번하게 발생하고, 이를 실시간으로 처리할 수 없는 문제가 있다. 또한, 독서실에서는 조명을 사용하는데, 사용자가 조명을 킨 상태로 오랜 시간 자리를 비워, 전력 낭비가 심한 문제도 있다. 그리하여 본 논문에서는 아두이노를 통해 도난사고를 방지하고 자동으로 책상을 청소해주며 사용자의 상태에 따라 조명 밝기를 조정할 수 있는 서비스와 안드로이드를 통해 사물을 통해 얻은 정보를 기반으로 분실물이 발생하거나 다른 사용자가 해당 책상에 접근하는 경우 단말기에 알림 전송할 수 있는 시스템을 설계하고 구현하고자 한다.

21 Century is said the age of cultural industry. In this cultural Industry one of very important factors which guides this times is the exploitation of cultural goods, which is based on regional identity. Therefore, at this point of time when its weighty has been raised, the aim of this study is to fill the image Korean tradition and modernity culture in them, through the search on their characteristics among regions and nations, desk the cultural service goods which gets survival power of traditional and cultural identity. Nine existing Hahoe masks are changed into nine new cultural items, which are presented the nine dreams of Hahoe masks. As consumer's choice is diversified by a set of products, main concept in this study is the focus on modernity, rationality, traditionality and popularity. The main concept of this study is on rational functions and convenience, the harmony of tradition and modernity. As said above, in the process of manufacture the mass production of goods is stressed, and by getting the composition and making a set of goods, the choice of consumers will be extended. Getting ideal globalization by the coexistence of tradition and modernity on goods, is very important. Consequently, cultural goods must be recognized as a factor of its medium, and also, on domestic cultural goods people's interest must be risen all the more.

This research is to provide basic information for future development of an effective way for design office furniture. The purpose of this study is to provide foundation data that enable to design various office furniture. This article investigates what are the basic elements of office furniture and how various type of office furniture elements represent in many catalogues, articles. It was to understand what parts of office furniture elements influence when design the office furniture. Based on the research, conclusion was made as following: Through the 11 brands, it is found that rectangular-closed desk and tall closest is dominant in domestic brand whereas both open and closed desks are used in overseas brand and the closet design is changed based on the desk type.

The purpose of this study is to design strategic hospital service based on each hospital's features. For this study, an assessment was conducted by 398 in-patents of one university hospital located in Seoul. The self-questionnaires, which were investigated from Oct. 15th to 29th in 2008, compared central reception desk with ward reception desk in satisfaction and re-use rate of patients. The major results of this study are as follow. First, according to each reception desk user, they have different satisfaction of it. As for the staff kindness, admission procedure, discharge procedure and manner of staff, those made patients be gratified as well. Second, when it comes to the intention of re-use, there were no significant features between them. Only convenience in admission and discharge procedure, however, was an attractive factor for the recommendation. Third, this study found out the reasons for higher re-use rate of central reception desk users. Regarding service, they were contented with the time for test and treatment. As for the hospital service, they would like to re-use this hospital because of convenient steps of paying interim fee and getting certificates. Forth, this study found out the reasons for higher re-use rate of ward reception desk users. As a point of hospital service view, they responded that respected privacy, hospital facility and general service were good for staying. As for the manner of staff, they mentioned nurses and staff in charge and whole staff members were kind. When it comes to the procedures of patient management, steps of discharge and paying interim fee were convenience. In conclusion, the results of this study suggest that providing a ward reception desk service can boost the satisfaction and re-use rate of in-patients. Furthermore, this strategic management method would be good for not only cutting the moving line but also efficient in-patient care system. These results can be used for the strategic hospital marketing field, as well. Even though this study has a limitation of the targeted populations which were only in a ward reception desk running hospital, it can say that having competitiveness in satisfaction of hospital service is good for promoting and differencing each hospital. Consequently, whole general management system would be adjusted first for differencing each hospital; however, this sort of additional factor should be concerned as well. I expect that this study would give meaningful data for designing strategic and differencing marketing method to lots of hospitals.

The standard of chair and desk is decided to design a science laboratory which would help students giving the chance to show their ability and participating spontaneously. The standard is come by the middle school students physical size of the 1986 national physical standard and they are classified into large, medium and small size. The size of laboratory is determined by the size of desk. the distance between desks and the number of students accommodated. By the middle school students physical standard, the heights of chair are 32, 34, 37cm and the widths of chair are 35, 37, 40cm. The desks heights are 53, 58, 63cm and the size is $110{\times}160cm$. The distance between rear and front of desk is 120cm and the left and right side of desk is 150cm. When 24, 36, 60 students are accommodated in laboratory, the size of laboratories are $9.6{\times}10.5m$, $12.7{\times}10.5m$ and $18.8{\times}10.5m$ respectively.
