  • In this paper, we implemented a loom component to be placed in a window and a looms management system which is able to connect database and to process various queries. The implemented system has aggregate query p개cessing functions for the loom components existing in the selected area by the mouse and it also has high level query processing functions represented with chart and pivot table; it can be used as a decision support system. The proposed system can detect temporal or persistent problems of the looms. Therefore it can be used to raise the productivity and to reduce the cost in textile companies by coping with the situation properly.

  • The FMCW(Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave) radar possesses range-velocity ambiguity to identify the correct combination of beat frequencies for each target in the multi-target situation. It can lead to ghost targets and missing targets, and it can reduce the detection probability. In this pap er, we propose an effective identification algorithm for the correct pairs of beat frequencies and the signal processing hardware architecture to effectively support the algorithm. First, using the correlation of the detected up- and down-beat frequencies and Doppler frequencies, the possible combinations are determined. Then, final pairing algorithm is completed with the power spectrum density of the correlated up- and down-beat frequencies. The proposed hardware processor has the basic architecture consisting of beat-frequency registers, pairing table memory, and decision unit. This method will be useful to improve the radar detection probability and reduce the false alarm rate.

  • This paper deals with the development of a computer aided fixture planning system that automatically selects set-ups, set-up sequence and fixture design for prismatic parts. This study presents the hierarchical data structure for feature-based part model and the preprocessing procedure for the proposed system. The preprocessing procedure generates tools such as DDR(Degree of Dimensional Relationship), AMV(Admissible Misalignment Value) and the datum reference frame of each feature according to the proposed decision table. The proposed system is called AFIX(Automated FIXture planning system) which is implemented by using C language on the workstation. A case study for a cavity plate is presented to show the performance of the AFM.

한국 어패럴 머천다이저의 역할에 대한 연구 (The Role of Apparel Merchandisers’in Korea)

  • This study examined the role of apparel merchandisers’in Korea. Data were collected by interviewing 7 apparel merchandisers who had worked for major apparel manufacturers. The interviews were analyzed by use of chronologically sequenced events. Korean apparel merchandisers take part in planning and production of the merchandise, sales management, and promotion. Merchandisers’activities related to merchandise planning were as follows: analysis of fashion trend and market, concept evolvement, planning of assortment and volume assortment, time table set up, color pallette decision, fabrication, line adoption, pricing, line preview, production planning, and placing order of materials. Merchandisers’activities related to apparel production were planning and controlling production and consolidation. In sales, merchandisers analyze retail sales and control inventory by reorder or conducting markdown sale. In relation to promotion, apparel merchandisers monitor merchandise advertisement, and educate salesman.

  • This paper presents a robust fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control lot the actuator and sensor faults in the closed-loop systems affected by unknown inputs or disturbances. The fault diagnostic scheme is based on the residual set generation by using robust Parity space approach. Residual set is evaluated through the threshold test and then fault is isolated according to the decision logic table. Once the fault diagnosis module indicates which actuator or sensor is faulty, the fault magnitude is estimated by using the disturbance-decoupled optimal state estimation and a new additive control law is added to the nominal one to override the fault effect on the system. Simulation results show that the method has definite fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control ability against actuator and sensor faults.

  • 의사결정표는 의사결정의 표현 방식 중 하나로 상황에 따라 취하는 일련의 행동들을 표 형식으로 나타낸 것이다. 이러한 의사결정표는 기업의 정보 시스템 (Information System)과 같은 의사결정 기반 시스템 구축에 유용하게 쓰일 수 있다. 복잡한 업무를 위한 의사결정 프로세스를 의사결정표를 이용하여 나타냄으로써 복잡한 로직을 정확하게 표현할 수 있고, 이해하기 쉽기 때문에 사용자와 프로그래머간의 의사소통을 원활하게 하며 문서화 작업을 비교적 간단하게 한다. 그러나 복잡한 의사결정이 필요한 업무의 경우 하나의 의사결정표에 필요한 정보를 모두 나타내게 되면 의사결정 단계를 이해하기가 어려울 뿐만 아니라 오류의 발생률도 높아지게 된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 복잡한 의사결정을 돕기 위해 계층적인 의사결정표를 제안한다. 계층적 의사결정표는 여러 추상화 단계를 가진 의사결정표를 일관성 있게 표현함으로써 단계적으로 의사결정을 수행할 수 있게 하고, 이에 따라 의사결정에 대한 이해도를 높인다. 또한 기존의 의사결정표 지원 도구를 확장하여 계층적 의사결정표를 지원하는 도구를 개발함으로써 사용자의 편의성을 도모하였다.

Structural Dashboard Design for Monitoring Job Performance of Internet Web Security Diagnosis Team: An Empirical Study of an IT Security Service Provider

  • Company A's core competency is IT internet security services. The Web diagnosis team analyzes the vulnerability of customer's internet web servers and provides remedy reports. Traditionally, Company A management has utilized a simple table format report for resource planning. But these reports do not notify the timing of human resource commitment. So, upper management asked its team leader to organize a task team and design a visual dashboard for decision making with the help of outside professional. The Task team selected the web security diagnosis practice process as a pilot and designed a dashboard for performance evaluation. A structural design process was implemented during the heuristic working process. Some KPI (key performance indicators) for checking the productivity of internet web security vulnerability reporting are recommended with the calculation logics. This paper will contribute for security service management to plan and address KPI design policy, target process selection, and KPI calculation logics with actual sample data.

  • Using user monitoring techniques on web, marketing decision makers in cyber shopping malls can gather customer behavior data as well as sales transaction data and customer profiles. In this paper, we present a marketing rule extraction technique for customer behavior analysis in cyber shopping malls, The technique is an application of market basket analysis which is a representative data mining technique for extracting association rules. The market basket analysis technique is applied on a customer behavior log table, which provide association rules about web pages in a cyber shopping mall. The extracted association rules can be used for mall layout design, product packaging, web page link design, and product recommendation. A prototype cyber shopping mall with customer monitoring features and a customer behavior analysis algorithm is implemented using Java Web Server, Servlet, JDBC(Java Database Connectivity), and relational database on windows NT.

  • CELP 계열 보코더중 인터넷 폰 및 화상회의를 목적으로 개발된 G.723.1 보코더에서는 LPC를 LSP로 변환하기 위해 LPC 계수를 이용한 다항식을 구성한 다음 근을 검색하는 방법을 사용하고 있다. 근 검색시에는 256/pi의 범위 안에서 동일한 간격을 갖는 코사인 테이블을 구성하여 순차적으로 검색하게 된다. LSF의 근들은 포만트가 존재하는 대역에서 근들이 나타나게 되므로 유성음의 경우 저주파수 대역에서 무성음의 경우 고주파수 대역에서 많이 분포하게 된다. 하지만 G.723.1에서 사용하는 코사인 테이블은 음성신호의 특성을 고려하지 않고 균등한 간격을 갖는 값들을 사용함으로 음질을 저해할 수 있는 요소를 갖고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 음성의 특성을 고려한 코사인 테이블을 재구성함으로써 음질을 향상시킬 수 있었으며 주관적 음질평가인 MOS 시험결과 평균 1.8 정도의 음질향상을 가져올 수 있었다

Statistical Inferences on the Lognormal Hazard Function under Type I Censored Data

  • The hazard function is a non-negative function that measures the propensity of failure in the immediate furture, and is frequently used as a decision criterion, especially in replacement decisions. In this paper, we compute approximate confidence intervals for the lognormal hazard function under Type I censored data, and show how to choose the sample size needed to estimate a point on the hazard function with a specified degree of precision. Also we provide a table that can be used to compute the sample size.
