한국 도시경관의 새로운 계획 파라다임 -미학적 사고의 가능성 모색 (Exploring a New Planning Paradigm for Urban Landscape in Korea : An Aesthetic Approach)

  • This paper is to explore a new planning paradigm for urban landscape-not a new paradigm for urban landscape planning- in the light of environmental aesthetics. This is an endeavor to construct an alternative to the philosophical absence in the landscape profession. The landscape has been conceived of visual -oriented urban scene, and this notion is one of consequences of subject-object dualism in Western modernity project. In contrast with this convention, the authors consider urban landscape as the aesthetic field in which an experience of urban landscape actually works in human ordinary life and experience. To acquire an aestetic experience in this aesthetic field, we need to replace the doctrine of disinterestedness with engagement and contemplation with participation. This concept of participatory engagement with landscape can be translated in specific and concrete ways into urban landscape planning, replacing the traditional panoramic landscape with engaged landscape. The authors approach the urban landscape from the vantage point of an aesthetics of engagement by developing the four environmental situations : the sailing ship, the circus, the cathedral, and the sunset. They may serve as useful guides in cultivating and beautiful urban landscape to replace the forces of vulgarity and monotony that depress the modern city. 식습관과 노년기 골격상태와의 관계 연구 (The Study of the Relationship between Food Habits and Bone State in the Elderly)

  • To investigate the effect of food habits on the bone state of the senior citizens, two groups were tested: one(111 senior citizens) was healthy ordinary senior citizens over 65 years old and the other(51 senior citizens) was patients distinguished as having osteoporosis. The present dietary intake was estimated by a 24-hr recall method, and individual history. For the data analysis, percentages and frequencies were calculated and χ²-test was undertaken to test the relation among values. The following results were obtained: patient group with osteoporosis was less in height and weight than the group of ordinary senior citizens(160.33cm, 59.99kg). It was much less than the average Korean senior citizens(158cm, 54.9kg). Food appetite in the group of patient was worse than that of ordinary senior citizens group. According to their dietary history(58.8%), the food intake pattern was most of vegetables(62.0%). Eventhough they haven't been intaken milk after recognizing of their osteoporosis(74.5%). Most of them didn't improve their food habits to help Ca metabolism. Also they have depress of their life(50%). All subjects certainly took insufficient energy, Ca, protein from their diets. Moreover the major source of Ca were vegetables, seaweeds and legumes.

호도 약침액이 알레르기 유발 흰쥐에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Juglandis Semen Aqua-acupuncture and Acupuncture on the Allergic Response)

  • Experimental studies were done to research the clinical effects of Juglandis Semen aqua-acupuncture and acupuncture(BL13, BL17, BL13ㆍ17 and free points) on the anti-allergic inflammation response. The following results have been obtained ; JSAA was increased in the lymphocyte proliferation in cultured murine thymocytes and splenocytes. The production of IL-1β was decreased in Juglandis Semen aqua-acupuncture and acupuncture(BL13, BL17 and BL13ㆍ17) group. The production of IL-4 was decreased in Juglandis Semen aqua-acupuncture and acupuncture(BL13, BL17 and BL13ㆍ17) group. The production of total IgG was decreased in Juglandis Semen aqua-acupuncture(BL13 and BL13ㆍ17) and acupuncture(BL13, BL17 and BL13ㆍ17) group. According to the above results, Semen aqua-acupuncture and acupuncture(BL13, BL17 and BL13ㆍ17) both enhances the specific immune response in T and B cells and depress the allergic inflammation reaction.

우울증(憂鬱症)모델 흰쥐에 대한 조위승청탕(調胃升淸湯)과 fluoxetine의 항우울효과(抗憂鬱效果) 비교 (The effects of Jowiseungchungtang versus fluoxetine in the chronic mild stress model of depression in rats)

  • This study was performed to evaluate the effects of Jowiseungchungtang and fluoxetine in the chronic mild stress(CMS) model of depression in rats. Chronic exposure to mild unpredictable stress was found to depress the consumption of sucrose solution in rats for 5 weeks. These CMS-treated rats were stratified into Jowiseungchungtang group, fluoxetine group and vehicle group. And control rats were also stratified into other CMS-treated group. The change of the consumption of sucrose solution was measured, and open field test were performed to investigate the anti-depression effect of Jowiseungchungtang and fluoxetine. The results were as follows : 1. The consumption of sucrose solution was significantly reversed in Jowiseungchungtang-treated group at 7 week, but there was no significant change in other groups. 2. CMS schedule decreased body weight. Jowiseungchungtang group and fluoxetine group showed significant decrease of body weight after 6 weeks. 3. In open field test, Jowiseungchungtang group and fluoxetine group showed no significant change of exploratory activity.

UR농산물개방에 따른 도.농 토지전용의 공간적 파급효과 (An Urbanization Effect of Ruralto-Urban Land Conversion Under the Uruguay Round Agricultural Free Trade Policy : The Case of Korea)

  • This study begins with a question of what spatial impact international trade policy would have following the Uruguay Round, particularly focusing on agricultural trade liberalization in Korea. Based upon the neoclassical urban economic model, it first identifies the channel in which agricultural market opening can ultimately affect both rural and urban are as; $\circled1$ Free trade will depress domestic price of agricultural products, $\circled2$ which will in turn depreciate agricultural land price. $\circled3$ The decrease in marginal supply cost for urban land will then facilitate urban sprawl, provided that the government relaxes restrictions on urban-rural land conversion. Theoretical analysis is further refined by empirical considerations that distinguish agricultural land value solely for production purpose from that for future urban, uses, and that distinguish the urbanization effect caused by the fall in the supply cost of urban land from that caused by the existing high level of demand. Utilizing the estimate of bid-price for paddy field derived from the revenue-cost relationship of rice production, simulation results show that the urban-rural boundary under trade liberalization can expand outward up to 70-85km radius in the Seoul metropolitan area, suggesting the emergency of a metropolis or even a megalopolis which extends from Seoul to the central part of the country. Since the geographic extent of urbanization effect can vary depending upon the urban spatial structure, however, it is recommended that the redevelopment option in the built - up area should always be tied up with the issue of whether to deregulate rural-to-urban land conversion.

층상대지의 음수 유도분극 응답 (Negative Induced Polarization Responses over a Layered Earth)

  • 3층 구조 대지의 음수 유도분극 반응을 디지탈 선형 필터법으로 구하여 검토하였다. 음수의 유도분극 반응은 전기비저항 구조가 K니 Q형일 때 나타나며, K형 구조의 경우 Q형보다 더 뚜렷한 음수의 반응을 보여 준다. 이러한 구조일 때, 유도분극 계수는 전기비저항 분포와 전극 배치의 함수로 주어지며, 표층의 계수만이 음수의 값을 가질 수 있다. 따라서 음수의 유도분극 반응은 표층이 분극성일 때 생길 가능성이 있으며, 그 외의 층의 분극성은 오히려 음수의 유도분극 반응을 줄이는 역할을 한다.

  • The stability of a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) stack is strongly dependent on the magnitude and profile of the internal chemical potential of the solid electrolyte. If the internal partial pressure is too high, the electrolyte can be delaminated from the electrodes. The formation of high internal pressure is attributed to a negative cell voltage, and this phenomenon can occur in a bad cell (with higher resistance) in a stack. This fact implies that the internal chemical potential plays an important role in determining the lifetime of a stack. In the present work, we fabricate planar type anode-supported cells ($25cm^2$) with a bi-layer electrolyte (with locally increased electronic conduction at the anode side) to prevent high internal pressure, and we test the fabricated cells under a negative voltage condition. The results indicate that the addition of electronic conduction in the electrolyte can effectively depress internal pressure and improve the cell stability.

덱스트로메트르판이 마우스의 일차 체액성 면역반응에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Dextromethorphan on the Primary Humoral Immune Response in Mice)

  • Dextromethorphan hydrobromide (DXM) has been widely used as a nonopioid antitussive drug with low toxicity and low potential for drug dependency. DXM is a psychotropic drug since 2003 in our country. This study was performed to investigate the immunotoxicity induced by abuse of DXM. Mice were orally exposed to DXM dissolved in saline as concentration of 30, 60, and 120 mg/kg b.w. before (day-2) or after (day+2) immunization (OVA-antigen, day 0). Thereafter, we measured the increased rate of body weight, relative weight of organ (thymus, spleen, liver, kidney) and OVA-specific IgM level in sera. In addition, mouse splenocytes were exposed to various concentration of DXM $(0.001{\sim}100{\mu}M)$ and cultured with B cell mitogen (LPS) and splenocytes proliferations (SP) were measured by MTT-assay. Thymus-weight were slightly changed on day 9 after administration of DXM, but body-, spleen-, liver-, and kidney-weight were not different between control group and DXM-treated group. SP to LPS were significantly decreased at high concentration $(100{\mu}M)$ when compared with controls. When DXM was administered before or after immunization with OVA-antigen, OVA-specific IgM levels were significantly lowered in a dose-dependent manner. These results indicate that DXM nay depress the primary humoral immune response to the initial antigenic challenge.

  • The formation of brittle intermetallic compound such as $VAl_3$ tends tp lower the toughness of V-Al alloys. Also, due to the high melting point of vanadium, it is difficult to make that alloy by previous ingot metallurgy method. To depress the technique has been adopted. The effect of particle size and milling time on the phase has been thoroughly studied. For mechanical alloying, SPEX mixed/mill has been used. The milling time and the composition of V and Al are varied to find the optimum condition of forming amorphous phase. The X-Ray Diffrection pattern, microstructure detection, microhandess test, experiments are carried out to analyze MA product. When the final step is reached, no lamellar-structure is detected. The steady state condition is observed after 8 hours and 10 hours milling for 15wt.%Al and 30wt.%Al alloy, respectively. The microhardness continuously increases up to 10 hours after then it remains constant.

자오가피(刺五加皮) 약침액(藥針液)의 항(抗)알러지 효과(效果)에 대한 실험적(實驗的) 연구(硏究) (An experimental study of Antiallergic activity of Medicinal Acupunture Solution of Acanthopanax senticosus(Rupr. et Maxim.))

  • Objetives : This study was done to evaluate the antiallegic effect of medicinal acupuncture solution of Acanthopanax senticosus(Rupr. et Maxim;abbreviated as ASMA), studies were done experimentally. Methods : For this aim MTT assay, anaphylaxis reaction, DTH, histamine release, IgE production and vascular permability was evaluated. Results : ASMA didn't show an effective cytotoxicity on the mouse lung fibroblast. It insignifcantly suppressed histamine release from mast cells induced by compound 48/80, while it significantly reduced IgE production and SRBC-challenged DTH(Delayed type hypersensitivity). ASMA effectively suppressed anaphylactic reaction induced by compound 48/80. However, it didn't inhibit vascular permeability and contact dermatitis significantly. Conclusion:Medicinal acupucture solution had antialletgic effects. Acanthopanax senticosus medical acupuncture depress the allergy reaction. Especially in anaphylactic type, the effect was good.
