  • Recently, BIM(Building Information Modeling),which has been an issue in construction work, has been focused on as a new alternative of building industry for way out of crisis by slowing down and decreasing of orders in construction industry. Research for introducing BIM to the architectural field is already proceeding actively at home and abroad. However, civil engineering is so nonrecurring, horizontal, and different from regular construction works that it a large amount of information occurs because of wide range of project, which causes construction firms and design engineers to have some questions whether their initial investment cost would work or not and feel uncomfortable with the cost. In this study, technology level in engineering firms were surveyed for adapting BIM to domestic civil engineering. Development direction of BIM standard information model was drawn through awareness change analysis of BIM in civil engineering, as well. Deduced development direction is composed of guide development, system development, deliverable check and international standard proposal. The outcome will be employed as preliminary data for the study on development of infrastructure BIM standard and deliverable check system in civil engineering.

  • Blockchain is being studied in various fields such as logistics, fintech, medical care, and the public sector. In the public information software project, some deliverables are omitted because the developed deliverables and the deliverables requested by the project management methodology do not match, and an additional process is required for payment. In this paper, we propose the deliverables management system for public information software project which is configured a distributed environment using the Ethereum blockchain and which has an automatic payment system only when all deliverables are approved. This system can keep the service available in case of system failure, provide transparency and traceability of deliverables management, and can reduce conflicts between the ordering company and the contractor through automatic payment. In this system, the information of deliverables is stored in the blockchain, and the deliverables that their file name is the hash value calculated by using the version information and the hash value of the previous version deliverable, are stored in the SFTP server. Experimental results show that the hash value of the deliverables registered by the contractor is correct, the file name of the deliverables stored in the SFTP server is the same as the hash value registered in the Ethereum blockchain, and the payment is made automatically to the Ethereum address of the contractor when all deliverables are approved.

  • The Internet is flourishing and the World Wide Web is growing at an exponential rate. A fundamental concept of Intranet, the so-called second wave, was introduced only a few years ago. Intranets have been embraced by corporate users of information services and made substantial inroads in strategic vision documents and procurement practices. Business organizations have come to the conclusion that they require an extensive data repository in order to acquire a competitive advantage in a dynamically change market. This rich assortment of data must further be delivered and deliverable enterprise-wide in a secure and cost-efficient manner. Information technology(IT) has created the Intranet as a vitally important mechanism for the storage, dissemination, and even the analysis data. The present study is an attempt to develop a more through understanding of the potential and actual impact of the Intranet on organizational functions and activities. Expecially, it also consists of an effort to assess the impact of the Intranet on communication. The research also addresses the issue of how the Intranet affects communication and shapes or modifies business activities. The results of literature review and study revealed that middle managers believe that the extent of the Intranet use is significantly related to improvements in overall organizational functions and activities. While communication, decision-making, productivity, work collaboration, and business activities are all enhanced by Intranet use, communication appears to be most dramatically improved by Intranet use.

  • The Rotterdam Rules introduces new issues that have been ignored by previous international transport conventions. Among them, provisions on delivery of goods have been a much debated topic as it deviate from well established principles. Rotterdam Rules provides several alternatives in order to resolve uncertainty regarding delivery practice. The carrier have to make a resonable effort to deliver the goods following the required procedure which is different from transport document issued. Where the goods are not deliverable, the carrier could discharge from its obligations to deliver the goods when he deliver the goods by delivery instruction of shipper. In addition, he can take actions reasonably required according to circumstances if it is impossible to deliver the goods. These alternatives are not ideal, but they seem to be partly helping to solve practical problems arising in the process of delivery. However the delivery regime under the Rotterdam Rules could cause confusion in the traditional delivery principle. On the other hand, it puts a new burden on the parties concerned. In conclusion, the parties concerned should consider practical implications in issuing and transferring transport document as well as requesting and instructing delivery of goods.

  • The objective of this paper is to examine whether it is feasible to introduce an crude oil futures contract on domestic commodity exchange in order to minimize the price risks of imported crude oil. In addition. this study suggests the policy issues to promote futures trading and the alternatives to use foreign energy compares the five criteria to evaluate the feasibility of crude oil futures trading on the domestic exchange. Related to the possibility of successful futures trading of imported crude oil on the domestic exchange, they are evaluated as follows: it is highly possible to succeed for the aspects of price volatility, potential market size or liquidity, and commodity homogeneity; but it is inappropriate for the aspects of deliverable amounts and market power or market structure. Therefore, it is concluded that trading a new futures contract for the underlying imported crude oil on the domestic exchange is inappropriate. For the policy issues and the hedging alternatives, first, it is urgent to establish an atmosphere for futures trading by promoting spot trading. Second, for the case of futures trading on the domestic exchange it is important to consider the simultaneous hedging of crude oil price and foreign exchange risks and mutual offsetting mechanism with major foreign exchanges. Third, for the case of futures trading on foreign exchanges it is reasonable to regard cooperation among concerned companies, government support for futures trading and direct participation into futures trading by the government.

  • E-business has received much attention from entrepreneurs, executives, investors, and industry observers recently. The Internet is flourishing and the World Wide Web is growing at an exponential rate In recent years, information has become the critical commodity needed for success in the changing global economic order. Accordingly, business organizations have come to the conclusion that they require an extensive data repository in order to acquire a competitive advantage in a dynamically change market. Information technology(IT) has created the E-business as a vitally important mechanism for the storage, dissemination, and even the analysis data. The E-business has become increasingly important to a growing number of organizations in Korea in relatively short order. The present study is an attempt to develop a more through understanding of the potential and actual impact of the E-business on organizational functions and activities. • This study aims to propose an evaluation model that enables cooperative learning using e-Learning system. Even if the teacher and the student are not in the same place at the same time, the team project deliverable submitted by the student to the online system can be viewed by the teacher, enabling the teacher to assess the student not only based on the project but also in many other aspects. The proposed e-learning cooperative learning model allows the development of assessment factors, using such factors in assessment of the student's activities which are performed through the e-learning system, and the feedback of the results to the student so that the student is further motivated for learning. The teacher performs a comprehensive assessment of such factors, which is considered in conjunction with the student's assessment. Implementing the cooperative learning model proposed in this study in various e-learning systems such as Moodle is expected to motivate the student for learning, produces better cooperative learning results, provides greater convenience of assessment to the teacher, and improves fairness of assessment by showing the student's activities in real time.

  • Recently, BIM has been widely applying in civil engineering projects centering on the private construction industry in order to establish self guidelines for spreading in practice. However, most BIM technologies and software are based on the architectural projects. In these environments, it is not easy to apply the BIM to a infrastructure field. Even BIM standards with IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) are also focusing on architectural projects. Especially, both private and public sectors do not know about how BIM delivery system should be performed, and how such deliverable should be submitted to the government yet. Thus, we need to analyze an application level of BIM S/W (Software) in real projects and verify their interoperability. Besides, since there are not any common standards that can exchange IFC models for civil engineering projects, we have many issues in converting as-built infrastructure models into IFC and delivering their design documents to the government. Accordingly, this study aims to perform a BIM process with commercial software for real road project after a detailed design process is finished and verify interoperability between diverse BIM software for securing BIM data reliability.
