Objectives : The purpose of this study on the oral health behavior of foreign workers and dental care in the community is to identify actual oral health conditions of immigrated labors, to promote their oral health and to gather basic data providing them with proper oral health services Methods : Based on previous studies, The researchers wrote their own surveys in English, in Vietnamnese, in Tagalogue, in Thai. Making questions on the paper to 114 foreign workers in Pocheon, Gyeonggi-do were surveyed. Using the program SPSS 17.0 for Windows, the collected data were analyzed. The frequency analysis, the chi-square analysis and the correlation analysis was performed to recognize their relevance between the oral health status and the actual oral care and the subjective perception of oral health. Results : General characteristics of the foreign workers is the overwhelming majority of male demographic 78.9%. By age, 20-29 years of age accounted for 50%, and duration of stay in the city is less than 3-5 years to 68.4%, It was most common. The percentage going to the dentist when teeth hurt is although 56 percent. But the ratio to endure the pain without going to the dentist, was 44%. The main reason to not go to the dentist was the time 55.2% and cost 11.9%. A mere 9.6% of respondents knew about the free dental care and used. 67.5% of them was not aware of the free dental care agency, 59.6% were keen to use the free care. However, 40.4% did not want a free dental care because they did not have the time(26.3%), the distance is far away(3.5%), and difficulties in communication(3.5%) and the other(66.7%). Conclusions : The major percentage of the other reason(66.7%) why they did not want to go to free dental service, must be specifically identified. For the activation of free dental services, the active support of central and local governments is needed. By focusing on health-related departments of the University in the community, it is necessary to operate the program of the oral health care for foreign workers.
Objectives: This study aims to provide basic data for high-quality dental services. In addition, we will promote the operation of preventive dentistry that implements preventive measures. It was conducted to study the change of patient's treatment behavior and treatment cost due to the discontinuation of preventive dentistry in university dental hospitals. Methods: This study collected data using the integrated medical information system of the C University Dental Hospital. From September 1, 2017 to August 31, 2019, data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi-square test using SPSS version 24.0 statistical program, and T-test. Results: There was a significant difference in the number of preventive dental treatment cases from 58.3% of preventive dental operation periods to 41.7% of preventive dental operation periods. As a result of comparing the medical expenses, the total medical expenses during the preventive dental operation period decreased from 521,308,872 won to 379,724,995 won during the discontinuation period, 141,583,877 won. The number of medical treatments by treatment behavior decreased 3,835 (28.4%) from a total of 13,520 preventive dental operation periods to 9,685. Conclusions: This study is meaningful as the first study to confirm the change in the treatment behavior and the change in the cost of treatment due to the discontinuation of the operation of preventive dentistry at university dental hospitals. In conclusion, it is thought that there is a possibility of the lack of accessibility and the limitation of professional preventive care due to the discontinuation of preventive dentistry.
Objectives: This study investigated the relevance of dietary behavior and oral management for oral heath in adults to extend the recognition of the importance of food intake in oral health and to provide basic information for oral health management. Methods: A survey and clinical assessment were conducted for 119 adults over 20 years of age. The chi-square test and logistic regression analysis were carried out using SPSS Statistics 20.0. Results: Gingivitis was influenced less when ham and sausage in the sub-area of meat, fish, egg, and bean were consumed once a week rather than the cases when consumed rarely (3.47 times) or when consumed two times or more a week (7.87 times) (p<0.05). Periodontitis was influenced more in the groups of 30s and 40s age than in that of over 50 years of age (14.97 times, 7.73 times) and in the group without drinking experience than in group with that (4.17 times) (p<0.05). Conclusions: The results verified the close relationship between food intake frequency and oral health in patients with periodontitis and gingivitis. Thus, it would be necessary to study the relationship between dietary behavior and oral health continuously.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to identify causal factors for continuous innovative behavior and devise a plan for effective member management by improving continuous innovative behavior. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 190 clinical dental hygienists from June 1 to July 31, 2019. Data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0. The independent t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Scheffe's post-hoc test, and Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis were performed, and a stepwise multiple regression analysis was conducted. Results: Dental hygienists scored 3.43 points in innovative behavior. Variables influencing innovative behavior were emotional intelligence, self-efficacy, and educational level. These factors had a variance of 47.5% among clinical dental hygienists. Conclusions: It is necessary to develop a regular program aimed at improving the emotional intelligence and self-efficacy of clinical dental hygienists to exert a positive work effect and improve their innovative behavior rather than assigning them simple tasks.

Objectives: This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between general characteristics and oral health behavior, oral health knowledge, and oral health literacy for adult workers. Methods: This study chose some adult workers located D City by convenience sampling method, and accepted those who understood the purpose of the study and agreed with a survey as subjects. The final study subjects were 297 except 24 with unsound questionnaires among a total of 321 questionnaires. The contents of a survey were demographic characteristics, oral health behavior, oral health knowledge, and oral literacy, and the survey was done by a self-administered questionnaire. Results: In the verbal oral health literacy distribution based on REALM standard of the subjects, a scale of 7-8, 45-60 points by score was the highest with 62.0%. In average monthly household income and oral health knowledge level of general characteristics, oral health literacy was statistically significant, and was statistically significant according to oral health literacy, monthly income of house hold, and marital status as well, and was statistically significant in oral health knowledge and oral health literacy level according to oral health behavior and in the oral health knowledge level depending on a regular checkup. And In experience existence and nonexistence of oral health education and understanding and misunderstanding of dentistry and dental health education, and main body of the decision of dental treatment, verbal oral health literacy of oral health knowledge and oral health literacy was significant. It can be seen that based on correlation among general characteristics, oral health knowledge level, verbal oral health literacy, and functional oral health literacy, there is a correlation among gender and education level, age and average monthly income, and age and marital status. Conclusions: This study presented the need for oral health literacy along with the oral health knowledge of oral health behavior affecting adult workers' oral health, and tried to establish the connection among them. Accordingly, it is thought that an improvement plan of oral health literacy for the prevention and promotion of adult workers' dental disease in the future.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate attitudes toward and practice of oral health management among adults in the Gumi area. Health behavior especially drinking and smoking have been proven to affect the tissues around the teeth and increasing in importance. Thus the study set out to examine oral management according to drinking and smoking to suggest a need for education about oral health and provide basic data for oral health education. Methods : Total 226 subjects, who consist of 141 male adults and 85 female adults, in Gumi were asked to fill out a self-administered questionnaire on October 24, 2009. Their answers to the items about general characteristics, health behavior, and oral health behavior were analyzed with the SPSS WIN 12.0 program. Results : 1. As for the frequency of visiting a dental clinic(hospital) for the last year, the non-movement group recorded higher frequency than the movement group, and the drinking group also did than the non-drinking group(p<0.05). 2. As for the experience and frequency of scaling, the female subjects were higher in the experience and frequency of scaling than their male counterparts. The older they got, the more they tended to have scaling. The married respondents had more experiences of scaling than the singles, and the non-drinking group was high in the experience of scaling(p<0.05). 3. As for the number, time, and method of toothbrushing a day, more women answered they brushed teeth three times or more per day than men; those who were in their forties were the highest in terms of the roll method, and those who were in their twenties were the highest in terms of toothbrushing time. The married group and the non-smoking group answered they brushed teeth in the roll method three times or more per day in higher percentage. And the non-drinking group was high in the roll method, which was statistically significant(p<0.05). 4. As for use and kinds of auxiliary oral hygiene devices, the female respondents used them more than their male counterparts. The older they became, the more they used them. The married group, the non-smoking group, and the non-drinking group used such devices a lot. The smoking group used dental floss most, and the non-smoking group used more kinds of such devices than the smoking group, which was statistically significant(p<0.05). Conclusion : Oral diseases can be prevented by adopting healthy and right oral management behavior. Using the findings of the study, more diverse programs about actual oral health education should be activated so that people can change their bad oral management and behavior and develop a habit of the right oral management attitude.
Objectives : This study was to investigate the level of oral health concern and the purchase behavior of environmental friendly agricultural products and to determine the relationship between oral health concern and the purchase behavior of environmental friendly agricultural products. Methods : The subjects were 99 male(29.7%) and 234 female(70.3%), who were over 20 years with mean age of 39.6 years. The data was collected using personal interviews and a self administrated questionnaire from August 1 to September 30, 2008. Oral health concern was measured using the 7-items, and the purchase behavior of environmental friendly agricultural products was measured using the 7-items. The data were analysed with t-test, one-way ANOVA and multiple logistic regression using the SPSS 15.0 windows. Results : Regarding oral health concern, the subjects was a mean of 2.86 out of a maximum 5 points. There were differences in the level of oral health concern according to the purchase behavior of environmental friendly agricultural products(experience, period, frequency, price, weight). Conclusions : These results suggest that the strategies of habitual use environmental friendly agricultural products to put in practice oral health promoting behavior is needed to improve quality of life in people.

This study was performed to identify the oral health behaviors and dental clinics satisfaction of Chinese students' studying in Korea. This research was based on self questionnaire survey which 195 Chinese students in Korea. An interview questionnaire was used to collect information on general characteristics and oral health behaviors. Also, to compare between adults who participated to Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey and dental health conditions. The statistical analysis was done by using the SPSS 19.0 program. Chinese students in Korea brushing teeth average appeared to be 2.14, and Korean adults teeth brushing average appeared to be 2.81. So Korean adults brushing teeth appeared to be more higher than Chinese student in Korea(p<0.05). Chinese student in Korea appeared to be overall satisfaction for using domestic dental clinic was 3.77. For using domestic dental clinic, Chinese student in Korea tell that improvement they should consider was high costs(15.3%), difficulty with communication(8.6%), foreigner discrimination(5.7%) by order of this. Chinese student in Korea have to keep their dental health well and necessary to grow right habit of dental health through dental health education program to accomplish efficient education during staying in Korea to study.
Objectives : This study was to investigate the level of health risk behavior, athletes stress, quality of life(WHOQOL-BREF) and oral health related quality of life(OHIP-14) and the clinical factors influencing quality of life in athletes Methods : Data were obtained from a cross-sectional survey of 202 university athletes. Data was obtained by means of questionnaire from October 11 to October 15, 2010. Health risk behaviors(Q-F index and smoking), athletes stress, WHOQOL-BREF and OHIP-14 were measured. The data was analysed with t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression using the SPSS program. Results : The prevalence of alcohol drinking, smoking were 84.2% and 37.9%, respectively. Alcohol drinking and cigarette consumption were not related to quality of life though there were the negative correlation between athletes stress and quality of life. Powerful predictors of quality of life were athletes stress, OHIP-14 and perceived health for athletes. Conclusions : Based on the findings, quality of life has a significantly impact on athletes stress, OHIP-14 and perceived health. These results suggest that the implementation of health promotion program should be considered which was decreased athletes stress and was increased level of oral health and perceived health in athletes.

Objectives: This study was conducted to investigate the snack intake and brushing behavior according to the oral health education experience in some schools in Busan, and to investigate whether the oral health education experience affects the snack intake and brushing behavior. Methods: This study surveyed the entire fourth grade of elementary school in two districts by participating in university-linked oral health education activities run under the jurisdiction of the education office business to examine changes in the behavior of elementary school students in their snack intake and toothbrush. The survey was conducted on oral health education in elementary schools, prior oral health education experience before and after the activity, whether or not the brushing classroom was operated, and contents related to eating snacks and brushing behaviors. Result: Among the general characteristics of some schools in Busan, 69.9% of students have experience in oral health education and 30.1% of people have no experience in oral health education. 20.0%, 16.3% were 'normal' and 63.7% were 'helpful'. The brushing behavior according to the oral health education was 44.9% in the number of brushings, 44.9% in the number of brushings, 45.7% in 2-3 minutes in the time of brushing, 41.2% in the brushing method by sweeping the brush up and down. In the daily brushing period, 'after breakfast' was the highest at 72.3%, and the parent's brushing instruction was 'to lead' at 65.1%. The amount of sugar in subjective snacks was the highest with 60.6% of sugar content, and the parents had the highest level of 52.2% for parents' snack intake. This result was more significant than the students without oral health education experience. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, the number and time of brushing, the method and timing of brushing according to the experience of oral health education. Students who had oral health education experience higher than those who did not have oral health education, but had a lower tendency to brush after lunch at school and before going to bed. For better oral health, the effect of oral health education will be better if the school has more systematic toothbrushing at lunch time and parental guidance at home.
