It is widely known that the sound insulation of soundproof panel is highly correlated to two factors, surface density of material and the frequency of noise. Accordingly, the character of traffic noise released in actual situation is important requisite for determining thickness to determine surface density and material of soundproof panel. This present study selected polymer panel with advantage of light weight and workability and evaluates according to frequency of traffic noise. Polypropylene (PP) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) were selected as subjects based on economic valuation and efficiency. The sound transmission loss of selected polymer panels were compared with the currently used panels such as polycarbonate (PC) and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) depending on thickness and materials. As a result, PC showed the highest sound transmission loss followed by PMMA, HDPE, and PP in range of mass law. In terms of acoustic performance on thickness, the transmission loss increased with thickness of soundproof panel meanwhile coincidence dip was observed in lower frequency where had reduced transmission loss. Therefore, it is suggested that after determining target frequency, the kind of materials and thickness of soundproof panel need to be designed so that traffic noise can be more efficiently reduced.

A three-dimensional Galerkin-FEM model which can handle the temporal and spatial variation of density is presented. The hydrostatic approximation is used and density effects are included by means of conservation equation of heat and the equation of state. The finite difference grids are used in the horizontal plane and a set of linear-shape functions is used for the vertical expansion. The similarity transform is introduced to solve resultant matrix equations. The proposed model was first applied to the density-driven circulation in an idealized basin in the presence of the heat exchange between the air and the sea. The advection terms in the momentum equation were ignored, while the convection terms were retained in the heat equation. Coefficients of the vertical eddy viscosity and diffusivity were fixed to be constant. Calculation in a non-rotating idealized basin shows that the difference in heat capacity with depth gives rise to the horizontal gradient of temperature. Consequently, there is a steady new in the upper layer in the direction of increasing depth with compensatory counter flow .in the lower layer. With Coriolis force, geostrophic flow was predominant due to the balance between the pressure gradient and the Coriolis force. As a test in region of irregular topography, the model is applied to the Yellow Sea. Although the resultant flow was very complex, the character of the flow Showed to be geostrophic on the whole.
In seven species of Korean Asarum, 44 qualitative and 28 quantitative characters were reviewed taxonomically. Among 44 qualitative characters observed in vegetative and reproductive organs, the states of 27 characters were common in all the seven species. Among 28 quantitative characters, five characters have the same values in all the seven species; the number of cataphyll (2-4), leaf (2), calyx lobe (5), stamen (12) and pistil (6). White spots on adaxial surface of leaf (effectively) distinguished A. maculatum and A. versicolor from the other species. Many long soft hairs on abaxial surface of leaf distinguished A. mandshuricum from other species with short hairs. The glandular hairs on inner surface of calyx tube were divided into 2 types, reflecting the taxonomic relationships between the species: Type 1 has non-stalked glandular hairs (A. maculatum, A. sieboldii and A. sp.), and Type 2 has stalked glandular hairs (A. patens, A. versicolor, A. mandshuricum and A. misandrum). The length, shape, colour of calyx lobe and the extent to which the calyx lobe recurves, as well as the diameter and colour of calyx tube throat, were confirmed to be taxonomically valuable. In the case of glandular hair density on the surface of calyx lobe, A. patens with low density and A. sp. with high density were clearly distinct from all the other species with intermediate hair density. Meanwhile, the stylar protuberance length of A. patens (2.9-3.3 mm) was strikingly different from other species (1.4-2.5 mm). Additionally, further examination of the identities of A. yeonbyeonense and A. yeonbyeonense var. viridiluteolum is required.
Field emission display(FED) using carbon nanotubes (CNT) as field emitters is expected to large-area panels with high luminance and low power consumption. In order to perform the uniform luminance with low driving voltage, we introduced a new electrode to apply higher electric potential over the CNT cathode in 2003.[1] In the study, we described the luminance uniformity of the panel and the improvement of emission uniformity by increasing the emission-site density. The luminance uniformity of the several ideal dots which were selected over the display area in the panel was 2.8%. [2] The CNT cathode was irradiated by excimer-laser, which was effective to improve emission uniformity and lower driving voltage. A prototype of CNT-FED character display was performed for middle size message displays. The prototype panel had 48 x 480-dots and the resolution was 1-mm. The panel realized high luminance at low power consumption. It will be important characteristics for legible and ubiquitous displays. [3]
The interfacial structures of ZnSe/GaAs which were grown by single chamber MBE at $300^{\circ}C$ were investigated by high resolution transmission electron microscope working at 300 kV with resolution of 0.18 nm. The interfaces of ZnSe/GaAs whose thickness is 2,700 nm are wavy and extensive stacking faults were formed in ZnSe epilayer but the interfaces maintained the coherency with the substrate GaAs. The stacking faults are formed in {111} planes and their sizes are $10{\sim}20nm$ in length and two or three atomic layer in width with the density of $10^9/cm^2$. Micortwins and moire fringes are also observed. However. in 10 nm ZnSe epilayer, the interfaces are pseudomorphic and only moire fringes are observed in local areas. The cylindrical defects which are perpendicular to the interface with $50{\sim}60nm$ in length, were observed with the interval of 50 nm at ZnSe/GaAs interfaces in 2,700nm epilayer. The origin and character of these defects are unknown, however, they played a role of producing the structural defects at the interfaces.

Carbon nanofibers have synthesized a low temperature using DC Ar plasma and Fe-Phthalocyanine, and a characteristic difference of the synthesized CNF according to the location of the substrate was investigated. The carbon nanofibers had about 100nm diameter and up to $10{\mu}m$ length. These were grown in random orientation. There are two shapes in the CNFs, screw and straight line shapes. Furthermore, we found the selective growth of nanofibers on the scratched substrates. The density of CNFs synthesized on the position (a) were higher than that synthesized on the position (b) [See the Fig. 2]. Also, the length of CNFs was different. In the shape, CNFs with screw and straight line shape were synthesized in the position (a), but. only CNFs with straight line shape were synthesized in the position (b). The difference have an important effect on the field emission characteristics.

As the rotational speed of optical disk drive is increasing nowadays, the reliability to vibration and shock becomes more important. For this, various of rubber vibration isolators are being developed by varying the shape and hardness. But it is difficult for the hardness of common used rubber to be lowered below Duro 30 degrees, and because of the shape complexity of rubber vibration isolator there are difficulties of analysis. Microcellular foamed vibration isolator has various cell densities and cell sizes, so it can vary the stiffness and damping coefficient. In addition, its hardness can be lowered below Duro 30 degrees. Axiomatic Approach is very useful design method for designing new product or new process. Axiomatic Approach's character is scientific and analytical method. In this paper, developing process of microcellular foamed vibration isolator for DVD is presented with Axiomatic Approach.
Information of video can be percieved as the form of visual rhythm through temporal ordering systems. The shot, the base unit of video analysis, affects audience psychologicaliy with various temporal combination. Here, psychological stress and density of the story can be adjusted by the point of view shot of character. Acordingly the correlation analysis of shot duration and point of view shot can be useful for visual rhythm research. Identity one of the thriller genre works was selected for analyzing. Carbon materials were synthesized by pyrolysis from fibers of Corn-straw (Zea mays), Rice-straw (Oryza sativa), Jute-straw (Corchorus capsularis) Bamboo (Bombax bambusa), Bagass (Saccharum officinarum), Cotton (Bombax malabaricum), and Coconut (Cocos nucifera); these materials were characterized by scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Raman spectra. All carbon materials are micro sized with large pores or channel like morphology. The unique complex spongy, porous and channel like structure of Carbon shows a lot of similarity with the original anatomy of the plant fibers used as precursor. Waxy contents like tyloses and pits present on fiber tracheids that were seen in the inherent anatomy disappear after pyrolysis and only the carbon skeleton remained; XRD analysis shows that carbon shows the development of a (002) plane, with the exception of carbon obtained from bamboo, which shows a very crystalline character. Raman studies of all carbon materials showed the presence of G- and D-bands of almost equal intensities, suggesting the presence of graphitic carbon as well as a disordered graphitic structure. Carbon materials possessing lesser density, larger surface area, more graphitic with less of an $sp^3$ carbon contribution, and having pore sizes around $10{\mu}m$ favor hydrogen adsorption. Carbon materials synthesized from bagass meet these requirements most effectively, followed by cotton fiber, which was more effective than the carbon synthesized from the other plant fibers.

In recent years, polymer/clay nanocomposites have generated a great interest, both in industry and in academia, because they often exhibit remarkable improvement in material properties when compared with the virgin polymer or conventional micro and macro-composites. Among these properties are stiffness, strength, dimensional stability and permeability. [1-3] The dispersion of hydrophilic silicates in a hydrophobic matrix like Polyethylene (PE) is difficult because of the difference in character between PE and Montmorillonite (MMT). Therefore, it is necessary to modify PE with polar groups, which can increase the hydrophilicity of PE. In this study, High density polyethylene (HDPE)/$Mg(OH)_2$/Montmorillonite (MMT) nanocomposites having a various compositions were prepared by a melt blending technique with an internal mixer and properties namely mechanical, morpology, rheological and thermal properties were investigated
