Objectives: This study aimed to investigate oral health-related knowledge in adults and to determine the effect of oral health knowledge on correct brushing and use of dental care products. Methods: The subjects of this study were 552 adults who visited dental clinic, and a self-administered questionnaire was administered. Statistical analysis was performed using the t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression using the SPSS statistics program (ver. 23.0, IBM Co., Chicago, IL, USA). Results: The oral health knowledge level, correct brushing, and dental care product usage scores were found to be positively correlated (r=0.015, 0.016), and both correlation coefficients were statistically significant (p<0.05). Oral health knowledge was found to have a significant effect on correct brushing among oral health promotion behaviors (β=0.116, p=0.006), but it was not found to have a significant effect on the use of dental care products (β=0.053, p=0.214). Conclusions: Oral health promotion behavior is closely related to oral health knowledge, and it is thought that oral health promotion behavior can be improved by raising oral health knowledge levels.

Methods : The raw data of 'The Third 2007 Youth Health Behavior Online Survey' carried out by the Korea Center for Disease Control and Prevention were analyzed. All survey data collected was processed using SPSS ver 17.0 for data analysis as Frequency analysis, chi-square and Logistic regression analysis. Results : 1.The adolescents who have parents with college degree are 70% higher of dental services utilization than the adolescents counterpart(whose parents don't have degrees). And also the adolescents living in cities are 1.3 times higher use of dental services than others living in countries. 2. In case of drinking soda, students having soda 4 days per week on average are 1.2 times higher use of dental services than who don't. 3.The students brushing teeth after lunch are 0.9 times lower use of dental service than who don't. And the students who have tooth ache whenever they have a meal are 1.6 times higher use of dental service than the students who don't have tooth ache. The students who had a dental health education are 1.4 times higher utilization of dental service than who don't. The difference of using dental service between the students who have gum disease and halitosis and the students who don't is almost none. 4. The students who drink alcohol and smoke 10 days more or less a month are 0.8 ~ 0.9 times lower use of dental service than who don't. Conclusions : The rate of utilizing dental service is higher at students who live with parents having college degrees and the more have oral health behavior, the less use of dental service for treatment. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of attitude of mothers on the dental health and behavior of dental health management on children on the dental caries of their children, and the questionnaire survey was implemented and analyzed for 202 children in fifth and sixth grades of two elementary schools in Ulsan City along with their mothers with the following outcome. 1. 80 students from entire subject students(39.6%) are subjects of dental caries with the average DT index shown to be $1.78{\pm}1.04$ and tended to have higher in the upper level of grade. 2. In the attitude of dental health management for mother, 95 students(47.0%) visited the dental clinic within 6 months with the main purpose of treatment, rather than preventive work, for 141 students(69.8%), and hey have high level of interests on the teeth condition of their children but they rarely take a close look at the dental condition for their children. 3. The efforts of mothers on preventing the dental caries by mothers showed in the sequence of regular instructions for brushing, limiting the sugar intake, fluorine coating, sealant, regular examination and the like and DT rate will be decreased by these kinds(p<0.05). 4. The number of dental caries of children with the attitude of mother in dental health showed noticeable differences statistically with respect to the brushing method, use of dental sanitation goods, scaling, visit to dental office and others(p<0.05).
