This study was conducted in order to know whether DFS questionnaire which can measure dental fear is suitable for dental fear measuring method and to know effect of dental fear on dental use behavior and treatment need degree. This survey was conducted from May 1, 2007 to May 31, 2007. A total of 281 surveys eligible among all the collected surveys were used in the analysis. Collected data were analyzed by using SPSS 12.0. The obtained results were as follows: 1. Based on the reliability analysis, we concluded that the questionnaire of dental fear was reliable, and the Cronbach' s alpha coefficients of the all subscales were more than 0.6. 2. Among the dental fear of 3 factors, treatment fear cause stimulation factor was higher than the others. Most of all, following two situations(when preparation was made and when people hear dental instrument operating sound) are the highest in the treatment fear. And women are higher than men in every item. 3. In the Dental treatment need degree caused by dental fear degree, high fear group was $4.76{\pm}1.954(M{\pm}SD)$ which was higher than that of low fear group.(low fear group was $4.07{\pm}2.184(M{\pm}SD)$. In conclusion, dental fear and dental treatment need degree are related each other.

Throughout the research, numerus SPSS 15.0 statistical techniques, T-test and ANOVA and Spearman correlation coefficients were used for analysis. Results: Key results of the study are as follows: Age was found to be statistically very significant to dft index(p=0.036). Age of mother, especially between 30 to 49, was found to be statistically significant to dft index rate(p=0.001). Occupation of father was also found to be statistically significant to dft index(p=0.036). High parental awareness in oral health care led to low dft index rate, which also was found to be statistically significant(p=0.036). Conclusions: In conclusion, as Spearman correlation coefficient demonstrates, occupation of father affects most on long-term healthy oral behavior followed by parental awareness in oral health care and age of mother.
Background: Nowadays, dental health problems in Indonesia are still quite high. It is one of which influenced by low public awareness of the importance of maintaining the health of teeth and mouth that can be measured by toothbrushing behavior. Based on the results of RISKESDAS 2018, only 2.8 percent of the population has a proper toothbrushing behavior. Behavior tends to form at age 6 to 12 years. At this age, children begin to develop habits that tend to settle until adulthood, including toothbrushing behavior. Social cognitive theory is a theory of behavioral change that explains that behavioral changes are influenced by the environment, personal, behavior where these three factors influence each other. This study aims to identify changes in the dental behavior of second grades students before and after the joint toothbrushing at school for 21 days. Methods: A pre-experimental study-design was conducted on elementary school by pre-post treatment method where there are 2 classes that get intervention and 2 other classes as control. A joint toothbrush is performed every morning before the school activities begin. Before and after the joint toothbrushing, all classes are given questionnaires to see if there are any changes in behavior seen through knowledge, attitudes, and practice. Results: Respondent group showed increasement on their knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors towards toothbrushing. In contrast, the control groups showed no significant differences in the 3 factors. Conclusion: In this study the education of toothbrushing through environmental changes is quite effective in elementary school children. Insights into the benefits of this program and refinements of optimally targeted intervention, including longitudinal studies are needed to improve the results.

The purpose of this study was to find the ethical values of dental hygiene students, to establish the right ethical values of the students, and to provide a fundamental material for the ethical education direction and curriculum of the students. In order to examine the general characteristics and ethical job behavior level among dental hygiene students, a research was conducted from 1st April 2017 to $30^{th}$ June 2017 through selecting freshman, sophomore, junior and senior students currently enrolled in the department of dental hygiene at 5 different colleges as the subjects. Statistical analysis was performed using IBM SPSS 22. The frequency analysis was used to examine their general characteristics. The independent t-test was used to examine their ethical job behavior according to their religion, hospital practice experience and code of ethics as a dental hygienist, and the one-way ANOVA was used to examine their ethical job behavior according to grade-specific characteristics. Lastly, the Scheffe's post hoc test was conducted. The significance level was 0.05. Given the results, ethical job behavior was significantly different between the group of students with religion, the group of students with hospital practice experience, different school year students, and the group of students aware of code of ethics as a dental hygienist.
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the oral health behavior and self-efficacy of adolescents. The subjects in this study were 300 selected students in a girls' high school located in the city of Iksan. A survey was conducted from November 2 to 5, 2014, with questionnaires that covered oral health behavior and self-efficacy, and the answer sheets from 298 respondents were analyzed by a statistical package IBM SPSS Statistics ver. 21.0. The group that got regular dental checkups (3.26) excelled the other group that didn't in self-efficacy (p<0.05), and the group who made use of oral care products and who brushed their teeth four times or more had a better self-efficacy than the other group that didn't. The students who considered themselves to be in better oral health scored higher in self-efficacy, and the groups who had no difficulties in pronunciation (3.66) and mastication (3.32) scored higher (p<0.01, <0.001). Masticatory dysfunction (r=-0.184) and pronunciation disorder (r=-0.200) were negatively correlated with self-efficacy, but oral health status (r=0.243) had a positive correlation with it. Self-efficacy was better when oral health status was better (p<0.001) and when there was no pronunciation disorder (p<0.01). The above-mentioned findings suggested that there was a close relationship between oral health behavior and self-efficacy. Therefore the kind of program that aims at changing youth oral health awareness and oral health behavior should be prepared to improve the self-efficacy of adolescents.

Fifty nine percent of the Koreans brushed their teeth 3 times a day while 62.3% of students in Canada brushed their teeth 2 times a day(p<0.0001). Those who were taught on oral health education tended to brush the teeth more frequently that those who had not. Koreans and Japanese tended to brush teeth more frequently after breakfast than the Taiwanese(p=0.005). Koreans also brushed teeth after dinner more frequently than Japanese, Taiwanese, and other foreigners(p=0.012). Background: This study aimed to analyze trends in oral health research among people with disabilities. Methods: Data were obtained from 70 oral studies on individuals with disabilities from 2000 to 2024. Keywords were analyzed. Frequency, betweenness centrality, and cluster analyses were performed using NetMiner. Results: The main keywords for oral health research on disabled people were oral health, dental caries, DMFT (decayed-missing-filled-teeth), dental treatment, oral health centers, and disabled children. As a result of the centrality analysis, DMFT had the highest connectivity, followed by disabled children, special care dentistry, oral health behavior, periodontitis, and health insurance.
