The low profile Ionescu-Shiley pericardial xenograft valve had been initially introduced to have improved hemodynamic performance and expected superior durability, However, subsequent clinical reports and laboratory studies have repeatedly indicated early failure of the valve from mechanical reasons in valve design, A total and consecutive 169 patients underwent isolated MVR with the low profile Ionescu-Shiley valve at Seoul National University Hospital from November 1984 to October 1989 [Group ISLM]. Five patients [3.0%] died within 30 days of surgery, and early survivors were followed up for 734.9 patient-years [Mean$\pm$SD, 4.9$\pm$2.0 years], Late mortality rate was 0.136% /patient-year [pt-yr], Linearized incidences of major complications were: 0.953% embolism /pt-yr; 0.680% bleeding /pt-yr; 0.272% endocarditis /pt-yr; and 0, 408% primary tissue failure [PTF] /pt-yr, The actuarial survival was 99.4$\pm$0.6%, and probabilities of from thromboembolism and from PTF were 90.7$\pm$4.6% and 95.9$\pm$2.6% at 8 years, respectively These results were compared with the clinical data from the 291 patients of isolated MVR with the standard Ionescu-Shiley valve at the same hospital during the period between October 1978 and June 1983 [Group ISUM], Group ISUM included 11% of patients younger than 15 years of age, whereas Group ISLM did no patient of this age. The mean age at the time of surgery was significantly younger in Group ISUM than one in Group ISLM [P<0.001]. Differences were not statistically significant in operative mortality, mean follow-up period and linearized incidences of thromboembolism, bleeding and endocarditis, between two groups, However, the linearized rate of PTF was lower [P<0.001] and probabilities of freedom fro PTF higher [P<0.001] in Group ISLM at least up to postoperative 8 years. While the features of PTF of the standard valve was predominantly degeneration with calcification and stenosis, the ones of the low profile valve was cusp tear and incompetence. It remains, however, to be seen whether the low profile valve fails mostly from mechanical reason, and further follow-up will still be necessary to determine the differences in mode of PTF of two valves.
A total and consecutive 291 patients of isolated single mitral valve replacement using the Ionescu-Shiley bovine pericardial xenograft valve operated on between October 1978 and June 1983 were retrospectively studied for the durability of the substitute valves based on the structural degeneration of primary tissue failure which had been proved on their re-replacement surgery. The mean age at the initial surgery was 32.4*12.5 years, and the operative mortality rate was 5.2 %. The early survivors of 276 patients were followed up for a total 1148.3 patient-years[mean\ulcornerD, 4.16*2.57 years]at the follow-up end of June 1988. They experienced 4 major late complications: 1.045 % thromboembolism/patient-year [pt-yr]; 0.871 % bleeding/pt-yr; 0.610% endocarditis/pt-yr; and 3.309% overall valve failure/pt-yr or 1.655% primary tissue failure/pt-yr. The actuarial survival rates were 89.4*2.2% and 87.7*2.5% at 5 and 10 years after initial surgery respectively. The probabilities of freedom from thromboembolism were 95.1*1.6% and 93.2*2.0% at 5 and 10 years after surgery. Nineteen patients underwent re-replacement of the Ionescu-Shiley valve because of primary tissue failure, and there was no operative mortality. The incidence of primary tissue failure was highest for the patients less than 15 years of age occurring in 9 out of 27 patients [33.3 %] or 8.68 %/pt-yr, while it was 4.0 % or 0.96 %/pt-yr for the rest of patients older than this age. The probabilities of freedom from primary tissue failure were 96.7*1.4 % and 84.2*3.8% at 5 and 9 years after surgery. The freedom from tissue failure increased as the age limits of cumulative younger patients were increased while it decreased as the age limits of cumulative older patients were decreased. Although it is clear that the Ionescu-Shiley valve would degenerate prematurely in young patients, the definite age limit could not be identified when the risk of early failure was significantly high.
This study was conducted to elucidate the pathogenesis of Aujeszky's disease virus(ADV) by histopathologic examination. The first Korean ADV Isolate, which was isolated from piglets with clinical signs of Aujeszky's disease in Yangsan(YS) county, Kyungnam province, was inoculated into 32 days old piglets with a dose of $10^{5.9}$$TCID_{50}/ml$ through intranasal or intramuscular route. These piglets were sacrificed at intervals of every 24hrs for 8 days. The virulence of YS strain was determined by the observation of clinical signs, gross findings, and histopathologic changes in tissues. The virus recovery test was performed from brain, spleen, lung and tonsil in cell culture. The pathogenesis of YS strain was determined by the observation of histopathologlc lesions in CNS and neuronal tracts. The major clinical signs were fever, anorexia, dyspnea, constipation, tremor, ataxia, circling movement, hindleg paralysis and salivation. The clinical signs were more severe in piglets of the group inoculated intranasally than those of the intramuscularly inoculated gorup. Lymphocytopenia was detected on day 5 to day 6 postinoculation (PI). The ADV was recovered from the tissue homogenates of tonsil, lung, spleen and cerebrum in cell culture. The highest virus titer was detected from tonsil between day 6 and day 7 PI. Reddish sublobar consolidation foci were scattered in the apical and cardiac lobes of lung. Although yellowish necrotic foci were detected in tonsil and liver, hemorrhagic lesions were mainly observed in heart, kidney and lymph nodes. Histopathologically, degeneration and necrosis of nerve cells, nonsuppurative meningoe-ncephalitis, nodular gliosis and perivascular cuffings were observed in CNS. Multifocal fibronecrotic foci were observed in lung, liver, lymph nodes and spleen. The major pathologic changes were detected in the midbrain, pons and medulla oblongata. Eosinophilic intranuclear inclusion bodies were mainly observed in epithelia and /or macrophages of tonsil, liver, lung, spleen and submandibular lymph nodes, and neurons of brain, respectively. Observation of viral particles at various stages of replication were possible from the endothelial cells of the alveolar capillaries and tonsillar crypt epithelia by transmission electron microscope.
This study was designed to determine the effects of larval extracts from Protaetia brevitarsis seulensis shade dried larva from Korea and China on liver tissues of hepatic injury groups. The experimental groups are divided into five groups; Normal, carbon tetrachloride single injection ($CCl_4$), Pb-CHI ($CCl_4$ + P. brevitarsis shade dried larva from China), Pb-KOR ($CCl_4$ + P. brevitarsis shade dried larva from Korea) and SIL ($CCl_4$ + 0.35% silymarin) groups. Sprague Dawley rats were oral injected with $CCl_4$ at a dose l mg/kg (20% in corn oil) for induction of liver damage for 4 weeks. Each experimental group was fed with a dose 50 mg/kg of larval extracts based on medicinal preparations from 3 weeks to 4 weeks after $CCl_4$ treatment. At the end of 4 weeks, we evaluated the serum levels of glutamate-oxaloacetate transaminase (GOT), glutamate-pyruvate transferase (GPT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) in serum and the cytokine levels of tumor necrosis factor-${\alpha}$) (TNF-${\alpha}$) and transforming growth factor-${\beta}$ (TGF-${\beta}$) in the cells isolated from spleen and liver. The histological analysis was also conducted. The $CCl_4$ injection reduced body weight, induced congestion of middle lobe and hepatocytic degeneration, resulting in disintegration of hepatic cords, and increased biochemical markers of blood related to hepatic injury. On the other hand, the Pb-CHI and Pb-KOR group decreased the levels of biochemical markers in blood and cytokine levels in spleen and liver. Especially, the Pb-KOR group facilitated the recovery of biochemical values of blood related to hepatic injury, hepatic lesions and fibrosis. Taken together, larval extract from P. brevitarsis might prevent acute hepatotoxicity and enhance the recovery of liver fibrosis and cirrhosis induced by $CCl_4$, and the ingredients could be a promising candidate for the prevention and treatment of hepatic disorders.

Anti-diabetic activities of cultured mycelia from Ganoderma applanatum are being evaluated in this study. The OGTT and 4-weeks of repeated oral efficacy tests are conducted in mice at the doses of 0 (vehicle treatment), 25, 75 and 225 mg/kg/day, respectively. In human study, the test article was administered orally every day for 8-week at a dose of 1,500 mg/kg, tid and placebo group. The blood glucose levels (BGL) at 0.5 hour after treatment are significant decreased in all treatment groups of OGTT test. In the 4-week test, BGL of 75 and 225 mg/kg/day group is continuously decreased during all treatment periods and the BGL of 25 mg/kg/day group show decreasing trends at the final week, the pancreas weight of all treatment groups are being increased, and the Langerhans-islet numbers were increased at all treatment groups with a dose-response manner. There are no test article-related abnormal signs and the fasted blood glucose (FBG), postprandial blood glucose (PPG) and HbA1c are decreased significantly after 8-week treatments. These results that the cultured mycelia from Ganoderma applanatum could decrease BGL by protecting the degeneration of Langerhans islets.

In South Korea, as the living standard has been getting higher, meat consumption is steadily increasing. To meet the country's demand, livestock houses become larger and wider with increased raising density. In larger livestock houses, pollutants such as flake of pig skin, excrement, odor, various dusts and noxious gas like ammonia are excessively accumulated inside the facility. These will cause weak immunity for the pigs, diminution of productivity and degeneration of working condition. These problems can be solved through the ventilation performance of the facility. In the winter time, ventilation must be controlled to minimum to maintain a suitable thermal condition. However, this affects the other internal environmental condition because of the minimum ventilation. The installation of "wet air cleaner" especially in the winter time can be an alternative solution. For efficient application of this machine, there is a need to understand the existing ventilation condition and analyze the interaction of existing ventilation system with the wet air cleaner considering its appropriate location. In this study, the existing ventilation system as well as the internal environmental condition negatively inside the facility with the wet air cleaner has been studied using CFD technology. The CFD simulation model was validated from the study conducted by Seo et al. (2008). Results show that the elimination rate of ammonia was 39.4 % and stability could be improved to 35.1 % (Comparing case 5 to 1 where wet air cleaner machine was not used). It can therefore be concluded that case 5 shows the optimum location of a wet air cleaner in the livestock house.
The Polygoni Radix and Cynanchi Radix have been used to potentiate the liver functions in clinic of Oriental Medicine. The water extracts of Polygoni Radix and Cynanchi Radix were administered orally to rats intoxicated with carbon tetrachloride and then this experiment have been performed by observing liver fatty degeneration and activities of enzymes such as cytochrome oxidase (CYO), adenosine triphosphatase (ATP), acid phosphatase (ACP), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and alkaline phosphatase (ALP). By oral administration of water extracts of the radices between 1 and 10 days, the following results were obtained. 1. The group given Cynanchi Radix extract showed recovery of the fat liver in 4 days, whereas that given Polygoni Radix extract did the recovery in 8 days. 2. In cytochrome oxidase activity, the group given Cynanchi extract showed normal activity in 6 days, whereas that given Polygoni Radix extract did the activity in 8 days. 3. In adenosine triphosphatase activity, the groups given Cynanchi Radix and Polygoni Radix extracts showed normal activities in 2 and 8 days, respectively. 4. In acid phosphatase activity, the groups given Cynanchi Radix and Polygoni Radix extracts showed recovery of the activities in 2 and 4 days, respectively. 5. In lactate dehydrogenase activity, the group given Cynanchi Radix and Polygoni Radix extracts showed recovery of the activities in 6 and 10 days, respectively. 6. In alkaline phosphatase activity, the group given Cynanchi Radix extract showed normal activity in 2 days, whereas that given Polygoni Radix extract showed slight recovery between 4 and 6 days followed by decrease of the activity in 8 and 10 days. From the above-mentioned results, it was found that both of the water extracts of Polygoni and Cynanchi Radix possessed the recovery action of liver function as intoxicated with carbon tetrachloride in rats. It is also noted that the extract of Cynanchi Radix showed more potent activity than that of Polygoni Radix.
Purpose: Axillary osmidrosis is a distressing disorder characterized by unpleasant odor from axillary area and it is mainly associated with apocrine glands but also associated with eccrine glands. For surgical treatment of osmidrosis, recently ultrasound assisted liposuction(UAL) had been performed for many patients. According to the recent studies about ultrasound assisted liposuction for the treatment of osmidrosis, histologic studies about apocrine gland had been applied for 35 cases, but there were rare mention about eccrine gland and the relationship between two glands. The purpose of this article is to evaluate the effect of ultrasound assisted liposuction for the treatment of axillary osmidrosis on apocrine and eccrine glands. Methods: From January 2004 to January 2007, 35 patients underwent ultrasound assisted liposuction for the treatment of osmidrosis and 5 patients underwent histologic studies. Histologic examinations were performed before and after ultrasound assisted liposuction and each biopsy was performed in central axillary area. The volume ratio of both glands, presence of degeneration were examined. And in aspirates, distribution and density of both glands and their morphological changes were examined. Results: Preoperative biopsy results showed average volume ratio of apocrine glands to eccrine glands was 65 : 35. According to the postoperative biopsy results, the volume of apocrine glands in dermis were significantly reduced and glands were degenerated, but the volume of eccrine glands were slightly reduced and glands were mildly damaged. And the average volume ratio of two glands was 20 : 80. According to biopsy results of aspirates, the volume ratio of two glands was 85 : 15 and apocrine glands had significantly greater proportion. Conclusion: By comparison of each biopsy result, apocrine glands were more significantly reduced and degenerated than eccrine glands in all 5 cases. However, further studies with large sample sizes and close examinations are required.

For stability analysis of the lumbar spine, the hypothesis presented is that the disc has stress sensors driving feedback mechanism, which could react to the imposed loads by adjusting the contraction of the muscles. Fusion in the motion segment of the lumbar spinal column is believed to alter the stability of the spinal column. To identify this effect finite element (FE) models combined with optimization technique was applied and quantify the role of each muscle and reaction forces in the spinal column with respect to the fusion level. The musculoskeletal FE model was consisted with detailed whole lumbar spine, pelvis, sacrum, coccyx and simplified trunk model. Vertebral body and pelvis were modeled as a rigid body and the rib cage was constructed with rigid truss element for the computational efficiency. Spinal fusion model was applied to L3-L4, L4-L5, L5-S1 (single level) and L3-L5 (two levels) segments. Muscle architecture with 46 local muscles was used as acting directions. Minimization of the nucleus pressure deviation and annulus fiber average axial stress deviation was selected for cost function. As a result, spinal fusion produced reaction changes at each motion segment as well as contribution of each muscle. Longissimus thoracis and psoas major muscle showed dramatic changes for the cases of L5-S1 and L3-L5 level fusion. Muscle force change at each muscle also generated relatively high nucleus pressure not only at the adjacent level but at another level, which can explain disc degeneration pattern observed in clinical study.
The purpose of this study is to investigate industry-wise employment growth factors in rural areas. Regional economic vitalization is sensitive to internal and external interaction changes among various industrial and occupational sectors. Thus, rural regional economic vitalization requires a comprehensive approach in analyzing industry-dependent employment structures and growth factors in rural areas. However, research conducted thus far has mostly focused on agriculture and farmers. Considering the evidence that rural communities continue to be stagnant and 80% of the rural population is engaged in nonagricultural activities, it becomes necessary to review industry-specific employment change factors in rural areas. This study targeted 5 counties in Chungnam. The results revealed that agriculture, forestry, and fisheries occupied the foremost positions with regard to population employed and regional GRDP share. The influence of national growth on employment and business variation effects was as high as 98.1% and 78.6%, respectively, thus demonstrating the high likelihood of rural economy to be influenced by external factors. Growth in the public sector appeared to support employment structure. Moreover, wholesale and retail businesses, constituting 14.4% of employment in rural areas, showed a strong trend toward degeneration, to the extent that difficulties have been forecasted for the supply of goods and services essential for basic livelihood of the rural residents. The implications based on the above observations need to be considered for policy-making to ensure that industrial structure is modified on the basis of internal demand of the region, and support for small businesses is integrated in rural area development projects.

제 6 장 손해배상 및 기타사항
제 18 조 (손해배상)
당 사이트는 무료로 제공되는 서비스와 관련하여 회원에게 어떠한 손해가 발생하더라도 당 사이트가 고의 또는 과실로 인한 손해발생을 제외하고는 이에 대하여 책임을 부담하지 아니합니다.
제 19 조 (관할 법원)
서비스 이용으로 발생한 분쟁에 대해 소송이 제기되는 경우 민사 소송법상의 관할 법원에 제기합니다.

1. (시행일) 이 약관은 2016년 9월 5일부터 적용되며, 종전 약관은 본 약관으로 대체되며, 개정된 약관의 적용일 이전 가입자도 개정된 약관의 적용을 받습니다.
