The Effect of the Designing and Applying the Level-Based Learing Materials by Assessment Standards on the Achievement Enhancement of Mathematics Course (평가기준 활용을 통한 수준별 학습자료 구안.적용이 수학과 학력 신장에 미치는 영향)

  • As a result of carrying out t-test against the learning activity that used the learning materials designed by level, significant disparity was found. Thus, it was found that hte effect of this learning activity became more visible with lapse of time. But the major cause by which there appeared small significant disparity as a result of testing is that the units of experiment were limited and that the period of using the learning materials was not long. In an analysis on the results of interest test, the experimental class also appeared to show the average score that was higher than that of the comparative class by 0.10 after converting a decimal point. The outcome of attitude test was that the experimental class showed a higher average score by 0.11, as a result of converting a decimal point, than that of the comparative class. So, a large number of students showed an improved reaction. But, there seemed some problems of the learning materials or the method of progressing the activity in changing under achievement students or students who avoided studying math. When the effect of the level-based learning activity was investigated, more than 80% of the experimental class’s students showed a positive reaction. Thus, it could be judged that students, who felt some burden at studying math, might be served more largely, not by teacher’s uniform instruction, but by an individual learning using the level-based learning materials that enabled them to do a systematic self-learning for themselves.

  • Based upon its variety and specialties, Korean food has the potential power to become globalized, and a national public relations strategy for global competitiveness. In this process, a proper organization of information about Korean foods should be given a priority. The purposes of this study are to analyze the classification status and case studies of Korean foods in Korean libraries, to understand how much Korean foods are represented in the classification scheme and what should be improved, and to suggest a modified expansion of DDC 22. In so doing, an attempt is made to provide some evidences of the revision of DDC 22 as well as useful practices of modified DDC 22 in Korean libraries.

  • The concept of a fraction as division is a core idea which serves as a axiom in the process of a extension of the natural number system to rational number system. Also, it has necessary position in elementary mathematics. Nevertheless, the timing and method of the introduction of this concept in Korean elementary math textbooks is not well established. In this thesis, I suggested a solution of a various topics which is related to this problem, that is, transforming improper fraction to mixed number, the usage of quotient as a term, explaining the algorithm of division of fraction, transforming fraction to decimal.

  • Although the research information resources on Internet are spread out on thousands of computers, it is not always easy to get them on the right time by the right manner. The purpose of this study is to use DDC(Dewey Decimal Classification) scheme in subject-based directory search engine for research information resourcees to aid retrieval on the Internet. For the design of classification code, this study followed 'systematic order' of DDC to arrange subjects from the general o the specific in a logical order, and for the design of classification dictionary, 'Relative Index' of DDC was used to bring together the various aspects of subjects.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the development and features of the abridged DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification), one of the main factors for DDC's success. For the study, a comparison table including the publication years and the physical features has been presented based on the general relationship between the full edited DDC and the abridged DDC. In addition, the contents and features have been analyzed from the first to the latest (14th) edition. Lastly, the time of introduction of four supplementary tables used in the abridged DDC and its development have been investigated.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the score data released by the Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation to find out the problems with the current scoring system provided by the College Scholastic Ability Test and to suggest improvement measures to solve these problems. Methods: We calculated the descriptive statistics of the standard scores using the frequency distribution table of the standard scores and identified the characteristics of the standard scores by expressing the distribution as a graph. Also, we developed an index to evaluate whether each stanine level was stably assigned and calculated the indexes for each area/subject by using the data on the number of examinees for each level. Results: We found that the relationship of conversion from raw scores to integerized standard scores is different depending on the size of the standard deviation of the raw scores, and identified the problem that the raw score information is not fairly reflected in the calculation of the percentile and level as the two raw scores are converted to one standard score. This problem can be solved by calculating the standard score to a decimal point. Conclusion: In this study, as a way to improve the quality of the scores of the current CSAT, the standard score and percentile decimal notation, the specific regulations of the standard score and stanine level calculation method, and the expansion of the open range of the scores were suggested.

  • This research analyzes the revised philosophy class in the 5th Edition of Korean Decimal Classification. It depends on the 1st Edition of KDC despite of the fact that contents and words were revised and changed, numbers for classification were moved, and indices were removed from the previous Edition of KDC. The object of the 5th Edition of KDC, metaphysics and eistemology are organized in the same sub-class(綱) through modifying, sex psychology, development psychology, physiognomy fortune judgment, applied psychology are expanded that its data are increasing in psychology, ethics, moral philosophy are modified.

A Research on Close Classification for Korean Fiction in KDC: Focusing on Public Library (한국십진분류법(KDC) 한국소설항목의 세분방안에 대한 연구 - 공공도서관을 중심으로 -)

  • Of the collection of public libraries in Korea, the literature collection is the largest, and Korean fictions, about 14% of the entire collection constitute the largest single subject. However, in the Korean Decimal Classification(KDC) Korean fiction is represented in one section, that is, 813 which corresponds to the only one of thousand divisions. More specifically, only two sub-sections, 813.6 and 813.7 are supposed to be assigned to the huge collection of modern Korean fiction, and, in reality, only 813.6 is being used in most libraries. Even with the use of book numbers, such disproportionate allocation of classification numbers would definitely lower the discriminative capacity of call numbers given to each item. It would also bring about difficulties in both shelving, on the libraries' side, and finding items from shelf, on the users' side. This study aims to examine the issues related to classifying Korean fictions in public libraries, including the composition of KDC schedules and the actual practice of classification, and then proposes the measures for improving the classification of Korean fictions.

A Critical Analysis on Definitions of Biyoul and Value of Bi in Elementary Mathematics in Korea (우리나라 초등학교 수학에서의 비율 정의와 비의 값 정의의 비판적 분석)

  • In this paper, definitions of biyoul and value of bi in elementary mathematics in Korea are critically analysed. And identity of halpunri is reviewed. Regarding biyoul, it is suggested that the use of term 'biyoul' is restricted to such cases when the quantity to be compared and the quantity to be a base have same measuring unit, without consider ing biyoul in terms of two numbers. it is suggested to use "the number which express how many times the quantity to be compared is contained by the quantity to be a base is called biyoul." as a definition of biyoul. It is suggested to use "value of bi A : B is A/B" as a definition of value of bi. Halpunri is a variation of halbunri, which is coined by putting hal, pun, and ri together in purpose of using in school mathematics. The tem1 corresponding halpunri is 'bohap', however, in this paper it is suggested to use halpunri after defining it instead of using bohap. In that halpunri is an acclimatized term of bohap, and considered as a biyoul not as a way to indicate biyoul, it is suggested to use "biyoul when the quantity to be a base is considered 10." as a definition of halpunri. It is suggested to see hal, pun, and ri are units for halpunri, and call decimal 0.1 expressing biyoul 1 hal, decimal 0.01 expressing biyoul 1 pun, decimal 0.001 expressing biyoul 1 ri respectively.

  • 본 연구는 주요 십진분류표(DDC, KDC, NDC)에서 적용하고 있는 보조표의 기능을 분석적으로 규명하는데 그 목적이 있다. 따라서 동일 시스템을 적용하고 있는 DDC, KDC, NDC의 보조표를 분석하고 여기에서 추론된 보조표의 기능을 KDC에 적용시켜보고자 시도된 연구이다. 특히 KDC 5판을 준비하는데 사전 자료적 성격으로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
