Interface between Geometric Kernel and Database for a Ship CAD which has a STEP Database as the Native Storage (STEP 데이터베이스를 Native Storage로 가지는 3차원 선체 CAD에서 형상 모델링 커널과 데이터베이스간의 인터페이스)

  • It is difficult to support collaborative design with a conventional ship CAD system which manages design information using files. In this research, file storage has been replaced with a database. This paper describes the OpenDIS which is an interface between the geometric kernel and the database. Its main purpose is to implement the CAD system which has the STEP database as the native storage. A prototype CAD system has been implemented using that OpenDIS interface which is implemented by OpenCascade geometric kernel and the Objectstore object-oriented database. The STEP methodology is used as the database schema. This CAD system has been applied to the hull design of a ship in order to verify the usefulness of the interface.

  • For the electric power system operation, the information to monitor the operation status of power plants and transmission lines is very important factor in the view point of system security and economic operation. This paper presents the logical and physical structures of database used by KEPCO's EMS. The adopted DataBase Management System (DBMS) of a relational model type offers many advantages such as easy maintenance of database. In addition, this paper briefly introduces the data exchange system between application programs and database.

  • Workflow management system provides automation of job processes by maintaining shareability on information about various job process schedules and persons related to those schedules. Existing workflow management systems use file or database to store the information generated in those systems. However, file or database system could manage only non-complicated information for the workflow but not the information resources of an enterprise which is complicated and of various formats. Therefore, we need a data management system that could control those information resources. This system should manage the data which are distributed at several places geographically. Information Repository could meet those requirements. Information Repository may integrate, store and manage information resources requested by application systems. We have an international standard for the information repository, Information Resources Dictionary System(IRDS). The IRDS, however, does not support distributed environment. In this paper, we design and implement an information repository based on IRDS that may be operated in distributed environment. We verify that this information repository is more effective and is more effective than any other file or database system.

  • The user information stored in database have been leaked frequently. To protect information against malevolent manager on the inside or outside aggressor, it is one of the most efficient way to encrypt information and store to database. It is better to destruct information than not to use encrypted information stored in database. The encrypted database search system is developed variously, and used widely in many fields. In this paper, we implemented the scheme that can search encrypted document without exposing user's information to the untrusted server in mobile device. We compared and analyzed the result embodied with DES, AES, and ARIA based on symmetric key by searching time.

  • 최근 상황정보 관리의 범위가 단일 도메인에서 다중 도메인으로 확장되면서 사용자의 상황정보는 사용자가 위치하고 있는 도메인뿐만 아니라 여러 도메인에 연관되게 되고 그로 인해 제공될 수 있는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 서비스가 점점 다양해졌다. 다중도메인 환경에서 같은 종류의 상황정보는 다수의 로컬 상황정보 관리자에 의해 제공될 수 있기 때문에, 해당 상황정보에 대한 적합한 로컬 상황정보 관리자가 글로벌 상황정보관리자에 의해 선택되어야 한다. 본 논문에서 우리는 하나의 글로벌 상황정보 관리자와 여러개의 로컬 상황정보 관리자로 구성된 연합 구조를 제안하고, 연합 상황정보 처리를 위해 상황정보 제공자 선택 문제에 대해 논하고 선택 방법을 제안한다. 또한 연합 상황정보 관리에서 어떻게 이 선택 방법이 상황추론의 결과를 향상시키는지 보여준다.

  • Cut Slope Management System(CSMS) is a systematic maintenance and management system designed to prevent the collapse of cut slopes located along national roads and to minimize damages caused by slope collapse related accidents. In order to implement a maintenance and management system that will ensure safe road operation, the Korean government has started the inventory of cut slopes and developed a cut slope database since 2006. The study on the application of cut slope database is on-going and part of this study is the development of cut slope database management system (Slope-navi) using GIS technology and navigation system for the effective and efficient cut slope management using Information Technology. Using the Navigation Cut Slope Data Management System the previously developed database was checked and verified. The converted cut slope inventory data and field investigation reports of about 20,000 cut slopes were loaded in the navigation map. Through the development of the navigation's cut slope data search system, a systematic and efficient cut slope database management and operation in the prevention of slope collapse and remedial measure selection was established.

  • Purpose: As Koryo Hand Therapy is generally referenced by a manual, we made a database system to ease. Method: Using the basic theory of Koryo Hand Therapy with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), we tested, analyzed, designed and implemented the system and constructed a database system with MS Access according to the symptoms. Results: We constructed the database system of Handing and the symptoms of Koryo Hand Therapy in 3 parts (Basic Data Management, Disorder Therapy Management, Report) for easy management. This database system will be useful for general users to protect, promote and measure their health. The structured database system was valued on the basis of the students basic knowledge of Koryo Hand Therapy. As a result, 80% of the respondents answered that the "system is well structured", 78% that "it's convenient to search", and 87% that "it's helpful for self health management". Conclusion: These study results provides people with information on the basic treatment of symptoms for the self health protection and promotion with Koryo Hand Therapy by constructing a database.

  • A primary concern of physical database design has been efficient retrieval and update of a record because predictable performance of a DBMS is indispensable to time-critical missions. To maintain such phenomenal performance, database manages often spends more than or as much as the goal of an organization can warrant. The motivation of this research stems from the fact that even predictable performance of a physical database can be hampered by stochastic query processing time, physical configurations of a database, and random arrival processes of queries. They all together affect the overall performance of a DBMS. In particular, if there are queuing delays due to limited capacity or during on-peak congestion, this paper suggest to prioritize database services. A surprising finding of this paper is that such a transition from a non-priority system to a corresponding priority-based system can be Pareto-improving in the sense that no users in the system will be worse off after the transition. Thus prioritizing database services can be a viable option for efficient database management.

  • Recently, Graph Database (GDB) is being used in wide range of industrial fields. GDB is a database system which adopts graph structure for storing the information. GDB handles the information in the form of a graph which consists of vertices and edges. In contrast to the relational database system which requires pre-defined table schema, GDB doesn't need a pre-defined structure for storing data, allowing a very flexible way of thinking about and using the data. With GDB, we can handle a large volume of heavily interconnected data. A network service provider provides its services based on the heavily interconnected communication network facilities. In many cases, their information is hosted in relational database, where it is not easy to process a query that requires recursive graph traversal operation. In this study, we suggest a way to store an example set of interconnected network facilities in GDB, then show how to graph-query them efficiently.

  • Bibliographic information-based MARC format is using in 66 countries, and it has been keeping the position of acknowledged information system in many national libraries. But the development of exchange format about integrated database to run integration the factual information and bibliographic information integrative is necessary. Actually factual information and bibliographic information are required frequently in the library. This paper was to extract the element field of factual information that will be expanded at the libraries, and to make the basic data of integrated database-based interactive format through comparative analysis of varied record format to be used around the world.
