Purpose: This study aimed to identify the associations between job stress, social support, and nursing professionalism among nurses taking postgraduate courses, and to explore the factors influencing their nursing professionalism. Methods: The participants were 121 nurses who were enrolled in graduate school master's or doctoral programs in Korea. Data were collected from June 30 to August 31, 2021, using an internet-based self-report questionnaire. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis using the IBM SPSS 23.0 program. Results: The mean scores of job stress, social support, and nursing professionalism among the participants were 2.47 out of 4, 4.06 out of 5, and 3.47 out of 5, respectively. There were statistically significant differences in nursing professionalism among the participants according to the degree program (F=-2.76, p=.007) and the length of nursing career (F=4.35, p=.015). Their nursing professionalism showed a positive correlation with social support (r=.45, p<.001) and a negative correlation with job stress (r=-.43, p<.001). As a result of the multiple regression analysis, factors influencing nursing professionalism of the participants were found to be job stress (β=-.28, p=.003), social support (β=.23, p=.015), and the length of nursing career (β=.19, p=.018). The explanatory power of the model was 28.0% (F=12.62, p<.001). Conclusion: The present study suggests that organized efforts are needed to alleviate job stress and to increase social support for nurses in postgraduate courses in order to ultimately improve their nursing professionalism.

This research was conducted to examine the effects of cognitive and emotional empathy amongst employees, and its contribution to the enhancement of the effectiveness of an organization. Further, 'job stress' was used as the moderating value. For this purpose, examination procedures were based on theoretical ground drawn from previous research papers, and an appropriate hypothesis established. Statistical methods were also employed to obtain empirical evidence. This study consisted of four variables. The independent variable is categorised into the factors of cognitive and emotional empathy. Job stress as the moderating value as well as job satisfaction and turnover intention as members of the dependent variable. A survey was carried out targeting employees of numerous firms working in teams, and a total of 324 samples were collected and processed by the software package SPSS 21 for windows as a means to verify the set study model and hypothesis. The results of the study are as follows: The two factor of cognitive and emotional empathy did not present with any significant effects. However, cognitive empathy in relation to job stress was found to inflict negative effects. The study also found the two factors to play a significant role in asserting positive effects on an individual's level of satisfaction on his/her job. While the study further explained that cognitive understanding had the tendency to impose negative effects on the turnover intention, emotional empathy did not demonstrate significant effects. Job related stress negatively effects the level of satisfaction of an individual's given task or a job and positive relation with turnover intention. It was confirmed that job stress had a degree of intermediary role upon other factors such as empathy, job satisfaction and turnover intention. The results of the study purported that empathy can raise the level of an individual's job satisfaction and kerb turnover intention. In order to accomplish depreciated levels of job related stress, it is vital that firms consistently input fervent endeavours to be subserved. It must be able to create an environment wherein employees may enjoy the improved structure of the company to empathies with each other. These transitions would allow firms to achieve maximum efficiency and improvements on the effectiveness of an organization.

The objective of this study was to examine the degree of job stress and drinking levels among emergency room nurses and to investigate the association between these variables. Data were collected using self-reported questionnaires completed by 106 nurses working in emergency room of hospitals from 3 different cities. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 program. The results showed that the mean job stress score was 45.93±6.81 points, while 18.9% of the subjects were in the disordered alcohol use group. Differences in drinking levels were found according to the work experience of the nurses (χ2=8.249, p=.041), while significant differences in job stress scores were found according to marital status (t=-2.72, p=.008) and desire to continue working (t=-2.272, p=.025). There was a significant correlation between job stress and drinking level (r=-.147, p= .000). Measures to lower job stress among emergency room nurses are need based on the findings in the study and it is expected that decreasing the drinking level of nurse would contribute to this.
This study was carried out to measure the degree of work-related stress and to identify factors influencing the excessive stress among clinical physical therapists. One thousand and five physical therapists surveyed nationwide met the established criteria for inclusion in the study. The respondents were an average age of 27.1 years, $34.5\%$ were married, and $61.2\%$ were female. Most of the respondent $(48.1\%)$ worked in local clinics. The average stress score was 50.9. Analysis-of-variance test demonstrated significant difference in the degree of stress among treatment facilities. There was a significant relationship between treatment facilities (general hospital, local hospital, clinic), number of patients treated per day, job satisfaction, low back pain and work-related stress, respectively. Work-related stress was unrelated to matters of sex, marital status, education. Hospital administrators, physical therapydirectors, directors, and individual therapists should work within their organizations to reduce work stress and its detrimental effects. Further research is necessary to investigate preventive measures to decrease the work-related stress.
In this study, nurses above the age of 20 years and working in General Hospitals located in the Gyeongbuk province were enrolled as participant. A survey was conducted to identify the relationship between types of health-eating, level of occupational stress, and degree of quality of life. An effective sample size of 120 was determined, and it was validated as a feasible count to perform the analysis by applying the PLS-SEM. We hypothesized that the physiological and psychological occupational stress levels vary according to functional, mental, and trendy types of health-eating lives and impact the degree of quality of life. This was evaluated using structural models, employing the bootstrapping method using the Smart PLS 3.0. Our results indicate that in the relationship between health-eating types and quality of life, the higher the functional health-eating type, the higher the quality of life. The association between job stress and quality of life showed that the higher the psychological work stress, the more negative the quality of life. Examining the association between the type of healthy eating and the quality of life revealed that the higher the functional health-eating type, the higher the quality of life. As a result of verifying the moderating effect of the difference in working period (less than 3 years/more than 3 years), it was found that the shorter the working period (less than 3 years), the higher the psychological stress.
The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of Yoga exercise as one way of the nursing intervention on stress and health status. This study was a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group pretest and posttest design. The study subjects were clinical nurses at K University hospital, in J city. Fifty one nurses were selected with 26 to a experimental group and 25 to a control group. The study data were collected from November, 2002 to January, 2003. During this period Yoga exercise was given to experimental group three times per week(one hour every time) for twelve weeks and no program was given to control group. The degree of general stress, job stress, health perception and health status was measured before and after experiment. The data were analyzed using SAS 8.1 program to obtain chi-square, paired, unpaired t-test. The results of this study are as follows. 1. After the experiment, the degree of general stress increased (t=-3.61, p=0.001) in experimental group, but in control group. There was significant difference between two groups (t=-2.10, p=0.041). However there was no significant difference in job stress between two groups and in each group (p=0.001), 2. After the experiment, the degree of health perception in experimental group increased (t=2.13, p=0.043) in control group. There was no significant difference between two groups. Health status in experimental group increased (t=3.14, 0.004) but in control group after the experiment. There was no significant difference between two groups. From the results, we are convinced that Yoga exercise is the nursing intervention that could decrease stress and promote health status in clinical nurses. Therefore Yoga exercise could be largely applied as one way of health care for nurses.
The aim of this survey is to investigate the occupational musculoskeletal disease and stress levels of restaurant cooks and to provide a basic data of programs in order to prevent occupational diseases. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 220 subjects in Gangwon province. The results show that there was no significant difference in the degree of occupational musculoskeletal disease between male cooks and female cooks. However, western cuisine cooks were more likely to have a higher degree of occupational musculoskeletal disease than other cuisine cooks and showed a higher degree of occupational stress from work overload as well as irregular meal stresses. Cooks aged from 30 to 40 years showed a higher level of occupational musculoskeletal disease in the neck, shoulder, and hand/wrist compared to those in other age groups. The job tenure was related to the degree of musculoskeletal disease in knee. Additionally, the hours of working per day were statistically significantly related to musculoskeletal disease in the knee and to the occupational stress levels in irregular meals stress. The findings of this study suggest that it is essential to design customized education for cooks to lessen their occupational musculoskeletal diseases and stresses in order to ensure the health and safety of the culinary workers.
