  • Let F and G denote the distribution functions of the failure times and the censoring variables in a random censorship model. Susarla and Van Ryzin(1978) verified consistency of $F_{\alpha}$, he NPBE of F with respect to the Dirichlet process prior D($\alpha$), in which they assumed F and G are continuous. Assuming that A, the cumulative hazard function, is distributed according to a beta process with parameters c, $\alpha$, Hjort(1990) obtained the Bayes estimator $A_{c,\alpha}$ of A under a squared error loss function. By the theory of product-integral developed by Gill and Johansen(1990), the Bayes estimator $F_{c,\alpha}$ is recovered from $A_{c,\alpha}$. Continuity assumption on F and G is removed in our proof of the consistency of $A_{c,\alpha}$ and $F_{c,\alpha}$. Our result extends Susarla and Van Ryzin(1978) since a particular transform of a beta process is a Dirichlet process and the class of beta processes forms a much larger class than the class of Dirichlet processes.

  • Management policies of Web Proxy Cache, for the QoS of Web users, are mainly focused on the page replacement and the data consistency policy. But the two subjects have been studied independently to each other regardless of its possibility of cooperation. In this paper, we introduce the performance improvement obtained by adapting the characteristic of LMF used in data consistency policy to LRU, thus taking the better performance synergy as a result of complementary cooperation. Various policies for the management of Web Proxy Cache are in progress, this study can be a way of performance guide to increase cache hit ratio and reduce the transmission overhead of Web Server.

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify the opinions of Turkish adolesecent girls and their parents about HPV vaccination and the consistency. Methods: This descriptive study covered 301 girls and their parents. Questionnares were developed by the researchers based on findings within the literature and applied for data collection. Results: The mean age was 19.4 for girls, 44.2 for mothers and 47.9 for fathers. It was found that 43.5 percent of girls and 31.9 percent of mothers wish to be vaccinated against HPV. Also, 45.5 percent of mothers and 44.9 percent of fathers wish for their daughters to be vaccinated against HPV. A moderate consistency was found between mothers and fathers; a low consistency was found between fathers and girls, and between mothers and girls. Conclusions: The study indicates that an appropriate background has been partially provided about the acceptability of the vaccine between parents and their daughters in Turkey. However, the vast majority of adolescent girls and parents are indecisive or reluctant about HPV vaccination. This study also showed that the decisions of adolescents about vaccination may be affected by the opinions of the parents.

  • In client-solver environments, clients can execute applications without contact a server by storing data in its cache. To guarantee correction of applications, we need a cache consistency algorithm. Many cache consistency algorithms have been proposed, these were categorized by detection-based and avoidance-based algorithms. In this paper, we propose a new detection-based cache consistency algorithm that can reduce a burden of a client that has poor resource compare with a server Our method controls concurrency of transactions using timestamp ordering and updates a cache dynamically. In addition to we show that our method maintains a one-copy serializability.

  • Purpose: By integrating multiple separate online, offline distribution channels, omnichannel distribution has modernized and revolutionized the retailing sector. Omnichannel distribution supports firms by delivering seamless shopping experiences for customers throughout all touchpoints of the shopping journey. This paper aims at exploring the impact of channel integration quality on customer experience and patronage intentions in the omnichannel distribution context. Research design, data and methodology: An online survey was taken with 351 omnichannel experienced shoppers by utilizing the structured questionnaire. The partial least square-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) and Smart PLS software were employed to analyze and test proposed hypotheses. Results: The findings reveal that channel integration quality dimensions including breadth of channel-service choice, transparency of channel-service configuration, content consistency, and process consistency, play crucial roles in the customer shopping experience. The perceived compatibility has been influenced by the integrated interactions in which content consistency and process consistency. The findings also demonstrate the positive and direct impact of perceived compatibility on customer experience, and both factors have substantial effects on customers' patronage intentions. Conclusions: This study sheds light on the literature on channel integration quality, omnichannel retailing experience and customer patronage. In addition, this study provides practical implications for omnichannel retailers in enhancing customer experience and patronage.

  • As the mobile environment has been generalized, data synchronization with mobile devices or mobile device and PC/server is required. To deal with the problem, the consortium was established by the companies, such as Motorola, Ericsson, and Nokia, and released SyncML(Synchronization Markup Language) as a standard of industrial area for interoperating with data synchronization and various transmission protocol. But, in synchronization process, when more than two clients requested data synchronization, data conflict can be happened. This paper studies the various conflict reasons that can happen in data synchronization processes and groups them systematically Through the analyzed information, we compose the Change Log Information(CLI) that can keep track of the chased information about synchronization. And we suggest an operation policy using CLI. Finally, we design an algorithm and adapt the policy as a method for the safety and consistency of data.

  • Purpose: Some probiotic strains reduce the duration of acute diarrhea. Because of strain and product specificity, each product needs to be supported by clinical data. This study aimed to test the efficacy of the synbiotic food supplement Probiotical (Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium lactis, Bifidobacterium infantis, fructo-oligosaccharides) in children with acute gastroenteritis of likely infectious origin. The primary endpoint was the number of children with normal stool consistency during the treatment duration. Methods: A total of 46 children (aged 3.6 months to 12 years) with acute gastroenteritis that started less than 48 hours prior to their visit at a hospital-based emergency department were included in this prospective, randomized, placebo-controlled trial. All children were treated with oral rehydration solution and placebo (n=20) or the test product (n=26). Results: Significantly more children had a normal stool consistency on days 1 and 2 in the probiotic group: 5 children (20%) on day 1 in the probiotic group compared with none in the placebo group (p=0.046). On day 2, 11 children in the probiotic group (46%) and 3 (16%) in the placebo group (p=0.024) had a normal stool consistency. The mean duration of diarrhea was shorter in the probiotic group compared with that in the placebo group (3.04±1.36 vs. 4.20±1.34 days) (p=0.018). Conclusion: The test product was shown to normalize stool consistency significantly more rapidly than the placebo. These data confirm the findings from a previous study in a larger group of children performed in a primary healthcare setting.

  • To maintain safety and reliability of reactors, redundant sensors are usually used to measure critical variables and estimate their averaged time-dependency. Nonhealthy sensors can badly influence the estimation result of the process variable. Since online condition monitoring was introduced, the online cross-calibration method has been widely used to detect any anomaly of sensor readings among the redundant group. The cross-calibration method has four main averaging techniques: simple averaging, band averaging, weighted averaging, and parity space averaging (PSA). PSA is used to weigh redundant signals based on their error bounds and their band consistency. Using the consistency weighting factor (C), PSA assigns more weight to consistent signals that have shared bands, based on how many bands they share, and gives inconsistent signals of very low weight. In this article, three approaches are introduced for improving the PSA technique: the first is to add another consistency factor, so called trend consistency (TC), to include a consideration of the preserving of any characteristic edge that reflects the behavior of equipment/component measured by the process parameter; the second approach proposes replacing the error bound/accuracy based weighting factor ($W^a$) with a weighting factor based on the Euclidean distance ($W^d$), and the third approach proposes applying $W^d$, TC, and C, all together. Cold neutron source data sets of four redundant hydrogen pressure transmitters from a research reactor were used to perform the validation and verification. Results showed that the second and third modified approaches lead to reasonable improvement of the PSA technique. All approaches implemented in this study were similar in that they have the capability to (1) identify and isolate a drifted sensor that should undergo calibration, (2) identify a faulty sensor/s due to long and continuous missing data range, and (3) identify a healthy sensor.
