  • This paper presents a neutron detector configuration using EJ-301 scintillation liquid, a R9420 photo-multiplier and a homemade preamplifier. The detector qualities which include the energy linearity, efficiency response and neutron/gamma discrimination are guaranteed for neutron detection in the energy range from 0 to 3000 keVee. Regarding the neutron/gamma discrimination capability, four pulse shape discrimination (PSD) methods which are the threshold crossing time (TCT), pulse gradient analysis (PGA), charge comparison (CC) and correlation pattern recognition (CPR), were evaluated and discussed; among of these, the CPR method provides the best neutron/gamma discrimination.

  • We reviewed the available drosophilid literature and listed any drosophilid species with Vietnamese records. Vietnamese drosophilid flies belong to two subfamilies. In this paper, we provided a taxonomic checklist of 68 nominal species. However, this checklist is based on information of diverse literature, and we have not confirmed identification of each species. In total, the number of drosophilid species in Vietnam amounted to 68 species belong to 16 genera. Drosophilinae consists of 12 genera and 51 species, while Steganinae includes four genera and 17 species. This checklist will be the fundamental base for comprehensive taxonomic research of drosophilid fauna in Vietnam.

  • The purpose of this paper is to (1) evaluate a proposed conceptual model based on integrated Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR); (2) compare the differences between Vietnam and South Korea regarding the effects of consumer perception of CSR activities and technology acceptance on intention to adopt mobile banking. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was conducted to analyze the data collected from the field survey questionnaires administered to a convenience sample of Vietnamese and Korean banking customers. The results showed that there is a difference between South Korea and Vietnam with regard to intention to use mobile banking services. While the effects of social responsibility and environmental responsibility on trust, trust on perceived usefulness, perceived risk on intention to use, perceived usefulness on intention to use were significant in the context of Vietnam but those effects were not significant in South Korea. Therefore, this study has attempted to fill this gap by empirically examining some of the important factors influencing the adoption of m-banking from the Vietnamese and Korean customers' perspectives. Finally, practical and theoretical implications for both banks and researchers in the m- banking context are also discussed in the concluding section.

  • Purpose: Nowadays, café shop chains are becoming a trend and growing rapidly in Vietnam. There are numerous people who spend their time in cafes and this has become part of the current lifestyle. Therefore, cafe chains owners compete in offering new cafe concepts to attract customers and deliver their values to customers effectively. To gain competitiveness and attractiveness, a cafe must possess an interesting servicescape and provide a good impression toward customers in a cafe. Therefore, this study is to evaluate the role of servicescape as an antecedent to service quality and behavioral intentions in the Vietnam market. Research design, data, and methodology: The study was conducted through survey questionnaires who had used the service at coffee shop chains in cities of Vietnam. We apply the PLS-SEM method to analyze data and test hypotheses. Results: Servicescape is a second-order construct including hygiene, space, ambiance, design, and equipment. Servicescape also impacts directly on overall service quality, employee service quality, and behavioral intention. Conclusions: Servicescape plays a role as an antecedent for service quality and behavioral intention. Therefore, it confirms the importance of managing servicescape in order to deliver more value to customers through improving service quality so that enhance intention to return to use services in coffee shop chains.

  • The k0-standardization neutron activation analysis method has successfully determined the mass fraction of elements of interest using around a hundred analytical radionuclides. However, several very short-lived nuclides with half-life less than 100 s have not been used at Dalat research reactor. One of the reasons is that the values of k0-factors of these nuclides are significantly different. Therefore, this work focused on re-determination and evaluation of k0-factors of very short-lived nuclides 110Ag (T1/2 = 24 s) and 46mSc (T1/2 = 18.75 s). The results of determination of the short-lived nuclides revealed that k0-factor of 110Ag is significantly difference between the existing data and the obtained results in this work. The evaluation of the k0-factors was done by using the obtained results for application of k0-NAA for NIST-1566b and NIST-2711A standard reference materials.

  • Development of information and communication technology is changing commerce environment and consumer purchasing behavior has also been changed. Globalization is becoming increasingly prevalent in the world today and many factors such as culture, politics, and economics may influence the applicability of management theories. Concurrently, corporate managers are faced with the challenge of offering usable and useful applications to the local users. Besides, many scholars strongly support that the criteria for M-Commerce adoption in developing countries are different from that of developed countries, due to cultural, security, social, political, economic, and technological aspects. This research tried to investigate the differences on the adoption of mobile commerce between developed and developing countries. In this study, the motivation for studying advanced mobile phone services adoption in the South Korea and Viet Nam is presented. Second, M-Commerce adoption model is introduced as a starting point for the research model. We then integrate price, personal innovativeness, quality dimension and perceived of playfulness into our model. Next, we describe our method and report the results of our analysis. The paper concludes with a discussion of the results from both the South Korea and Viet Nam with implications.

  • Lam Dong Province of Vietnam has an exceptional diversity of orchids and herbs. At least 920 herb species are widely mentioned in Vietnamese traditional medicinal literature and over 239 Lam Dong wild orchid species are used for attention under the Conservation Vietnamese wild orchids projects. In collaboration with Department of Plant Biotechnology, Dongguk University - South Korea working under supported ODA funds from Korea government (MIFAFF), we will consider how to collecting and preserving these plants in situ or conservating in vitro as a genetic resource.

  • In this paper, we prove a necessary optimality theorem for a nonsmooth optimization problem in the face of data uncertainty, which is called a robust optimization problem. Recently, the robust optimization problems have been intensively studied by many authors. Moreover, we give examples showing that the convexity of the uncertain sets and the concavity of the constraint functions are essential in the optimality theorem. We present an example illustrating that our main assumptions in the optimality theorem can be weakened.

  • A total of 36 species and 11 genera of the fly family Lauxanidae have been previously recorded in Korean Peninsula. As a result of our ongoing study of this family, we here report the following nine species new to Korea: Homoneura albomarginata Czerny, 1932, Minettia filia (Becker), 1895, Pachycerina alutacea Shatalkin, 1998, Poecilolycia zherichini Shatalkin, 2000, Protrigonometopus sexlituris (Shatalkin), 1992, Salebrifacies czurkini Shatalkin, 1992, Sapromyza albiceps Fallén, 1820, Steganopsis dichroa Shatalkin, 1998, and Trigonometopus eborifacies Shatalkin, 1997. The genera Poecilolycia Shewell, 1986, Salebrifacies Shatalkin, 1992, and Steganopsis de Meijere, 1910 are recognized for the first time in this country. Therefore, 45 species in 14 genera are now officially recognized for the Korean lauxaniid fauna. In addition, we provide diagnoses and color photographs of adult external structures including male genitalia to aid their specific identification.
