In this study, construction modulus, void ratio and settlement characteristics of 38 CFRD in domestic and foreign countries was investigated from monitoring data and the effect of field dry density and void ratio to dam body was analyzed. The standard void ratio of CFRD that can be easily used for dam designer and field engineer was proposed from the monitoring data. It was conformed that we can get the degree of compaction needed for reasonable compaction of dam body by calculating the field dry density from inverse operation of the standard void ratio. It was thought that the standard void ratio of CFRD is 0.2 as shape factor is under 4 and is 0.28 as shape factor is over 4.

PFA(Paper Fly Ash) are reclaimed mainly or used in cement industry field as mixture agent in terms of materials recycling. Recently, research for recycling PFA as embankment materials or soil stabilization agent are undergoing in geotechnical engineering field. In this study, physical characteristics of PFA stabilization agent-soil admixtures are examined in change of water content, void ratio, consistency, grain distribution, specific gravity and density. Futhermore, the physical characteristics are compared with unconfined strength as engineering characteristics. Test results showed that unconfined strength and density are increased with increasing of PFA stabilization agent mixed ratio. On the other hand, specific gravity, void ratio and water content are decreased with increasing of PFA stabilization agent mixed ratio. It would be concluded that natural high water content ratio weak soil could be highly improved engineering and physical characteristics with PFA stabilization agent
Recently the landscape of housing has been emphasized. This trend seems to reflect the negative aspects of housing landscape in urban area. Throughout the analysis on the various visual density index, the following findings were obtained; 1) Elevation blockage ratio(EBR) was permitted differently according to the types of housing blocks, and the preference of block layout was different to the location of site. 2) EBR regulation level was acceptable. But 40m level of general area should be stepped up to the 35m level. 3) The correlation between the floor area ratio(FAR) and the EBR was not high. Therefore it is reasonable to regulate the EBR to the location. 4) Elevation coverage ratio(ECR) was highly correlated with the FAR. It means that FAR can substitute for the ECR, and ECR should be regulated to the level of FAR.
High-speed flight vehicle have various cavities. The supersonic cavity flow is complicated due to vortices, flow separation and reattachment, shock and expansion waves. The general cavity flow phenomena include the formation and dissipation of vortices, which induce oscillation and noise. The oscillation and noise greatly affect flow control, chemical reaction, and heat transfer processes. The supersonic cavity' flow with high Reynolds number is characterized by the pressure oscillation due to turbulent shear layer, cavity geometry, and resonance phenomenon based on external flow conditions, The resonance phenomena can damage the structures around the cavity and negatively affect aerodynamic performance and stability. In the present study, we performed numerical analysis of cavities by applying the unsteady, compressible three dimensional Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS) equations with the ${\kappa}-{\omega}$ turbulence model. The cavity model used for numerical calculation had a depth(D) of 15mm cavity aspect ratio(L/D) of 3, width to spanwise ratio(W/D) of 1.0 to 5.0. Based on the PSD(Power Spectral Density) and CSD(Cross Spectral Density) analysis of the pressure variation, the dominant frequency was analyized and compared with the results of Rossiter's Eq.

The purpose of this study was to determine the thermal characteristics of men's suits ensembles and their fabrics. For the study, 100% wool fabrics were woven with various fabric structure, fabric density and yam count and With the use of these, 12 men's suits were made with the same design. Physical characteristics that affect thermal transport properties, including drapery, cover factor; bulk density, keeping warmth ratio, vapor permeability, air permeability and porosity of the fabrics were measured. In addition, thermal resistance of men's suit ensembles, including Y-shirts, inner wear and socks was measured on the thermal manikin in the environmental chamber. The result of the study was as follows: 1. In terms of fabric structure, keeping warmth ratio of plain woven fabrics was higher than those of twill and satin woven fabrics and also, vapor and air permeability and porosity of plain woven fabrics were higher than those of twill and satin woven fabrics. 2. The result showed that thermal resistance of 12 ensembles were in the range of 0.77clo~0.97clo. 3. There was little correlation between woven condition such as, including structure, fabric density and yam count and thermal resistance of ensembles.

This paper focuses on the unsteady close-contact melting phenomenon occurring between a phase change material kept at its melting temperature and a flat surface on which constant heat flux is imposed. Based on the same simplifications and framework of analysis as the case of constant surface temperature, an approximate analytical solution which depends only on the liquid-to-solid density ratio is successfully derived. In order to keep consistency with the known solution procedure, both the dimensionless wall heat flux and the Stefan number are properly redefined. The obtained solution proves to agree quite well with the published numerical data and to be capable of resolving the fundamental features of unsteady close-contact melting, especially in the presence of the solid-liquid density difference. The density ratio directly affects the film growth rate and the initial value of solid descending velocity, thereby controlling the duration of unsteady process. The effects of other parameters can be evaluated readily from the steady solution which is implied in the normalized result. Since the dimensionless surface temperature for the present boundary condition increases from zero to unity along the evolution path of the liquid film thickness, the unsteady process lasts longer than that for the case of isothermal heating.

Alluvial plain of the coast of Kum river tail were found as being mostly consisted of weak foundation. The settlement of the ground, density and change of moisture content which were formed by the load due the construction of earth works were disclossed by the field investigations and laboratory tests. The results are as follow, 1) Banking materials are SM and soft soil stratum is CL. 2) Field moisture content; Wf=19-1.37c c; percentage of clay (less than 0.005mm) 3) optimum water content and maximum density of banking materials; rt=2.15$\mid$0.0165W(12%24%) 4) Density and moisture coutent of banking materials; rt=2.146-0.0095W (8%50%) 5) Density and moisture content of weak foundation; rt=2.06-0. 007W After construction (20%50%) Befor construction (40%60%) 6) Load and settlement of weak foundation; Everage settlement ratio; 12% of actual load p Maximum settlement ratio; 19% of actual load p Minimum settlement ratio: 5% of actual load p 7) Relation of cohesion and unconfined compression test value; c=1/2qu (qu<0.5kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$) c=1/3qu (qu<0.5kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$)
This research was conducted to determine effect of pumice aggregate ratio, cement dosage and slumps on freeze-thaw resistance, density, water absorption and elasticity of concrete. In the first batch, $300kg/m^3$ cement dosage were kept constant and pumice ratios were changed as 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of replacement for normal aggregate by volume for $3{\pm}1cm$, $5{\pm}1cm$ and $7{\pm}1cm$ slumps. Other batches were prepared with $200kg/m^3$, $250kg/m^3$, $350kg/m^3$, $400kg/m^3$ and $500kg/m^3$ cement dosages and 25% pumice aggregate +75% normal aggregate at a constant slump. Test results showed that when pumice-aggregate ratio decreased the density and freeze-thaw resistance of concretes increased. With increasing of cement dosage in the mixtures, density of the concretes increased, however, freeze-thaw resistance of concretes decreased. Water absorption of the concrete decreased with increasing cement dosage but increased with the pumice ratio. Water absorption of the concrete also decreased after freeze-thaw cycles. Freeze-thaw resistance of concretes was decreased with increasing the slumps.
Purpose of this study is reviewing the use method for the sawdust (sawmilling by-product) and rice husk (Agriculture by-product) by adding charcoal, an eco-friendly material. Mixed composite boards were manufactured with those materials with each density and mixing ratio, and bending performance was investigated. When the addition ratio of sawdust, rice husk and charcoal is 50:20:20 and the resin addition ratio is 10%, as the density of the prepared mixed board ranges from 0.5 g/cm3 to 0.7 g/cm3, the bending strength was 0.42~3.24 N/mm2, dynamic modulus of elasticity was 94.5~888.4 N/mm2, and the static modulus of elasticity was in the range of 31.4~220.7 N/mm2. As the density increased, the bending performance increased, indicating that the density had a significant effect on the bending performance. In a board prepared by setting the density of 0.6 g/cm3, the addition ratio of sawdust to 50%, and the addition ratio of rice husk and charcoal at different ratios, the bending performance showed a tendency to decrease as the addition ratio of charcoal increased. The relationship between the addition ratio of rice husk and charcoal, bending strength, resonance frequency, and dynamic and static bending modulus showed a rather low correlation with the values of the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.4562, 0.4310, 0.4589, and 0.5847, respectively. Thus, we found that the effect of the addition ratio on the bending performance was small.
