비보강 조적조의 동적 거동 (Dynamic Response of Unreinforced Masonry Building)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라에서 저층 주거용 건물로 널리 사용되고 있는 2층 규모의 비보강조적조 의 1/3 축소 모델에 대한 진동대 실험을 수행한 것이다. 본 연구의 주목적은 내진설계가 이루어지지 않은 조적조 건물의 내진거동을 살펴보고, 실험적 자료를 확보하는데 있다. 실험대상구조물은 횡방향으로는 대칭이지만 종방향으로는 약간 비대칭이고, 비교적 강한 다이어프램을 나타내는 콘크리트 슬래브로 되어있다. 실험체에 대한 모의 지진하중은 가속도를 점차 증가시켜가면서 종방향으로 가력하였다. 실험에서 얻은 구조물의 동적 응답자료는 진동대의 입력지진과 연관지어서 분석하였다. 더욱이 성능기초설계를 위한 성능수준을 제시하였다. 실험결과 1층에서의 전단파괴가 지배적이고 상부층은 강체거동을 보여주었다. 또한 균열 발생후에도 상당한 강도와 변형능력을 보유하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

베이징지역 레스토랑 공간구성요소에 나타난 중국 전통성 표현 특성 연구 (The Characteristics of Chinese Traditionality Expression in View of Spatial Elements at Restaurants in Beijing Area)

  • The objectives of this study is to analyze the characteristics of Chinese traditionality expression at restaurants in Beijing area. 12 restaurants were selected and visited for the investigation research. The results were as follows. First, traditional reproduction was found mainly manifested through the reproduction of traditional ornaments, in particular, the facade and interior element ornaments. Second, Traditional transformation was mainly manifested in replacement material while changing the shape slightly, or to stretch or shorten prototype shape and other negative deformation methods which did not largely out of the scope of traditional reproduction. Third, Traditional reinterpretation was expressed by abstract, symbol or metaphor on designs, usually people can not directly recognize the traditional archetype. When compare with traditional reproduction or traditional transformation, traditional reinterpretation was relatively fewer, however, in this study the traditional reinterpretation and traditional transformation have same numerical result. Reinterpretation as a positive performance method of traditional modernized, it was encouraging the phenomenon, especially in the ceiling design. Chinese traditional cloud patterns have been three-dimensional and diversification of use. And in the wall design, traditional elements have been extremely simplistic or adopted a wide variety of traditional elements, it may be preferred in diversity. In addition, furniture was tinge traditional elements in modern form, lighting was added symbolize color or picture on the traditional lighting which shape was simplified to emphasize space's traditional. But the facade, sign board, floor, and window element seems the range of variation was not wild, promote more use the positive traditional reinterpretation method.

Free vibration analysis of FG nanoplate with poriferous imperfection in hygrothermal environment

  • This study aims at investigating the size-dependent free vibration of porous nanoplates when exposed to hygrothermal environment and rested on Kerr foundation. Based on the modified power-law model, material properties of porous functionally graded (FG) nanoplates are supposed to change continuously along the thickness direction. The generalized nonlocal strain gradient elasticity theory incorporating three scale factors (i.e. lower- and higher-order nonlocal parameters, strain gradient length scale parameter), is employed to expand the assumption of second shear deformation theory (SSDT) for considering the small size effect on plates. The governing equations are obtained based on Hamilton's principle and then the equations are solved using an analytical method. The elastic Kerr foundation, as a highly effected foundation type, is adopted to capture the foundation effects. Three different patterns of porosity (namely, even, uneven and logarithmic-uneven porosities) are also considered to fill some gaps of porosity impact. A comparative study is given by using various structural models to show the effect of material composition, porosity distribution, temperature and moisture differences, size dependency and elastic Kerr foundation on the size-dependent free vibration of porous nanoplates. Results show a significant change in higher-order frequencies due to small scale parameters, which could be due to the size effect mechanisms. Furthermore, Porosities inside of the material properties often present a stiffness softening effect on the vibration frequency of FG nanoplates.

액체와 투과형 편향법을 이용한 광학부품의 굴절률 분포 측정 (Determining the Refractive Index Distribution of an Optical Component Using Transmission Deflectometry with Liquids)

  • 액체 속에 담긴 시료를 투과형 편향법을 이용하여 3차원 형상을 측정하고 시료의 굴절률 분포를 측정하였다. 편향법은 면적이 비교적 크고 거울과 같이 산란이 거의 없는 물체의 3차원 측정을 하는데 유용하다. 편향법을 통해 얻은 왜곡 무늬로부터 위상과 기울기를 구하기 위해 위상이동법과 시간추적 위상펼침 (TPU:Temporal Phase Unwrapping) 방법을 이용하였고, 구한 기울기로부터 높이를 구하기 위해 최소자승법을 이용하였다. 굴절률 분포 측정을 위해 2개의 유체를 이용하였다. 전산기 시늉과 실험결과 액체를 이용한 투과형 편향법을 이용하여 시료내의 굴절률 분포를 측정 할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

교정용 천연 및 합성 고무 탄성재의 이완양태에 관한 연구 (RELAXATION OF ORTHODONTIC ELASTICS, ELASTOMERIC MODULES AND CHASMS)

  • The present study was performed to evaluate the relaxation patterns of rubber elastics, elastomeric modules and chains stored in the water bath. Initial loading profiles were established for extension of $100\%,\;200\%$ of their original length for elastomeric chains and of 21, 28, 35, 42, 49mm for rubber elastics and elastomeric modules. The tests were performed on materials stored in distilled water at $37^{\circ}C$ and extraoral elastics stored in dry state at room temperature, at 0 hour, 1 hour, 6 hours, 1 day, 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, and 4 weeks, respectively. The following results were drawn: 1. The relaxation of rubber elastics manifested no correlation with increments of the extension distances, but showed correlation with time lapse. Remaining forces of rubber elastics carne out $84.6-98.52\%$ after 1 day, $70.92-89.31\%$ after 3 weeks of period. 2. The relaxation of elastomers manifested no correlation with increments of the extension distances, however represented considerable relaxation with time lapse as rapid relaxation after 1 hour and then gradual relaxations with time lapse. Modules relaxed much more than chains. $60.58-67.05\%$ of remaining forces for chains and $37.77-65.17\%$ for modules after 1 hour were turned out, and $51.48-62.22\%$ for chains and $8.04-25.15\%$ for modules after 3 weeks as well. 3. Permanent deformation rates of rubber elastics could not be measured with present investigation, but elastomers underwent severe deformations. 4. $3-9\%$ of permanent deformations for chains, $3-10\%$ for modules at 0 hour were turned out, and $25-30\%$ for chains, $96-145\%$ for modules after 3 weeks as well.

  • To implement the insects' flapping flight for developing flapping MAVs(micro air vehicles), the unsteady flow characteristics of the insects' forward flight is investigated. In this paper, two-dimensional FSI(Fluid-Structure Interaction) simulations are conducted to examine realistic flow features of insects' flapping flight and to examine the flexibility effects of the insect's wing. The unsteady incompressible Navier-Stokes equations with an artificial compressibility method are implemented as the fluid module while the dynamic finite element equations using a direct integration method are employed as the solid module. In order to exchange physical information to each module, the common refinement method is employed as the data transfer method. Also, a simple and efficient dynamic grid deformation technique based on Delaunay graph mapping is used to deform computational grids. Compared to the earlier researches of two-dimensional rigid wing simulations, key physical phenomena and flow patterns such as vortex pairing and vortex staying can still be observed. For example, lift is mainly generated during downstroke motion by high effective angle of attack caused by translation and lagging motion. A large amount of thrust is generated abruptly at the end of upstroke motion. However, the quantitative aspect of flow field is somewhat different. A flexible wing generates more thrust but less lift than a rigid wing. This is because the net force acting on wing surface is split into two directions due to structural flexibility. As a consequence, thrust and propulsive efficiency was enhanced considerably compared to a rigid wing. From these numerical simulations, it is seen that the wing flexibility yields a significant impact on aerodynamic characteristics.

우리나라 주상절리에 대한 연구 전략 (Research Strategy on Columnar Joint in South Korea)

  • 주상절리에 관한 최근 연구를 살펴본 결과, 우리나라에 분포하는 주상절리를 이해하고, 활용하기 위한 연구 방향은 다음과 같다; 칼러네이드와 엔테블러춰의 기하학적 형태, 형성 메커니즘과 패턴의 변화, 수평단면과 내부 구조, 주상절리 상하부의 판상절리, 전분 혼합액의 건조실험, 절리 형성에 대한 수치 모델 및 컴퓨터 그래픽 활용, 화산암의 산출 상태에 따른 주상절리 형태와 크기, 모암의 암석학적 및 광물학적 연구. 이와 더불어 지표에 노출된 후의 변질, 풍화작용의 결과로 만들어진 너덜겅, 토르, 타포니 등과 같은 2차적인 경관에 대한 기재도 필요하다. 이 연구는 우리나라 주상절리와 신생대 용암류를 해석하는 중요한 역할을 할 것이다. 또한 연구 성과는 지질관광의 활성화와 지질학습장 측면에서 활용도가 높을 것이다.

Comparison of absorption based on the location of seam of cloth diaper

  • A necessity for infants, diapers are not only used over long durations, but are also in direct contact to the infants' skin, making the choice of diaper to be of utmost importance. Current interest in cloth diapers is rapidly increasing because of issues concerning the baby's health, green environment, and economy. However, previous researches on cloth diapers are limited to simply investigating the form and material of commercial cloth diapers. There are few in-depth researches for the optimal cloth diaper development. This is therefore a fundamental research for the development of optimized cloth diapers, and analyzes the difference in absorption depending on the placement of seam line (liner, darts, and I pattern), the locations of liquid spraying (1 cm and 8 cm ahead of the center), and the amount of liquid capacity (10 and 20 ml). Currently, the development of diaper patterns considers the crotch shape of the infants and the skin length deformation. As a result, in the case of the I-pattern, the horizontal seam line prevents water from spreading to the front and back, thus reducing the absorbed area. This result was more clearly visible when water was sprayed at the center. The effect of the seam line became more obvious when there was more water (20 ml); also, when water was sprayed at the center, more leakage was observed. Using the results of this research, implementation of horizontal seam is expected to prevent the upward spread of urine.

층간소음 대응형 경량합성바닥판에 대한 휨성능 평가 (Evaluation on Flexural Performance for Light-Weight Composite Floor with Sound Reduction System)

  • 층간소음에 대응할 수 있는 유닛모듈러 경량합성바닥 구조시스템을 제안하고, 이러한 바닥판에 대한 내력 및 거동을 실험연구를 통해 평가하고자 하는 것이 본 연구의 목표이다. 평데크와 철근트러스 데크를 활용하여 제안된 형상별로 각각 3개씩 총 9개의 경량합성바닥판 실험체를 제작하여 실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과, 실험체의 파괴 형태는 바닥판의 중앙부에서 처짐으로 인한 휨변형에 의해 지배되었으며 종국으로 바닥판 상부에 콘크리트 압괴가 발생하는 동일한 파괴양상을 나타내었다. 또한, 사용하중 상태에서는 구조적으로 안전하고, 사용성 측면에서도 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 이론적 공칭하중에 대한 실험 항복하중의 비는 0.86~1.27의 분포로 평균 1.04로 나타났으며, 분포도 측면에서 변동계수는 0.154로 나타나 비교적 잘 일치하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • This paper is concerned with the analysis on the surface expansion of AA 2024 and AA 1100 aluminum alloys in backward extrusion process. Due to heavy surface expansion appeared usually in the backward can extrusion process, the tribological conditions along the interface between the material and the punch land are very severe. In the present study, the surface expansion is analyzed especially under various process conditions. The main goal of this study is to investigate the influence of degree of reduction in height, geometries of punch nose, friction and hardening characteristics of different aluminum alloys on the material flow and thus on the surface expansion on the working material. Two different materials are selected for investigation as model materials and they are AA 2024 and AA 1100 aluminum alloys. The geometrical parameters employed in analysis include punch corner radius and punch nose angle. The geometry of punch follows basically the recommendation of ICFG and some variations of punch geometry are adopted to obtain quantitative information on the effect of geometrical parameters on material flow. Extensive simulation has been conducted by applying the rigid-plastic finite element method to the backward can extrusion process under different geometrical, material, and interface conditions. The simulation results are summarized in terms of surface expansion at different reduction in height, deformation patterns including pressure distributions along the interface between workpiece and punch, comparison of surface expansion between two model materials, geometrical and interfacial parametric effects on surface expansion, and load-stroke relationships.
