  • We have investigated the effects of electrical stress on poly-Si TFTs with different hydrogen passivation conditions. The amounts of threshod voltage shift of hydrogen passivated poly-Si TFTs are much larger than those of as-fabricated devices both under the gate only and the gate and drain bias stressing. Also, we have quantitatively analyzed the degradation phenomena by analytical method. We have suggested that the electron trapping in the gate dielectric is the dominant degradation mechanism in only gate bias stressed poly-Si TFT while the creation of defects in the channel region and $poly-Si/SiO_2$ interface is prevalent in gate and drain bias stressed device.

  • This paper examines the electrical properties according to a curing time and a corona degradation in epoxy composites which are used for transformers. To consider these phenomena, the electrets were formed by appling high voltages to five kinds of specimens designed according to a constant mixing rate and then TSC(Thermally Stimulated Current) values at the temperature range of -160-200[>$^{\circ}C$] were measured from a series of experiments. The behaviour of carrier and its possible origins in epoxy composites were studied. Various effects of curing time and electric field on epoxy composites were also investigated.

세라믹 메탈할라이드 램프의 아크튜브 열화현상 분석 (Analysis of Degradation Phenomena in Arc-Tube of Ceramic Metal Halide Lamp)

  • Recently, the demand of ceramic metal halide lamp has been expanded. Therefore, the lamp with high efficiency and long lifetime are increasing and the evaluation of reliability is needed. In this paper, the degradation phenomena of ceramic metal halide lamp was studied. The lamp was tested for 3000 on/off cycles with each cycle having a duration of 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off based on the accelerated aging experiment based on "Reliability Standards RS C 0085". As result, the corrosion of arc tube and leak was appeared from reaction between inner wall of PCA and chemical elements, and distortion of electrode was resulted from difference of thermal expansion between arc tube of PCA and electrode. Also, the efficiency of lamp was decreased by the change of inner pressure, operation temperature, and driving voltage from wall blackening.

고온가속노화시험을 이용한 추진제 KM10의 저장 수명 추정 (A study on the self-life estimation of the propellant KM10 by using high temperature acceleration aging tests)

  • 추진제 KM10은 NC(Nitrocellulose)를 주원료로 제조된 단기추진제로서 장기저장시 자연분해현상을 일으키는 것으로 알려져 있다. 저장수명추정은 잔류안정제 함량분석을 위해 일반적으로 이용되는 고온가속노화시험을 사용하였으며, 반응속도상수 산출을 위해 Arrhenius 식과 Berthelot 식을 사용하였다. 본 연구 결과에 따르면 Arrhenius 식과 Berthelot 식을 이용하여 추정한 추진제 KM10의 저장수명은 43.72년, 16.53년으로 큰 차이를 보였으며, E. R. Bixon의 연구결과[1]와 비교할 때 Arrhenius Equation을 이용하여 추정한 43.72년이 타당한 것으로 판단된다.

Effect of Setting Temperatures and Time on the Gelation Properties (Suwari and Modori Phenomena) of Surimi from Mechanically Deboned Chicken Meat

  • This study was carried out to investigate gel forming and degradation properties (suwari and modori phenomena) of chicken surimi from mechanically deboned chicken meat (MDCM) at various setting temperatures and time. Chicken surimi was manufactured by a continuous process including chopping of MDCM, washing with 5% NaCl solution or pure water, standing, straining and centrifuging etc. Total process of washing for the MDCM from chopping to centrifuging was repeated over 3 cycles. Gel from prepared surimi were formed at $90^{\circ}C$ for 30 min after various setting treatments. The textural properties of gels were measured at the temperature ranges of low (10$^{\circ}C$), medium (25$^{\circ}C$ and $30^{\circ}C$) and high (45 to 70$^{\circ}C$). The compressive force (CF), hardness and fracturability of surimi gel at 10$^{\circ}C$ increased as setting time increased, and showed the highest value at 30 h of setting time. The CF and hardness of chicken surimi gel at 25$^{\circ}C$ and 30$^{\circ}C$ showed the highest values at 10 h of setting time. Most of gel strengths including CF, and texture profile analysis (TPA) values showed the highest levels in the range 47.5 to 52.5$^{\circ}C$ (p<0.05). The gel strength at 60$^{\circ}C$ increased slightly at 30 min, but then continued to decrease with longer setting times. There was no increase of gel strength at $70^{\circ}C$, but only a continuous decrease over setting time. In conclusion, suwari (gel setting) and modori (gel degradation) phenomena occur during the gel formation of surimi from MDCM. The temperature range in chicken surimi was 47.5 to 52.5$^{\circ}C$ for suwari and 60 to 70$^{\circ}C$ for modori.

고구마 조직의 가열변화에 대한 반응속도론적 상수 결정 (Determination of Kinetic Parameters for Texture Changes of Sweet Potatoes during Heating)

  • 가열에 의한 품종별 고구마 조직의 변화에 대한 반응속도론적 상수를 biphasic model과 fractional conversion method를 사용하여 결정하였다. Biphasic model에 따라 고구마의 가열에 의한 조직의 변화는 2단계의 연속적인 1차 반응식으로 표시할 수 있었으며, 활성화에너지는 고구마의 품종에 따라 $71.0{\sim}75.1\;kJ/mol$$48.4{\sim}59.6\;kJ/mol$이었다. 또한 고구마의 가열에 의한 조직변화를 fractional conversion method를 사용하여 1개의 1차 반응식으로 표시할 수 있었는데, 이 때의 활성화에너지는 $67.5{\sim}75.3\;kJ/mol$로서 biphasic model에 의한 제 1단계의 반응에 대한 값과 유사한 값을 나타냈다. 이들 방법으로 결정된 반응속도론적 상수들 사이에는 kinetic compensation 효과가 있었으며, 두 방법 모두 고구마의 가열에 의한 조직변화에 대한 반응속도론적 상수들을 결정하는데 적용할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

도상자갈 비산에 의한 경량 대차프레임 적용 유리/에폭시 적층 복합재의 충격손상 및 충격 후 잔류압축강도 평가 (Evaluation of Impact Damage and Residual Compression Strength after Impact of Glass/Epoxy Laminate Composites for Lightweight Bogie Frame induced by Ballast-Flying Phenomena)

  • 허본 논문에서는 도상자갈 비산에 의한 GFRP 복합재 대차프레임의 구조안전성을 평가하기 위해 대차프레임의 스킨부를 구성하는 유리섬유/에폭시 적층 복합재의 충격시험과 충격 후 잔류압축시험을 수행하였다. 충격시험은 충격시험장비를 사용하여 5J, 10J, 그리고 20J의 충격에너지에 대해 수행하였고, 선로상의 도상자갈 비산을 모사하기 위해 구형, 육면체형, 그리고 원뿔형의 충격체를 설계하여 충격시험을 수행하였다. 충격손상을 갖는 적층 복합재의 잔류압축강도를 평가하기 위해 충격 후 압축시험을 수행하여 충격에 의한 재료의 물성저하 여부를 판단하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 충격에너지가 증가함에 따라 적층 복합재의 충격손상영역과 압축강도저하가 증가하는 것을 확인하였으며, 원뿔형 형상의 도상자갈이 다른 형상에 비해 재료의 손상을 가중시키는 것을 확인하였다.

불순물 입자의 유형에 따른 내접기어 펌프에서의 마모열화 특성 연구 (A Study on the Effects of Contaminant Types on the Wear Degradation Characteristics in Internal Gear Pumps)

  • The mechanical equipments which are exposed to impure environment undergo significant reductions in their own lifetimes. Several environmental test procedures have been developed to analyze these phenomena. Moreover in the industry to require shorter development duration, accelerated life testers artificially add test containments into machines. In this research JIS Z 8901 test powder was added into internal gear pumps which are used as oil pumps in vehicles and thus the effects of the addition on the degradation of the pumps were examined. Three kinds of contaminants were selected. Two of the contaminants are identical in particle size but different in the composition of the ingredients. The other pair have identical ingredients and composition but different particle size. The quantity of contaminants was also an interesting factor in this study. The results show that each JIS contaminant caused notable degradation in the discharge flow characteristic of pumps while friction torque degradation did not have any tendency. Finally leakage rates were deduced and equivalent wear volume ratios were calculated.

고분자연료전지 내 촉매 이동 및 노화메커니즘에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Electrode Catalyst Migration and Aging Mechanism of PEMFC)

  • We studied the degradation phenomenon of Pt catalyst in PEMFC. We used the electron microscope analysis technique including the ultra-microtome pretreatment method, FEG-SEM and TEM analysis methods for analysis of Pt nanoparticles. The Pt catalyst degradation is observed not only in electrode site but also in membrane site. We investigated these various degradation phenomena. The cathode electrode layer thickness is reduced. The size of the catalyst is increased much larger than initial size in membrane site. The catalyst moved from electrode layer to the electrolyte membrane. The rounded shape of catalyst was changed to the polygon. As a result, we found that the catalyst degradation processes of migration and coarsening occurred by the followings mechanisms; (1) dissolution of Pt ; (2) diffusion of Pt ion ; (3) Pt ion chemical reduction in membrane; (4) Coarsening of Pt particles (Ostwald ripening) ; (5) polygon shape change of Pt by {111} plane growth.

고속 광통신 시스템용 비대칭 분포귀환형 레이져 다이오드의 신뢰성에 관한 연구 (Reliablity of Distributed Feedback Laser Diodes for High-speed Optical Communication Systems)

  • As the demand of internet networks using backbone communication systems recently increased, the researches on the high-speed wideband optical communication systems are required. For high-speed optical communication systems, asymmetric sampled grating distributed feedback laser diodes (DFB-LDs) are developed and the reliability of DFB-LDs is examined. The reliability of DFB-LDs is performed by monitoring I-V and L-I characteristics and two degradation phenomena related to the electrical characteristics of LDs are observed during the life tests. The first degradation phenomenon by increasing the reverse current is considered as a formation of leakage current path enough to prevent lasing operation in lateral blocking layer near active region of lasers. The second degradation phenomenon by decreasing the forward current is considered as activation of non-radiative Auger recombination process by thermal energy and the second degradation phenomenon is recovered after the off-test period at room temperature Eventually, evaluating the reliability of DFB LDs can allow us to improved the manufacturability in high-volume manufacturing.
