We considered most general electron emission caused by temperature as well as electric field with a free electron gas model. The total electron emission current density comes from field emission effect where electron energy is lower than vacuum and from thermionic emission effect where electron energy is higher than vacuum. The total electron emission current density is shown as a function of temperature for constant electric field, and as a function of electric field for constant temperature.

The lead-free piezoelectric ceramics must have high piezoelectric properties and electrical properties for the applications of piezoelectric devices. Therefore, KNN ceramics were investigated as a function of the variation of Nb. The density was increased with the increase of Nb. The density was saturated above 0.8895 mol Nb. The maximum value of electromechanical coupling coefficient(kp) was obtained 0.428 at 0.8895mol Nb. This result can be attributed to the well sintered of specimens. Also, The maximum value of mechanical quality factor(Qm) showed 1554 at 0.8895mol Nb. Therefore, this composition can be used for application of piezoelectric device such as piezoelectric transformer and piezoelectric actuator.
We consider here the problem of spectral estimation of multidimensional wide sense stationary (WSS) random process. A method, employing a special difference equation of correlation function, is proposed to solve the problem of multidimensional spectral estimation. In this approach, the special difference equation of correlation function is derived by modal decomposition method. Maximum likelihood estimator and Kalman filter are used to estimate the model parameters of the difference equation and the decomposed spectral residues. An algorithm is presented to estimate the multidimensional spectral density. According to the result of the simulation, these methods are feasible to estimate the spectral density of WSS process, which is realized by finite dimensional multivariable lineal system driven by white noise.

While quasars are sparse in number density, they reside at relatively high-redshift as compared to e.g. luminous red galaxies. Hence, they are likely to be less non-linearly evolved than the galaxy population, and thus have a distribution that more closely mirrors the primordial density field. Therefore, they offer an intriguing opportunity to search for Baryonic Acoustic Oscillations (BAO). To this end, the 3-point correlation function (3PCF) is an excellent statistical tool to detect BAO. In this work, we will make the first-ever measurement of the large-scale quasar 3PCF from the SDSS-IV DR14 quasar sample (spanning the largest volume to-date). This work will use the order N2-time 3PCF algorithmof Slepian & Eisenstein (2015), with N the number of objects.
This paper investigates how intentional mistuning of bladed disks reduces their sensitivity to unintentional random mistuning. The class of intentionally mistuned disks considered here is limited, for cost reasons, to arrangements of two types of blades (A and B, say). A two-step procedure is then described to optimize the arrangement of these blades around the disk to reduce the effects of unintentional random mistuning. First, a pure optimization effort is undertaken to obtain the pattern (s) of the A and B blades that yields small/the smallest value of the largest amplitude of response to a given excitation in the absence of unintentional random mistuning using Genetic Algorithm. Then, in the second step, a qualitative/quantitative estimate of the sensitivity for the optimized intentionally mistuned bladed disks with respect to unintentional random mistuning is performed by analyzing their amplification factor, probability density function and passband/stopband structures. Examples of application with simple bladed disk models demonstrate the significant benefits of using this class of intentionally mistuned disks.

This paper describes characteristics of the flow pattern of the flow past a rectangular cylinder experimentally investigated. The width-to-length ratio of the section varried from 2 to4. For the statistical treatment, autocorrelation coefficient, probability density function and power spectral density function are obtained by the digital processing technic through on-line system with a hot wire anemometer. As a results, it was found that strong periodic coherent eddies structure is sustained to about 20H downstream from the cylinder. And nearer the cylinder in the wake, the number of turbulent eddies of a large scale coherent structure are comparatively much more dominant than that of a small scale one. By the analysis of power spectrum, It was cleared that there exists a certain range of the width to length ratio between 2.5 and 3 of which the flow pattern changes abruptly with a sudden discontinuity in Strouhal number.

Two-dimensional turbulent wake flow past a rectangular cylinder is investigated experimentally by using the linearized constant temperature hot-wire anemometer. Some of turbulent characteristics are obtained at the range of X=6B-500B downstream from the cylinder and the Reynolds number range is 500-2800. For the statistical treatment, autocorrelation coefficient, probability density function and power spectral density function are obtained by using the signal analyzer. It is clear that coherent structure of strong periodic eddies exists to the position of 20B downstream from the cylinder, and its feature is similar to round type as nearer to the cylinder while it is stretched longitudinally along with flow direction as the distance from the cylinder is increased to downstream.

The stochastic nonlinear dynamic behavior and probability density function of ship rolling are studied using the nonlinear dynamical systems approach and probability theory. The probability density function of the rolling response is evaluated through solving the Fokker Planck Equation using the path integral method based on a Gauss-Legendre interpolation scheme. The time-dependent probability of ship rolling restricted to within the safe domain is provided and capsizing is investigated from the probability point of view. The random differential equation of ships' rolling motion is established considering the nonlinear damping, nonlinear restoring moment, white noise and colored noise wave excitation.
The main purpose of this study is to determine the effect of overlay on the crack propagation. In order to simplify the problem, a cement concrete pavement is modeled as an elastic plate on Winkler foundation. To derive the singular integral equations, the Fourier transform and dislocation density function are used. Lobatto-Chebyshev integration formula, as a numerical method, is used to solve the singular integral equations. The numerical solution of stress intensity factor at the crack tip is derived. In order to examine the effect of overlay for resisting crack propagation, numerical analyses are carried out for a cement concrete pavement with an embedded crack and a concrete pavement with an asphalt overlay. Results show the significant factors that influence the crack propagation.

In this paper the change point problem of the error terms in linear regression models is considered. Since fixed or stochastic independent variables and weakly dependent errors are assumed, usual multiple regression models and time series models including ARMA are covered. We use the estimates of probability density function based on residuals in order to test the distribution change of the unobserved errors. Under some mild conditions, the test using the residuals is proved to have the same limiting distribution as the test based on true errors.
