IoT 환경에서 서버 대역폭과 네트워크 트래픽을 고려한 스무딩 알고리즘 (Smoothing Algorithm Considering Server Bandwidth and Network Traffic in IoT Environments)

  • 스무딩은 가변 비트율로 저장된 비디오 데이터를 고정 비트율로 변환하는 전송 계획이다. [6,7]의 연구에서는 전송률 증가가 요구되는 되는 경우에 증가량이 가장 적은 프레임을 새로운 전송률 구간의 시작 프레임으로 설정하고, 전송률 감소가 요구되는 경우에 감소량이 가장 큰 프레임을 새로운 구간의 시작 프레임으로 설정하는 스무딩 알고리즘을 제안하고 네트워크 트래픽이 고려되지 않는 환경에서 성능을 평가하였다. 본 논문에서는 [6,7]의 스무딩 알고리즘을 네트워크 트래픽을 고려한 환경에서 E.T 90 비디오 데이터로 512KB부터 32MB까지 최소 재생률, 평균 재생률, 재생률 변화량으로 적응적인 CBA 알고리즘과 성능을 평가한다. 비교 결과, [6,7]의 스무딩 알고리즘은 최소 재생률 비교에서 우수함을 보였다.

고객의 지연보고를 고려한 보증수리내역자료에서의 고장률 추정 (Estimating Failure Rate Using Warranty Claim Data with Delayed Report of Customers)

  • Warranty claim data analysis is a useful tool for the manufacturer because it contains many useful informations regarding reliability of the product in the real-world environments. Because of the nature of uncertainty and the incompleteness of data, some bias patterns are observed on warranty claim rate known as 'spikes'. Two types of spikes are considered. One is due to manufacturing-related failures. The other is caused by customer's behavior. This paper proposes a model by considering two types of spikes. Warranty claim data is analyzed with the proposed model. To represent spikes observed on the early warranty period, we classify failures into manufacturing-related failures and usage-related failures. Uniform distribution is assumed for the time delayed to diagnose and report by customers. By reducing maximum value of the delayed time by customers, the proposed model characterizes customer's rush in the vicinity of the warranty expiration limit. Experimental results by using the real warranty claim data show that the proposed model is better than the existing one in respect to MSE(Mean Squared Error). Moreover it is expected to estimate the failure rate more realistically with proposed model because it considers the delayed time to diagnose and report by customers.

멀티 라디오 애드혹 네트워크에서의 멀티 채널을 이용한 모델 기반 레이트 분할 알고리즘 (A Model-based Rate Separation Algorithm Using Multiple Channels in Multi-Radio Ad Hoc Networks)

  • IEEE 802.11 물리 (Physical) 계층과 MAC (Medium Access Control) 계층은 다수의 채널과 데이터 레이트를 제공한다. IEEE 802.11 멀티 라디오 애드혹 네트워크의 성능을 향상 시키기 위해서는 가용한 채널과 데이터 레이트를 효율적으로 할당해야 한다. 하지만 IEEE 802.11 멀티 레이트 네트워크에서는 낮은 레이트 링크가 높은 레이트 링크에 영향을 미쳐서 네트워크 성능을 심각히 저하시키는 문제인, RA (Rate Anomaly)가 발생한다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 다른 데이터 레이트를 사용하는 링크들을 멀티 채널로 분할시킴으로써 이러한 RA문제를 완화하는 모델 기반 레이트 분할 (Model-based Rate Separation, MRS) 알고리즘을 제안한다. MRS 알고리즘은 IEEE 802.11 싱글 홉 (single-hop) 네트워크의 성능을 측정하는 기존의 성능 모델을 활용하여 낮은 레이트 링크와 높은 레이트 링크를 분산시킨다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 멀티 라디오 애드혹 네트워크에서 MRS 알고리즘이 기존 알고리즘들에 비해 향상된 네트워크 성능을 나타냄을 확인하였다.

스무딩 알고리즘들의 버스트 성능 평가 (Performance Evaluation focused on Burst of Smoothing Algorithms)

  • 버스트는 가변 비트율로 저장된 비디오 데이터를 전송하려는 경우 급격하게 높은 전송률이 요구되는 것으로 네트워크 자원의 비효율적인 사용의 원인이 될 수 있다. 스무딩은 이를 방지하기 위해 가변 비트율로 저장된 비디오 데이터를 고정 비트율로 변환하는 전송 계획을 세우는 기법으로, CBA, MCBA, MVBA 알고리즘들이 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존 CBA, MCBA, MVBA 알고리즘들의 버스트 감소 정도를 평가하기 위해, 가변 비트율로 저장된 비디오 소스와 스무딩 알고리즘에서의 전송 계획을 버스트에 영향을 미치는 요소들로 비교한다. 사용된 평가 요소는 최대 프레임 바이트 수, 최대 GOP 바이트 수, 프레임당 전송률 변화량, GOP당 전송률 변화량이다. 실험 결과, 실험에 사용된 모든 스무딩 알고리즘들의 버스트 관련 평가 요소들이 특정한 경우를 제외하고 원래 비디오 소스보다 낮았다.

환율변동에 따른 의료보험 진료수가의 영향률 산출 - 한 대학병원의 원가분석을 중심으로 - (The Calculation of the Effected Rate in Medical Insurance Fee Schedules according to Fluctuation of Foreign Currency Exchangerate through Cost Analysis in a University Hospital)

  • This study analyzed the effect of foreign currency exchange rate on the increasing rate of medical care cost by items of fee schedule of Korean Medical Insurance. This study uses the data of cost analysis including cost of imported goods and the data of for a university hospital National Federation's Medical Insurance for a trend of claim. The method of cost analysis is as same as that used in the study of the development of Korean RBRVS(Resource Based Relative Valus Scale). The main findings of this study are as follows; 1. The proportion of imported goods in cost related to Medical Insurance fee schedule is 7.93%, and in case of substitution of available domestic goods 6.96%. 2. If foreign currency exchange rate changes from 800wen per $1 to 1,300won, the affecting rate of Medical Insurance fee schedules is 5.00%. If the imported goods will be substituted with available domestic goods, the rate 4.35%. Our results can be used a data for updating Medical Insurance fee schedule. But this result is limited to be generalized, because this study used the cost analysis for a university hospital.

레이더 강우와 지상강우 비교에 대한 임계값의 영향 평가 (Effect of Threshold on the Comparison of Radar and Rain Gauge Rain Rate)

  • In this study, the effect of threshold applied to the radar rain rate on the comparison of the radar and rain gauge rain rate was theoretically examined. The result derived was also evaluated theoretically, using the Bernoulli random field, and empirically, using Mt. Kwanak weather radar data. The results are summarized as follows. (1) In the application to the Bernoulli random field, it was found that the comparison of the radar and rain gauge rain rate with threshold does not introduce any systematic bias. (2) The same results could also be derived in the application to Mt Kwanak weather radar data. In all cases with several radar bin sizes and thresholds considered, the bias was estimated to be far less than 10% of the mean of the rain gauge rain rate. (3) However, in the comparison with threshold applied to both the radar and rain gauge rain rate, the bias was estimated to be higher than 20%. That is, the systematic bias was introduced. This result indicates that the comparison with threshold applied to both the radar and rain gauge rain rate should not be used.

  • With the expansion of research and development for the CIM and the IMS, the importance of introducing the communication network is being increased. This paper presents an implementation of robot workcell by using Fieldbus and investigates data operation of the robot workcell. Through experiments, the operations of periodic and real-time data, and non-periodic real-time data are studied. Also, the relationship between the network transmission rate and the monitoring results from the sensor is analyzed.

  • The PCI 2.2 spec introduces Delayed Transaction mechanism to improve system performance for target device with slow local bus. But this mechanism has some restriction since target device doesn't know prefetch data size. So, we propose a new mechanism, which target device prefetch exact data on local bus, to improve data rate on PCI or local interface. The simulation results showed that the proposed mechanism more improves system performance than the Delayed Transaction mechanism.

Determinants of Real Interest Rates: The Case of Jordan Long-Fei

  • The study is aimed at investigating the main factors that affect the interest rate yields, in the long-term. In addition, the study surveys the theories and literature relating to the determinants of interest rate. The importance of which is essential not only for governments, but also for banks and corporate financial risk management decisions, including risk exposures in banks and capital markets. Interest rate influences corporate profit as well as growth. For this purpose, the study examines the impact of budget deficit, risk-free rate, capital inflows, money supply and business cycles on real interest rate in Jordan. These factors are based upon well-established theories and straightforward practical view as interest rate determinants. Using data for (1990-2015), the study employed Johansen's co-integrating test, which takes into consideration the long-term unsynchronized relationships. The data is tested for normality, symmetric correlations, covariance diagonal and unit root. The results show that the government budget deficit, short-term risk-free interest rate, capital inflows, money supply and business cycle are long-term determinants of the real interest rate in Jordan. The coefficients of government budget deficit, short-term risk-free rate, money supply and business cycle all are inversely affecting the real interest rate, while capital inflows has a positive impact on the real interest rate.
