  • During hyperthermia therapy, cancer cells are heated to a temperature in the range of $40{\sim}45^{\circ}C$ for a defined time period to damage these cells while keeping healthy tissues at safe temperatures. Prior to hyperthermia therapy, the amount of heat energy transferred to the cancer cells must be predicted. Among various non-invasive methods, the thermal prediction method using the specific absorption rate (SAR) is the most widely used method. The existing methods predict the thermal distribution by using a single constant for the mass density in one organ through assignment. However, because the SAR and the bio heat equation (BHE) vary with the mass density, the mass density of each organ must be accurately considered. In this study, the mass density distribution was calculated using the relationship between the Hounsfield unit and the mass density of tissues in preceding research. The SAR distribution was found using a quasi-static approximation to Maxwell's equation and was used to calculate the potential distribution and the energy distributions for capacitive RF heating. The thermal distribution during exposure to RF waves was determined by solving the BHE with consideration given to the considering contributions of heat conduction and external heating. Compared with reference data for the mass density, our results was within 1%. When the reconstructed temperature distribution was compared to the measured temperature distribution, the difference was within 3%. In this study, the density distribution and the thermal distribution were reconstructed for the agar phantom. Based on these data, we developed an algorithm that could be applied to patients.

(Wolff 1892, Keller et al. 1989, Codyet al. 1992). 뼈의 밀도의 함수인 뼈의 탄성계수와 강도 또한 실험적 결과와 매우 유사하였다. (Keller et al. 1989, Carter and Hayes 1977).

  • The disjoining pressure is critical in modeling the transport phenomena in small scales. They are very useful in characterizing the non-continuum effects that are not negligible in heat and mass transports in the film of less than submicro-scales. We present he disjoining pressure of thin film absorbed on solid substrate using Molecular Dynamics Simulation (MD). The disjoining pressure with respect to the film thickness is accurately calculated in the resolution of a molecular scale. The characteristics of the pressure are discussed regarding the molecular nature of the fluid system like molecular diameter and intermolecular interaction. Also, the MD results are compared with those based on the macroscopic approximation of the slab-like density profile. Significant discrepancy is observed when the effective film thickness is less than several molecular diameter

  • The systems with probe and SIL(Solid Immersion Lens) mechanisms have been researched as the technology to perform NFR(Near Field Recording). Most of them use the flying head mechanism to accomplish high recording density and fast data transfer rate. In this paper, ABS shape of flying head was optimized with the object of securing the maximum compliance ability of OFH. We suggest low different optimization processes to predict the static flying characteristics for the OFH. Two different approximation methods, regression analysis and back propagation neural network were used. And we compared the result of directly connected(between CAE and optimizer) method and two approximated optimization results. Design Optimization Tool(DOT) and ${\mu}GA$ were used as the optimizers.

  • The direct calculation method is generalized to the excited-state diffusion-influenced reversible reaction of a neutral and a charged particle under an external field with two different lifetimes and quenching in three dimensions. The present method provides an alternative way to calculate the binding probability density functions and the survival probabilities from the corresponding irreversible results. The solutions are obtained as the series solutions by the diagonal approximation due to the anisotropy of the unidirectional external field. The numerical results are found to be in good agreement with those of the previous study [S. Y. Reigh et al. J. Chem. Phys. 132, 164112 (2010)] within a weak field limit. The solutions of two approaches show qualitatively the same overall behavior including the power laws at long times.

  • Wind-induced vibration of buildings with viscoelastic dampers are studied analytically. The added viscoelastic dampers change the damping distribution and reduce the response of buildings. The distribution of damping resistance that results from these viscoelastic dampers is known as non-classical or non-proportional. Non-classically damped structures are analyzed by state-space approach. However, this approach is complex and time-consumming compared to classical approach. This paper is aimed at the analysis of wind-induced Vibration Of buildings With Viscoelastic dampers. The Process Of State-Space approach is studied and the approximate analysis is suggested to overcome the complex and time-consuming access. For numerical certification, PSDF(Power Spectral Density Function) is obtained. Autocorrelation function is obtained in time domain and PSDF is obtained by fourier transformation of this function in frequency domain. It is found that Approximate method can give close approximation to exact solution.

  • Radial Basis Function (RBF) networks is known as efficient method in classification problems and function approximation. The basis function of RBF networks is usual adopted normal distribution like the Gaussian function. The output of the Gaussian function has the maximum at the center and decrease as increase the distance from the center. For learning of neural network, the method treating the limited area of input space is sometimes more useful than the method treating the whole of input space. The q-normal distribution is the set of probability density function include the Gaussian function. In this paper, we introduce the RBF networks with the basis function of q-normal distribution and actually approximate a function using the RBF networks.

  • MR(Model Reduction) is presented in order to estimate the frequency of multiple sinusoids from the finite noisy data with the white or colored noises. MR, using the reduced rank models, is designed, appling the approximation of linear system to LP(Linear Prediction). The MR method is analyzed. Monte-carlo simulations are conducted for MR and Lp. The results are compared with in terms of mean, root-mean square and relative bias. MR eliminates effectevely the extremeous and exceptional poles appearing in LP and improves the accuracy of LP. Especially, MR gives promising results in short noisy measurements, low SNR's and colored noises. Power spectral density and angular frequency position are showed by figures, for examples. Finally, the new method is utilized to the communication and biomedical systems estimating the characteristics of the signal and the system identification modelling the dynamic systems from experimental data.

  • A jet injected normally into a cross flow has been found to have the cross section of a horseshoe shape. It occurs by a twin vortex motion in the region downstream of the jet injection. Such a flow is inherently and highly three-dimensional and numerical calculations should play an important role. The three-dimensional momentum equations with buoyancy effect and energy equation are solved to obtain the velocity distributions, center-line trajectories, cross sectional shape and entrainment. The density difference is sufficiently small, so that the Boussinesq approximation is considered to be valid. The SIMPLE algorithm is applied in a staggered grid system of a calculational domain for the numerical method.

  • We present a theoretical formalism by which the global and the local mass functions of dark matter substructures (dark subhalos) can be analytically estimated. The global subhalo mass function is defined to give the total number density of dark subhalos in the universe as a function of mass, while the local subhalo mass function counts only those sub halos included in one individual host halo. We develop our formalism by modifying the Press-Schechter theory to incorporate the followings: (i) the internal structure of dark halos; (ii) the correlations between the halos and the subhalos; (iii) the subhalo mass-loss effect driven by the tidal forces. We find that the resulting (cumulative) subhalo mass function is close to a power law with the slope of ${\~}$ -1, that the subhalos contribute approximately $10\%$ of the total mass, and that the tidal stripping effect changes the subhalo mass function self-similarly, all consistent with recent numerical detections.
