  • Cooling demand in Korea has increased constantly. Furthermore, an evaluation and savings of cooling demand has impacted on summer DSM and investment in Korea. Absorbed cooling system uses gas. It could achieve reductions in summer peak load and increase gas demand simultaneously. However its efficiency rate is lower than electric system. Gas cooling system uses separate meter. Therefore we could analyze monthly cooling demand and derive annual uses pattern. This paper analyzes demand pattern of gas cooling and its effects on electricity savings. Also this paper presents the course of policy in electricity sector on spreading of gas cooling measures.

  • Demand response is usually operated through using the power rates and incentives. Demand management based on power charges is the most rational and efficient demand management method, and such methods include rolling base charges with peak time, sliding scaling charges depending on time, sliding scaling charges depending on seasons, and nighttime power charges. Search for other methods to stimulate resources on demand by actively deriving the demand reaction of loads to increase the energy efficiency of loads. In this paper, ESS algorithm for saving energy based on predicting the amount of solar power generation that can be used for buildings with small loads not under electrical grid.

  • An order level inventory model is developed for deteriorating items. The demand during prescribed scheduling period is constant and deterministic in which the demand follows power pattern. Deterioration is assumed to be a constant fraction of the on hand inventory. The expression for the optimal order level is developed and an example is given to illustrate the model.

  • This study provides the phenomenon of distributional pattern of children's parks in Kwang-Joo city and shows the procedure of distributional changes. The demand of children's parks by Dong was estimated and a gap between present provision and demand was calculated with the aid of regression residuals by Dong. This research has produced the following major conclusions : 1. The distribution of children's parks shows minor relationship to urban variable, in terms of children's population (R=0.5402). 2. There is impressive evidence that children's parks delivery is highly responsive to laws and regulations of land development.

  • As the equipment of the military has recently become more sophisticated and expensive, the cost of purchasing spare parts is also steadily increasing. Therefore, demand forecast accuracy is also becoming an issue for the effective execution of the spare parts budget. This study predicts the demand by using the data of spare parts consumption of the KF-16C fighter which is being operated in the Republic of Korea Air Force. In this paper, SARIMA(Seasonal Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average) is applied to seasonal data after dividing the spare parts consumptions into seasonal data and non-seasonal data. Proposing new methods, Majority Voting and Hybrid Method, to the non-seasonal data which consists of spare parts of low consumption with unclear pattern, We want to prove that the demand forecast accuracy of spare parts improves.

  • The research developes short-run standardized control charts(SSCC) and short-run acceptance control charts(SACC) under the various demand patterns. The demand patterns considered in this paper are three types such as high-variety and repetitive low-volume pattern, extremely-high-variety and nonrepetitive low-volume pattern, and high-variety and extremely-low-volume pattern. The short-run standardized control charts developed by extending the long-run ${\bar{x}}$-R, ${\bar{x}}$-s and I-MR charts have strengths for practioners to understand and use easily. Moreover, the short-range acceptance control charts developed in the study can be efficiently used through combining the functions of the inspection and control chart. The weighting schemes such as Shewhart, moving average (MA) and exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) can be considered by the reliability of data sets. The two types according to the use of control chart are presented in the short-range standardized charts and acceptance control charts. Finally, process capability index(PCI) and process performance index(PPI) classified by the demand patterns are presented.

  • Printing technology is a very useful method in the several process of industrial fabrication due to noncontact and fast pattern generation. To make micro pattern, we investigate the electrostatic induced inkjet printer head for micro droplet generation and drop-on-demand jetting. In order to achieve the drop-on-demand micro droplet ejection by the electrostatic induced inkjet printer head, the pulsed DC voltage is supplied. In order to find optimal pulse conditions, we tested jetting performance for various bias and pulse voltages for drop-on-demand ejection. In this result, we have successful drop-on-demand operation and micro patterning. Therefore, our novel electrostatic induced inkjet head printing system will be applied industrial area comparing conventional printing technology.

  • It is very difficult to predict future demand/supply, price for resources with acceptable accuracy using regression analysis. We try to use system dynamics to forecast the demand/supply and price for nickel. Nickel is very expensive mineral resource used for stainless production or other industrial production like battery, alloy making. Recent nickel price trend showed non-linear pattern and we anticipated the system dynamic method will catch this non-linear pattern better than the regression analysis. Our model has been calibrated for the past 6 year quarterly data (2002-2007) and tested for next 5 year quarterly data(2008-2012). The results were acceptable and showed higher accuracy than the results obtained from the regression analysis. And we ran the simulations for scenarios made by possible future changes in demand or supply related variables. This simulations implied some meaningful price change patterns.

  • A variety of methods have been proposed through a number of studies on sophisticated demand forecasting models that can reduce logistics costs. These studies mainly determine the applicable demand forecasting model based on the pattern of demand quantity and try to judge the accuracy of the model through statistical verification. Demand patterns can be broadly divided into regularity and irregularity. A regular pattern means that the order is regular and the order quantity is constant. In this case, predicting demand mainly through regression model or time series model was used. However, this demand is called "intermittent demand" when irregular and fluctuating amount of order quantity is large, and there is a high possibility of error in demand prediction with existing regression model or time series model. For items that show intermittent demand, predicting demand is mainly done using Croston or HOLTS. In this study, we analyze the demand patterns of various items of air cargo with intermittent patterns and apply the most appropriate model to predict and verify the demand. In this process, intermittent optimal demand forecasting model of air cargo is proposed by analyzing the fit of various models of air cargo by item and region.

  • In this study firstly we survey the calculation method and the characteristics of the way of estimating CBL(Customer BaseLine Load) that is important calculation tool for DRP internationally. Also we analyze the power consumption pattern using the 15 minutes load profiles of about 120,000 customers in domestic. Based on this pattern, we provide the CBL calculation method that can be utilized in DRP to save the cost, and analyze the accuracy of the CBL calculation proposed in this paper through the simulation.
