Purpose - "Showrooming" refers to the phenomenon where a shopper visits a store to see and compare products but makes the purchase online at a lower price. Surveys on showrooming activities at home and abroad indicate that a significant number of consumers pursue showrooming activities. The advent of "showroomers," who engage in buying activities, hovering both on and offline, while selectively choosing sales channels to suit their needs, is powerful enough to erode the borders between channels and bring about seismic changes in the distribution industry. However, surprisingly, there has been no in-depth discussion on showrooming. This study seeks to theoretically investigate what impact personal characteristics have on showrooming preferences and attitudes in a multi-channel environment. Specifically, assumptions have been made that price perception, perceived performance risk, and trust in online shopping not only have a direct impact on showrooming attitudes but also indirectly affect it through the means of contact motivation. Research design, data, and methodology - To test the hypotheses, this study conducted a survey of male and female shoppers, ages 20 through 40s, who live in metropolitan areas, and have actively showroomed fashion items in the last six months. A clothing item usually purchased after a careful decision-making process was chosen as the target product of the study. The survey was conducted between October and November 2014, using a professional survey service provider. A total of 200 surveys were collected, of which 198 were used for analysis. Conceptual model Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and Amos 18.0 were employed for data analysis and model verification. In addition, following the confirmatory factor analysis and measurement model analysis, the theoretical model that corresponds to the research model was analyzed. Results - Analysis results show that price perception, perceived performance risk, and trust in online shopping have a statistically significant and positive (+) impact on showrooming attitudes. In addition, in terms of the indirect influence of price perception and perceived performance risk on showrooming attitudes through means of contact motivation, price perception had a statistically significant and positive impact on means of contact motivation, whereas perceived performance risk did not have a statistically significant impact on it, with the relevant hypothesis rejected. Conclusions - These analysis results imply that the ultimate goal of consumers is to maximize their shopping benefits by selectively and strategically taking advantage of different channels in a complementary manner. This study presents many implications for distributors to encourage a deep understanding of showrooming consumers who have complicated consumption behaviors and to build channel integration strategies. This study has limitations in theoretical and practical implications. Therefore, subsequent studies need to focus on verifying that showrooming activities are based on reasonable and planned decisions by applying the theory of reasoned or planned behavior. In addition, the scope of the study should expand to include web showrooming, where consumers conduct product research online and purchase offline.
In this study, a series of laboratory and in-situ tests such as FVTs and CPTUs were carried out to evaluate undrained shear strength related to quasi overconsolidated characteristics in the near-surface clay at Busan new port. Using unconfined compression and field vane test results, correlation between undrained shear strength and effective overburden pressure, that is, equation of $10+0.262{\sigma}^{\prime}v_0$ (kPa) was obtained. From oedometer tests, OCR is around 1.9 at depths lower than 7 m and OCR below this depth is very close to unit. As stated by Hanzawa et al. (1983), a natural clay deposit in the near-surface, even in normally consolidated state, is more and less apparently overconsolidated due to aging effects such as chemical bonding. Based on this concept, it can be inferred that intercept of equation is mobilized due to chemical bonding irrespective of effective overburden pressure and strength incremental ratio in normally consolidated state is 0.262. From CPTU results, same trend was confirmed. The further study should be necessary to judge whether upper clay is under overconsolidated state due to chemical bonding or not based on the depositional environment.

Objectives: This study was conducted to better understand the relationship between health effects and exposure to dusts from a briquette fuel complex in Ansim, Daegu, Korea. Methods: The subjects of this study consisted of 2,980 persons over 40 years old who had lived 20 years or more around a briquette fuel complex in Daegu. We conducted a questionnaire survey, and chest radiography was performed. In addition, chest computed tomography(CT) (335 cases) and pulmonary function test(PFT) (658 cases) were done. Pneumoconiosis was diagnosed if one of three radiologists determined(or suspected) pneumoconiosis. We also conducted in-depth interviews for pneumoconiosis cases. We defined the exposed group as subjects residing within a 500 meter radius from the walls of the briquette fuel complex, and the others were defined as the control group. Results: Subjects in the exposed and control groups are respectively 715(24%) and 2,265 cases(76%). Major respiratory symptoms in the exposed group such as sputum, dyspnea, chest tightness and wheezing were significantly higher than in the control group. By chest radiography, 173 cases of pneumoconiosis or suspicious pneumoconiosis were detected. By PFT, 62 cases(29.5%) of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) among 210 asymptomatic subjects were detected. Finally, by chest CT we concluded 28 cases to be pneumoconiosis, and eight cases among them proved to be pneumoconiosis by environmental exposure. Conclusions: Through this study, we concluded that health outcomes such as respiratory symptoms, pneumoconiosis, and COPD were caused by continuous exposure to dusts from the briquette fuel complex. Policies to reduce environmental exposure are needed, and cases of environmental disease should be intensively followed up by the government.
According to own investigation conducted by Korea Gas Safety Corporation Gas Safety Research Institute in 2017, the length of underground pipes in domestic high-pressure gas pipelines is approximately 770km, of which 84% is buried in Ulsan and Yeosu industrial complexes. In particular, 56% of underground pipelines have been in operation for more than 20 years. This suggests urgent management of buried high pressure gas pipelines. PHMSA in US and EGIG in Europe, major causes of accidents in buried gas pipelines are reported as third party damage, external corrosion and loss of pipe wall thickness. Therefore, it is important to evaluate whether the defects affect the remaining life of the pipe when defects occur in the pipe. DNV and ASME have evaluated the residual strength of pipelines through the hydraulic rupture test using pipe specimens with artifact flaws. Once the operating pressure is known through the residual strength of the pipe, the wall thickness at the point at which the pipe ruptures is calculated. If we know the accurate rate of corrosion growth, we can predict the remaining life of pipe. In the study, we carried out experiments with A53 Grade.B and A106 Grade.B, which account for 80% of domestic buried pipes. In order to modify the existing model equation, specimens with a defect depth of 80% to 90% was tested, and a formula expressing the relationship between defect and residual strength was made.
This paper investigates experimentally the fire resistance performance and spatting resistance of high performance reinforced concrete column member subjected to fire containing polypropylene fiber(PP fiber) and cellulose fiber(CL fiber). An increase in PP fiber and CL fiber contents, respectively resulted in a reduction of fluidity due to fiber ball effect. Air content is constant with m increase in fiber content. Compressive strength reached beyond 50 MPa. Based on fire resistance test, severe failure occurred with control concrete specimen, which caused exposure of reinforcing bar. No spall occurred with specimen containing PP fiber. This is due to the discharge of internal vapour pressure. Use of CL fiber superior to control concrete in the side of spatting resistance, localized failure at comer of specimen was observed. Corner of specimen had deeper neutralization than surface of specimen. Specimen containing PP fiber had the least damaged area due to spatting. Neutralization depth ranged between 6 and 8 mm Residual compressive strength of specimen containing PP fiber maintained 40%, which is larger than control concrete with 20% of residual strength. Specimen containing CL fiber had 25% or residual strength.
Thin bonded continuously reinforced concrete overlay(CRCO) was constructed on He existing jointed plain concrete pavement(HCP) surface at Seo-Hae-Ahn express highway in South Korea in order to evaluate its applicability and performance. Two sections of road were considered for this evaluation. In the first section, the concrete overlayer was placed and cut down to the existing layer to form transverse joints while CRCO was constructed on top of the existing layer in the second section. Early strength concrete(Type III) was utilized for both overlay sections. The depth of milling and the thickness of overlaid layer were 5 cm and 10 cm, respectively. Several vibrating wire gauges(VWG) were installed to evaluate the performance of CRCO with respect to curling, delamination, and crack propagation. As a result of the strength test, it was found that strength of the material reaches the design criteria within 1-3 days. Analysis with vibrating wire gauge(VWG) showed CRCO effectively restricts joint movement. High adhesive strength also was observed from the material regardless of length of aging. Meanwhile, transverse cracks were observed on the middle of the section where JPCP overlay was applied whereas arbitrarily cracks in transverse direction were observed on the section where CRCP was applied.
This study focused on examining the possibility of recycling mine solid waste as environmental materials, especially for porous media. Basic properties including mineralogical compositions, chemical compositions, and particle size distribution of the tailings from the Sangdong W mine were checked. The mineralogical and chemical compositions of the tailings samples were not much different in depth. According to Korean Standard Leaching Test for Wastes(KSLT), concentrations of heavy metals leached from the tailings were below the standard values. As a result of particle size analysis, the median diameter (d$_{50}$) of the tailings was in the range of 10 to 30 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. The stable tailings slurry made up of 3 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in d$_{50}$ was prepared using Attrition Mill. The milling condition was 40 vol% in slurry concentration, 700 rpm in stirring speed, and 1 hour in milling time. PEI was added as dispersing agent. Concentrated slurry was extended to 3 times by foaming method. In the case of 3 times foamed slurry, the total and open porosity of ceramic supports sintered at 1,075$^{\circ}C$ for 90 minutes was about 80% and 72%, respectively. Pore size was in the range of 30∼350${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. Therefore, the tailings could be recycled starting material for environmental materials such as macroporous ceramic support.

This study was designed to set up more developed curriculum in Nursing department of a junior college. The sample for the study were fifteen curriculums of fifteen selected junior colleges in Seoul and Kyunggi area. The credits and hours of each curriculum were analyzed into means and compared with the one of the example college. The data were categorized into seven sections; cultural subject, basic medical science, major subjects such as Nursing, Fundamental Nursing, electives, teaching and non-teaching subjects, and clinical practice. The data were analyzed by means of descriptive statistics. The results of the study were as follows; 1. Credit hours of Cultural subjects of each college ranges from $5.8\%\;to\;25.7\%$ of the total graduate credit hours; most commonaly lectured subjects are English 05 colleges), Korean (11 colleges), psychology (10 colleges), and computer (10 colleges). 2. In the case of the example college, Anatomy and Psychology were jointed as one subject, Basic Nursing Science, and some more study in depth should be made to develop more of this type of conjunction among related subjects on basic medical science. 3. As for the mendatory subjects of the example college, subjects on Adult Nursing was fourteen credits (14 hours), which was higher than the average 12.9 hours of other colleges compared. 4. Credit hours of Basic Nursing Laboratory were eight to ten credits (12-18 hours), which was higher than actual class hours. As more and more hospitals test clinical aptitude when recruiting nurses, more emphasis should be paid to the clinical practice. 5. Among fifteen sample curriculums six to twelve electives were offered with twelve to twenty-three credits. Most commonly opened subjects were Physical Examination (5), Nursing English (14). and Geriatrics Nursing (13). Nursing English are considered to be more important in the view of clinical practice. and Oriental Nursing, Nursing Information and Health Insurance Management should be considered as specialized subjects. 6. Teaching and Non-teaching subjects In case of the example school. Clinical Emergency Medicine, Introduction to Emergency Medicine were offered for these non-teaching class students so they could prepare for the qualification examination. 7. Clinical Practice The average credit hours for clinical practice of the sample college were 20.9 credit hours $(66.5\%)$ and the example school offered twenty credit hours which was slightly lower than the other forteen.
The purpose of this study is to utilize conventional procedures for evaluation of liquefaction potential and to compare the results obtained by modified detailed method based on Korean earthquake magnitude (M=6.5). Liquefaction potential is assessed by comparing liquefaction strength of soil and cyclic shear stress generated in the soil layers during earthquakes. The cyclic shear stress is computed from the earthquake response analysis, and liquefaction strength of soil is evaluated by using results from cyclic triaxial tests. The cyclic triaxial tests are performed on many different conditions of sample ; relative densities(50%, 60%, and 70%), initial effective confining pressures (70kPa, 100kPa, and 150kPa), and fine contents(10%, 20%, and 30%). From the result of comparing the conventional procedure with the modified detailed method, it is found that the modified detailed method tends to evaluate larger safety factor against liquefaction in the weak sand site$(FS \leq1.5)$. Therefore in this case, it is suggested that liquefaction potential should be evaluated by using the modified detailed method based on cyclic triaxial tests. It is also found that in modified detailed method based on earthquake magnitude 6.5, critical depth where liquefaction can be generated is around 15m from the ground surface.
Recently, the use of floating hologram has increased in many different aspects, such as exhibitions, education, advertisements, and so on. Especially, the floating hologram that makes use of half-mirror is widely used. Nevertheless, half-mirror, unfortunately, cannot lead users to the perfect three dimensional hologram experience. Even though it can make the vision look to be up on the air, it does not have the capacity to display itself up on the air, which is the ultimate goal of hologram. In addition, it looks inconsistent when a real object is located behind the half-mirror in order to show the convergence of the two (object and the half-mirror). In this paper, we did the study on comparison of 3D space perception for the stereoscopic AR holography. At first, we applied stereoscopic technology to the half-mirror hologram system for the accurate and realistic AR environment. Then, the users can feel as if the real 3D object behind half-mirror and the reflected virtual image are converged much better in the 3D space. Furthermore, by using depth camera, the location and direction of graphics can be controlled to change depending on the user's point of view. This is the effective way to produce augmented stereoscopic images simply and accurately through half-mirror film without any additional devices. What we saw from the user test were applying 3D images and user interaction leads the users to have 3D spatial awareness and realism more effectively and accurately.
