The purpose of this study is to explore the interior therapy that introduced the concept of therapy into interior space. This study examines interior therapy based on the concepts of stress and therapy. As the study methods, a qualitative analysis to review the concept of interior therapy was conducted together with a quantitative analysis on the current state of domestic therapy-related researches. The scope of the study is limited to domestic journals published from 1988, when the first domestic research was embarked on to analyze the current status of therapy-related researches, until November 2016. According to the study results, the domestic therapy-related studies were mainly focused on aromatherapies and food therapies. By year, the first domestic study of its kind was conducted on logotherpay in 1988. And until 2000, studies were carried out mainly on aromatherapies. Since then, new psychotherapy research fields have emerged; color therapy in 2003 and food therapy in 2008. However, in the space design field except for color therapy-related researches, there have been not sufficient studies on the indoor space therapy field that investigates the possibility of indoor space as a therapy from an integrated viewpoint. Therefore, this study reviewed domestic researches on interior therapy which applied the concept of therapy to interior design and suggested three cognitive-emotional-behavioral measures as healing factors. Finally, this study is expected to be used as basic data for design planning and curriculum development which apply the concept of therapy to interior design-related fields.

This paper briefly summarizes the basic concepts and main characteristics of seismic design of New Zealand Standards(NZS) with regard to reinforced concrete(RC) structures. NZS used the concept of the capacity design and the limit state design to satisfy the requirements of serviceability and safety. Plastic mechanisms and details with respect to the limit state of safety are briefly presented in this paper. The understanding of this advanced seismic design concept will enable us to implement the basic theory of capacity design and contribute to the development of Korean seismic code in new generation,

Structure of product, which is not considered by easy of assembly, has many hidden costs. For reduction of hidden costs, concepts of line balancing and assembly-oriented design are used. We find that part of structure can be improved by concept of line balancing. To reduce assembly time and enhance easy of assembly, design principles are developed by concept of assembly-oriented design. And design principles for improvement are applied according to condition of the grasped parts of product structure. Thersfore, we could design assembly-oriented design for better structure and low cost.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the form and space of superstructure and to present the characteristics of design innovation and space planning in cruise ships. The exterior design styling and interior space design are induced on the important design concept in cruise ships. The scale and structural daring of the past mega ship and next generation concept is being injected into the current cruise ship design.

Seismic design codes in japan have been developed from the experience obtained from the past earthquakes. After the Hyogoken-nanbu earthquake occurred in 1995 the seismic design code have adopt the performance-based design methodology. Weight reduction for an automobile body is being sought for the fuel efficiency and the energy conservation. One way of the efforts is adopting Ultra Light Steel Auto Body (ULSAB) concept. The ULSAB concept can be used for the light weight of an automobile door with the tailor welded blank (TWB). A design process is defined for the TWB. The inner panel of door is designed by the TWB and optimization. The design starts from an existing component. At first, the hinge and inner reinforcements are removed. In the conceptual design stage, topology optimization is conducted to find the distribution of variable thicknesses. The number of parts and the welding lines are determined from the topology design. In the detailed design process, size optimization is carried out to find thickness while stiffness constraints are satisfied. The final parting lines are determined by shape optimization.

The purpose of this study is to arrange the design elements and methods for sustainable community. After made the concept of sustainable community clear in the contemporary architecture and urban design, this study examines rural ecovillage, urban demonstration project, co-housing, new urbanism and urban village, and ecological township as the application modes of sustainable community. Through the cases of the application mode, the design elements for sustainable community were summarized as the followings: the symbiosis system with the nature, permaculture and edible landscape, identity, the technology for saving of resources and energy, the traffic system for the reduction of private motor use, mixed use development, and the housing with diversity. And the design methods for sustainable community were summarized as the followings: strategic planning, visioning, community action planning, workshops and charrette, environmental evaluation, and participation techniques.

The point of this study consists in analysing influences of the postmodern design in the contemporary architecture. Since the modern architecture, new concept of architectural design has been materialized in the Late-Modern and the High-tech style but the revolutionary changes has been tempted by the postmodern architects who introduced the Rhetorical language in the contemporary architecture. In concrete terms postmodern architecture divided architectural elements from existing function (according to U. Eco, it is the primary function of architecture) and gave another function which is the secondary function or the symbolic function or architecture. And the methods of deviation from the conventional code is exactly the rhetorical expression technique which governed the history of art in Europe (but these technique is more intensively applied in the postmodern architecture) So this study is purposed to analyse the different rhetorical "figyres" regarding the syntax and semantic of the architectural langyage, and particularly to approach to the basic mechanism of the New Design Concept in the Contemporary Archiecture.chiecture.

In this paper, the ergonomic principle and concept will be established and the conceptual bridge design based on the ergonomic studies pertaining to bridge design undertaken by IMO and ISO will be introduced. In particular, this study has looked into the applicability of ergonomic design concept on coastal ships and proposes new bridge design to make good contribution to the prevention of marine accidents in the coastal sea.

This study purposes on continuing experimental research of furniture form creation focused on the importance and necessity for a-formal concept for designers to drift away from general acknowledgement and practice routine to design more radical forms for meeting various needs of late industrialized society, which have not been satisfied with formal and universal designs. This study covers presenting new points of view on research for designers to look for different solutions to widen their consideration in the process of furniture form development and to set up academic data base with the case studies of designers in anti-construction concept to define their experimental challenges for new design form creation, on the basis of overall research on the effects and roles of a-formal approach in the furniture design form creation.
