In this study, we analyzed the erosion variation of beach area at Haeundae Beach after coastal improvement project using video monitoring system operated by the Coastal Erosion Monitoring (Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries). Haeundae Beach was well maintained and stabilized following large scale nourishment through coastal improvement project despite of seasonal fluctuations. However, multiple typhoons over the last two years caused beach stabilization patterns and seasonal fluctuations to lost equilibrium, resulting in rapid erosion. In particular, the sandy beach was eroded by typhoon Solic and Kongray in 2018 and failed to recover beach area in winter by seasonal fluctuations. And due to multiple typhoons in 2019, the beach area was reduced 9.5 % (12,607 ㎡) year-on-year. According to analyze the observed wave and beach area data in Haeundae, the tendency of erosion and sedimentation was influenced by seasonal incident wave direction for each section(west, center and east part). Therefore, to identify the causes of decreasing seasonal fluctuation characteristics and continuous erosion, hereafter, more precise monitoring of different factors are needed, such as the crest heights of submerged breakwater and its loss of function, and sand leakage to the outside around submerged breakwater.
In order to recover valuable metals from the waste electronic scrap, bioleaching of Cu, Zn, Al, Co, Ni, Sn and Pb was carried out using Thiobacillus ferrooxidans as a leaching microorganism in a shaking flask. In a preliminary study, to obtain the data on the leaching of Cu, Zn, Al, Co and Ni, the metal leaching was accomplished using metal powers instead of electronic scrap. The leaching percentaga of Cu, Zn, Co, Al and Ni powers was reduced with the increase of metal power concentration in solution. Below the metal concentration of 0.5 g/L, more than 85% of Cu, Co and Zn powers was leached out. At the electronic scrap concentration of 100 g/L, Thiobacillus ferrooxidans were able to leach more than 90% of the available Cu and Co while Al, Zn and Ni were able to leach less than 40%. Pb and Sn were not detected in the leachate. Pb was precipitated as PbSO$_4$, whereas Sn precipitated probably as SnO.
In this study, a talc flotation was fundamentally carried out with dolomite origin talc ore produced in Dong Yang Talc Mine at Chung-Ju. This ores are mainly composed with talc as a valuable mineral, dolomite as a gangue mineral and other minor minerals of hornblende, tremolite, actinolite, chlorite, calcite, epidote and iron oxide. In order to obtain some of fundamental data for the talc flotation from low grade dolomitic talc tailings which were abandoned -25mm +17 mm size, after the treatment of crude talc ores by screening and hand -picking at the mine, flotation characteristics of the pure talc and dolomite in this ores were first investigated by measuring floatability of the minerals at some experiment conditions. Furthermore, Several times of batch flotations for talc were performed experimentally to recover talc from the low grade dolomitic talc tailings. From the results obtained in this experiment, the conclusions can be summarized as follows ; 1) In the flotation of pure talc, the use of Dowfroth 250 as frother was the most effective in various kinds of frother and the proper addition amount was about 50 mg/${\ulcorner}$(200g/t) at the condition of this experiment. 2) In the flotation of pure talc, the use of kerosene as collector was not adequate, at the addition over 50mg/l of Dowfroth 250. 3) The adequate pH of pulp ranged from pH6 to pH9 in the talc flotation using Dowfroth 250 as frother. 4) The use of Quebracho as depressant for dolomite was not adequate for the recovery of talc, and more selective depressant was required. 5) In the talc flotation on D sample(dolomitic talc tailing), the suitable number of cleaning time was about 3. 6) At this experimental conditions for the talc flotation on D sample, the talc flotation concentrates of 1. 40% CaO and 84.5 whiteness could be recovered with the talc recovery of about 53%.

Total number of recorded earthquakes in Korea is more than 2,000 of which 48 were catastrophic. The impacts from infrastructure damage due to an earthquake to production facilities and lifelines may spread across boundaries of several regions via import-export relationships and can bring serious economic impact to other regions. The economic impacts from unscheduled events stem not only from the damage and direct losses, but also from the indirect losses during the recovery and reconstruction periods. To recover and reconstruct the facilities and lifelines damaged by unexpected events through investment or government financial aid, both the direct and the indirect economic impacts from an event need to be measured in regional and interregional contexts. Direct economic impact is the direct change of production and demand due to the disruption of production facilities and lifelines from an unexpected event, and indirect economic impact is the change in other sectors due to inter-industry relationships. The purpose of the paper is to analyze various economic impacts of an earthquake, especially impacts on transportation networks in Korea. We collected spatial and economic data from Korea, and analyzed and estimated final demand loss and commodity flows from the unscheduled event.

The purpose of this study was to develop the empowerment scale instrument and to investigate the perception and needs regarding to the empowerment as home economics(HE) teacher. Respondents in this study were 234 HE teachers. questionnaires were collected by e-mail in the integrating online computer system. SPSS(Statistical Package for the Social Science) 10.0 package and AMOS 6.0 were used to analyze the data. Factor analysis and reliability analysis were used to develop the empowerment scale instrument. Means and Borich requirement analysis were used to describe the perception and needs regarding to the empowerment as HE teacher. The outcome and conclusion of this study after going through the above process were as follows. When classifying the empowerment in 6 factors of class operation capability, influence, specialization, ethics, belief and self-regulation, the HE teachers recognized the ethics and self-regulation as high in the current empowerment, and had high demand on influence and class operation capability in the future empowerment. In other words, influence was to heighten the status and influence in HE education by participating in various local community activities, and the class operation capability was the capability to manage the class for bring out the interests of students, that these requirements could be considered as the expression of desire to recover the price for HE teachers as the professionals before students without the negative social recognition on the HE education. In the same context, most of the HE teachers recognized the execution of the education process as the situational practitioners, and for practicing better HE education at the actual classroom situation.
Zona pellucida (ZP), a primarily representative coat of mammalian egg and embryo, has an extremely heterogeneous morphology during different developmental stages. The objective of the present study was to compare the morphological changes of the ZP surface of immature, in vitro and in vivo matured canine oocytes by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Canine ovaries were collected from local veterinary hospitals to recover immature oocytes. The ovaries were sliced and the released cumulus oocyte complexes (COCs) were washed with TL-HEPES. The selected COCs were randomly divided into two groups, first group was processed immediately at immature state and the second group was processed 72 h after in vitro maturation, and compared with in vivo derived oocytes. Oocytes were fixed, critical point dried and examined under SEM. The diameters of oocyte and outer holes of the ZP were measured on a total of 249 oocytes; the results were analyzed using One-way ANOVA. Our results showed that, the diameter of immature oocytes significantly differed (p < 0.05) from that of in vivo matured oocytes ($79.60{\pm}0.77{\mu}m$ vs. $101.46{\pm}1.07{\mu}m$, respectively). Similarly, a significant difference (p < 0.05) in the diameters between those of in vitro and in vivo matured oocytes were found ($79.51{\pm}2.36{\mu}m$ vs. $101.46{\pm}1.07{\mu}m$, respectively). Moreover, the diameters of the outer holes of the ZP were significantly (p < 0.05) larger in in vivo matured ($1.48{\pm}0.42{\mu}m$) than in vitro matured for 72 and immature oocytes ($1.10{\pm}0.16$ and $0.43{\pm}0.12{\mu}m$, respectively). Taken together, these data indicates that the ZP surface is related to oocyte maturity in canine.

The purpose of this study is to recover valuable metals from spent batteries using a dry process. We focused on the effect of the smelting temperature on the composition of recovered solid and liquid products and collected gaseous products. After removal of the cover, the spent battery was left in NaCl solution and discharged. Then, the spent battery was made into a powder form through a crushing process. The smelting of the spent battery was performed in a tubular electric furnace in an oxygen atmosphere. For spent lithium-ion batteries, the recovery yield of the solid product was 80.1 wt% at a reaction temperature of 850 ℃, and the final product had 27.2 wt% of cobalt as well as other metals such as lithium, copper, and aluminum. Spent nickel-hydrogen batteries had a recovery yield of 99.2 wt% at a reaction temperature of 850 ℃ with about 37.6 wt% of nickel and other metals including iron. For spent nickel-cadmium batteries, the yield decreased to 65.4 wt% because of evaporation with increasing temperature. At 1050 ℃, the recovered metals were nickel (41 wt%) and cadmium (12.9 wt%). Benzene and toluene, which were not detected with the other secondary waste batteries, were detected in the gaseous product. The results of this study can be used as basic data for future research on the dry recycling process of spent secondary batteries.

The NTRU cryptosystem proposed by Hoffstein et al. in 1990s is a public key cryptosystem based on hard lattice problems. NTRU has many advantages compared to other public key cryptosystems such as RSA and elliptic curve cryptosystems. For example, it guarantees high speed encryption and decryption with the same level of security, and there is no known quantum computing algorithm for speeding up attacks against NTRD. In this paper, we analyze the security of NTRU against the simple power analysis (SPA) attack and the statistical power analysis (STPA) attack such as the correlation power analysis (CPA) attack First, we implement NTRU operations using NesC on a Telos mote, and we show how to apply CPA to recover a private key from collected power traces. We also suggest countermeasures against these attacks. In order to prevent SPA, we propose to use a nonzero value to initialize the array which will store the result of a convolution operation. On the other hand, in order to prevent STPA, we propose two techniques to randomize power traces related to the same input. The first one is random ordering of the computation sequences in a convolution operation and the other is data randomization in convolution operation.

An underwater positioning method that can be applied to structures for underwater construction is being developed at the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology. The method uses an extended Kalman filter (EKF) based on an inertial navigation system for precise and continuous position estimation. The observation matrix was configured to be variable in order to apply asynchronous measured sensor data in the correction step of the EKF. A Doppler velocity logger (DVL) can acquire signals only when attached to the bottom of an underwater structure, and it is difficult to install and recover. Therefore, a complex sensor device for underwater structure attachment was developed without a DVL in consideration of an underwater construction environment, installation location, system operation convenience, etc.. Its performance was verified through a water tank test. The results are the measured underwater position using an ultra-short baseline, the estimated position using only a position vector, and the estimated position using position/velocity vectors. The results were compared and evaluated using the circular error probability (CEP). As a result, the CEP of the USBL alone was 0.02 m, the CEP of the position estimation with only the position vector corrected was 3.76 m, and the CEP of the position estimation with the position and velocity vectors corrected was 0.06 m. Through this research, it was confirmed that stable underwater positioning can be carried out using asynchronous sensors without a DVL.

In recent years, human damage and loss of money due to various disasters such as typhoons, earthquakes, forest fires, landslides, and wars are steadily occurring, and a lot of manpower and funds are required to prevent and recover them. In this paper, we designed and developed a disaster drone system based on artificial intelligence in order to monitor these various disaster situations in advance and to quickly recognize and respond to disaster occurrence. In this study, multiple disaster drones are used in areas where it is difficult for humans to monitor, and each drone performs an efficient search with an optimal path by applying a deep learning-based optimal path algorithm. In addition, in order to solve the problem of insufficient battery capacity, which is a fundamental problem of drones, the optimal route of each drone is determined using Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) technology. In order to implement the proposed system, it was applied to a forest fire situation among various disaster situations, and a forest fire map was created based on the transmitted data, and a forest fire map was visually shown to the fire fighters dispatched by a drone equipped with a beam projector. In the proposed system, multiple drones can detect a disaster situation in a short time by simultaneously performing optimal path search and object recognition. Based on this research, it can be used to build disaster drone infrastructure, search for victims (sea, mountain, jungle), self-extinguishing fire using drones, and security drones.
