베어링 궤도 선삭가공용 총형공구의 형상 보정기법 (Tool Shape Compensation Scheme for Formed Turning Tools Shape of Ball Bearing Raceways)

  • In this paper, we propose a new shape compensation scheme to make up for the difference in groove radius between the formed tools and the machined bearing raceways, which inherently takes place during machining the ball bearing raceways by the turning process using conventional formed tools. The associated conventional methods of the formed tool design and its modification such as a simple depth compensation method and a graphical compensation method are introduced and the latter, which has been known to be the better of the two, is experimentally investigated in detail to reveal its drawback. The algorithm is given and it is applied to develop a formed tool design program. The program developed by the presented approach is successfully applied to design the formed turning tool for the bearing raceways.

데이터베이스를 활용한 공작기계의 구조해석 프로그램 개발 (Development of a S/W for a Structural Analysis of Machine tools utilizing database)

  • In this paper, a S/W system for a structural analysis of machine tools has been suggested. The system is so designed to reduce manual interfacing effort. An object-oriented language is used for making a graphic user interface. In this system parametric modelling technique is applied to construct a FE model without much user intervention. The FE model is automatically updated when the design parameters are changed by user. Not only single FE analysis but also a trade-off analysis for calculating the sensitivity information of design variables is possible using this system. All data generated by this system are saved in the database. So it possible to retrieve the result later without another analysis. It is found that the design time can be reduced and unnecessary operation avoided using this system.

Six Sigma 기법을 이용한 이중 스월 가스터빈 연소기의 튜닝시험 (Tuning Test of a Double-Swirl Gas Turbine Combustor using Six Sigma Tools)

  • This paper describes combustion tuning methodology of double-swirl gas turbine combustor using six sigma tools. This methodology is consist of five steps-Define, Identify, Design, Optimize and Verify (DIDOV). First, the NOx reduction target was defined in the step design; second, the current status of the plant was diagnosed in the step of identify; third, the vital few control parameters to achieve the defined target were determined by analyzing the correlation between the control parameters and NOx emissions in the step of design; fourth, the optimum condition was derived from one of the six sigma tools in the step of optimize; finally, the optimum condition was verified by applying the condition to the gas turbine combustor in the step of verify. As a result of the suggested method, averaged NOx emissions were reduced by more than 70% and the standard deviation was improved by more than 60%. Thus, this methodology can be attributed to the efficient reduction of NOx emission with saving combustion tuning time.

  • It can be acquired the high effective productivity through of high speed, precision of machine tools, and then, machine tools will be got a competitive power. Industrially advanced countries already developed that the high speed feed is 60m/min using the high speed ball screw. Also, a lot of problems have happened the feed drive system. It is necessary to study about the character of positioning accuracy, heat generation and high speed control for feed drive system of high speed. In this study, we make use of the feed drive system with a ball screw of large-scale-lead. We'll develop the feed drive system at the speed of 60m/min. Using the design of the mechanical element and the high speed control, the basic design concept can be established. After manufacturing one-shaft feed drive system and conducting the performance test, it'll be analyzed properties of the high speed feed drive system.

  • 최근에 임베디드 시스템 개발자들을 위한 프로토타이핑 시스템 도구가 시장에 많이 출시되고 있다. 일찍부터 임베디드 시스템 설계에서 사용자의 요구사항을 분석하고 사용자 편의 인터페이스를 만드는데 있어서 프로토타입은 중요한 요소이다. 프로토타이핑 도구는 다음과 같이 Physical Prototyping (PP), Virtual Prototyping (VP), Modeling Prototyping (MP) 3가지로 나눌 수 있다. 이러한 프로토타이핑 기술을 통합하면 개발에 소모되는 비용내지 시간이 절약되므로써 시장진입시점이 빨라지고 제품의 경쟁력이 향상된다. 하지만 이러한 프로토타이핑을 통합하는데 있어서 여러가지 문제점이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 여러 프로토타이핑 도구를 통합하는데 있어서 Javabean, ActiveX등과 같이 유연하고 재사용성이 용의한 컴포넌트를 이용하여 문제점을 해결하는 모습을 보여준다. 이러한 기술은 여러 임베디드 시스템을 개발시 재사용성과 유연성을 통한 편리성을 가질 수 있다.

ASIC 설계용 통합 CAD Framework 개발 (Development of Integrated CAD framework for ASIC Design)

  • ASIC 설계용으로 이미 개발된 여러 CAD 도구 또는 추후 개발될 CAD도구들은 고유의 기능을 가지고 있으며, 서로 다른 환경에서 상이한 방식으로 운영되는 경우가 많다. 따라서 목표하는 최종적인 결과를 도출하기 위한 작업을 수행하기 위해서는 상호 밀접한 관계가 있는 여러 CAD도구들을 하나의 시스템에 통합하여 운영할 수 있는 통합 CAD Framework의 사용이 효과적이다. 본 논문에서는 주로 Unix Shell 상에서 개발된 기존의 국내외 CAD도구들을 Unix 운영체계의 X-windows라는 규격화된 그래픽 인터페이스 상에서 통합하여 수행할 수 있게 하는 기법을 소개한다. 이를 위해 메뉴 구성 및 실행 환경 설정을 위한 각종 파일 양식과 메타 언어를 정의ㆍ개발하였으며, 성능 확인을 위해 기존에 개발되어 있던 두 가지 CAD 도구들을 제안된 CAD Framework상에 통합시킨 Prototype 시스템을 개발하고, 이를 토대로 테스트하였다.

Development of 3D Stereoscopic Image Generation System Using Real-time Preview Function in 3D Modeling Tools

  • A 3D stereoscopic image is generated by interdigitating every scene with video editing tools that are rendered by two cameras' views in 3D modeling tools, like Autodesk MAX(R) and Autodesk MAYA(R). However, the depth of object from a static scene and the continuous stereo effect in the view of transformation, are not represented in a natural method. This is because after choosing the settings of arbitrary angle of convergence and the distance between the modeling and those two cameras, the user needs to render the view from both cameras. So, the user needs a process of controlling the camera's interval and rendering repetitively, which takes too much time. Therefore, in this paper, we will propose the 3D stereoscopic image editing system for solving such problems as well as exposing the system's inherent limitations. We can generate the view of two cameras and can confirm the stereo effect in real-time on 3D modeling tools. Then, we can intuitively determine immersion of 3D stereoscopic image in real-time, by using the 3D stereoscopic image preview function.

  • In this paper are reviewed the current status of nuclear fuel management and reactor operational aid tools. In addition, we indicate deficiencies in current capabilities and what future research is judged warranted. For the nuclear fuel management review the focus is on light water reactors and the utilization of stochastic optimization methods applied to the lattice, fuel bundle, core loading pattern, and for BWRs the control rod pattern/core flow design decision making problems. Significant progress in addressing separately each of these design problems on a single cycle basis is noted; however, the outstanding challenge of addressing the integrated design problem over multiple cycles under conditions of uncertainty remains to be addressed. For the reactor operational aid tools review the focus is on core simulators, used to both process core instrumentation signals and as an operator aid to predict future core behaviors under various operational strategies. After briefly reviewing the current status of capabilities, a more in depth review of adaptive core simulation capabilities, where core simulator input data are adjusted within their known uncertainties to improved agreement between prediction and measurement, is presented. This is done in support of the belief that further development of adaptive core simulation capabilities is required to further significantly advance the utility of core simulators in support of reactor operational aid tools.

  • A design process is difficult to describe comprehensively because a design problem has a multi-disciplinary nature and the design itself evolves as solutions are attempted by the designer. The process of design has been investigated in this paper with the purpose of characterizing the role that a system of this kind may have. In defining the system, an approach has been used that privileges the relationships with the existing CAD tools based on data exchange standards in course of definition today. Integrated design environment normally consists of a centralized data model a data management system and a set of CAD tools. In this study, all further investigations are directed towards the data management system, as one of the main components of the proposed environment. Moreover, product modeling, as a prerequisite for the data management core, is taken into special consideration.

  • This study investigated the use of participatory design kit as a tool for the design of individual units within an apartment tools through the literatures. Simulation was the method used for conducting the study. The results show that: 1) In general, design tools must be composed of a package of techniques, demand flexibility in its framework which adapts to a variety of situation, and the approach for project work must be comprehensive and systematic. 2) Design kits that are created to involve future residents in making decisions about the layout of their apartments, Improve the ability of those people to make various design. 3) Specifically, design kits that are developed as a means for making the user participation easy in an apartment housing complex, show the tool useful to an nonexpert.
