  • Design and manufacturing (or production) must be closely interrelated. They should never be viewed as separate disciplines or activities. Each part or component of a product must be designed so that it not only meets design requirements and specifications, but also can be manufactured and assembled economically, ecologically and with relative ease. This approach improves productivity and allows a manufacturer to remain competitive. This broad view has become recognized as the area of design for manufacture and assembly(DFMA). Here the principles of the DFMA and their some examples are reviewed.

The Effects of Conspicuous Consumption, Sales Promotions and Images of the Country of Manufacture on Chinese Women Consumers' Purchasing Attitudes to Fashion Luxury Brands (과시소비성향, 판매촉진과 제조국 이미지가 중국여성소비자의 패션 명품 구매태도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purposes of this study were study intended to investigate effects of conspicuous consumption, sales promotions and images of the country of manufacture on Chinese consumers' purchasing attitudes to fashion luxury brands. The study was conducted by experimental conspicuous consumption(2)X[types of sales promotions(2) X images of the country of manufacture(2)] design by combining the 3 variables mentioned above. 312 women living in Chengdu were collected for this study. For data analysis, factor analysis, T-test, frequency analysis and ANOVA were used. The results were as follows: First, Chinese consumers' favor to fashion luxury brands: 2-way interactions, in sales promotions and images of the country of manufacture, was found for favor to fashion luxury brands. Second, Chinese consumers' purchase intent to fashion luxury brands: only the main-effects of conspicuous consumption and images of the country of manufacture was meaningfully positive. It demonstrates that only conspicuous consumption and images of the country of manufacture effected Chinese consumers' purchase intent to fashion luxury brands.

  • Square dies are widely used for hot extrusion processes with high production rate. However the design and manufacture of square dies mainly relies on experience of industrial engineers To overcome such difficulty this study develops a method of automatic generation of NC-codes for the manufacture of extrusion square dies. The result shows that the method can reduce the lead time for the design and manufacture of square dies as well as eliminating engineers ow experience.

  • Square dies are widely used for hot extrusion processes with high production rate, however, the design and manufacture of square dies mainly relies on experience of industrial engineers.   • In order to manufacture high quality goods, the engineers who will design them has to have board technical experience as well as profound engineering knowledge. The engineers also be able to design and manufacture well development goods base on new advanced technology. Design process can be defined as transforming activity raw material into finished producted for human needs. The wealth of nation depend on its ability to retrieve natural resources and manufacture goods. Its ability, creation of goods, is most fundamental component of economic wealth of rich country. The rich countries have combine their own design knowledge with computer technology and create new effective design process. In this paper, one of the useful and practice design process created for railway industry is introduced. Base on the concept of this design process, the automatic wheelchair lifter design for railway vehicle is performed.

  • This study looks at plastic mold design for robots and mold manufacture, which is an injection mold branch at The Korea-China-Japan University Grand Prize Contest. Product analysis and layout, molding analysis, and upper and lower core design are carried out to design molds in 2D and 3D. After the design of the cores, NC machining software is used for simulation before actual manufacture. Before the production of end-product, test injection is done to troubleshoot problems like bad dimensions, burr, cracks and stepped pulley.

  • This paper describes the design, analysis and manufacture procedure of the composite blade for hingeless rotor system of unmanned helicopters. Helicopter rotor system is the key structural unit that produces thrust and control forces for intended flight conditions. In this work, a hingeless rotor system is adopted, and base on the design requirements for rotor system, composite blade section design and calculation of material properties were performed. In order to avoid the unstable state such as resonance, vibration characteristics of rotor system were analyzed. Finally, this paper describes simply the forming and manufacture of composite blade.

  • This paper describes the development procedure for Tail-Fan system which has the role of anti-torque and yaw control in helicopter. A detailed design of Tail-Fan system was done and structural analysis also was done. After finishing detailed design, Detailed drawings were generated for manufacture. Through detailed design and manufacture, required techniques were achieved for helicopter development. After validation through performance and stability test, acquired techniques will be applied to development of Korea Multi-role Helicopter(KMH) which will be launched

  • Purpose - The purpose of this thesis is to assess the product design digital learning status of universities that are currently involved in learning environment projects in manufacture and commerce integration (MCI). Thus, enterprises must keep learning and creating new inventions with revolutionary progress. Research design, data, and methodology - This study not only emphasizes the analysis of technical ability, course concepts, conducting models, and learning environments of every aspect, but also systematically probes the planning of learning, system framework, web learning, environmental activities, data statistics, and digitalized learning, among other aspects. Results - The results of this study help in finally understanding each school's manufacture and commerce integration situation, in order to evaluate product design learning. Consequently, it is essential to evaluate computer learning at schools, thereby affecting communication and the requirements of business education training. Conclusions - It is essential to focus on MCI to promote web teaching to preserve and enhance knowledge disseminating technologies, and immediately share knowledge with learners, while improving work efficiency and cultivating the talent needed by industry.
