In order to develop "textile electrode - sensing clothing" which is a sort of smart clothing to measure electric activities of heart, we propose possible ways to develop textile electrode and design of sensing clothing, ultimately aiming to develop "ECG sensing clothing for lifestyle monitoring". Conventional sensors for measuring typical electric activities of heart keep certain distance between measuring electrodes to measure signals for electric activities of heart, but these sensors often cause inappropriate factors (e.g. motional artifacts, inconvenience of use, etc) for monitoring natural cardiac activities in our daily life. In addition, most of textile electrodes have made it difficult to collect data due to high impedance and unstable contact between skin and electrodes. To overcome these questions, we minimized distance between electrodes and skin to maximize convenience of use. And in order to complement contact between skin electrodes, we modified textile electrode's form and developed ways to design clothing. As a result, we could find out clinical significance by investigating possible associations of clinical electrocardiogram (ECG) with variation of distance between electrodes, and could also demonstrate clinically significant associations between textile electrode developed herein and clothing.
This study set out to investigate an energy harvesting device to ensure stable energy supply to batteries and data collection devices and a monitoring system for acer pictum sap to check collected data. Acer pictum sap farmers have written down weather information and yield of acer pictum sap manually for data storage. Since the job is done manually, there are many missing values in their data. In addition, it is not easy to manage batteries due to the characteristics of the areas where acer pictum sap is collected. The present study thus decided to build an energy harvesting device based on new renewable energy to ensure stable energy supply by taking into consideration power load, daily power consumption, and number of days with no sunshine for various devices. For a monitoring system, the investigator proposed a JSP-based web page to monitor temperature, humidity, volume of collected water, and battery state in real time. The proposed energy harvesting device was applied to reduce missing values in data. It promoted stable energy supply to the batteries and data collection devices, reducing the percentage of missing values in data from 30.55% to 0%.

Analysis on the temporal variation of the stratification is carried out by using the continuous water temperature and salinity data observed in the coastal monitoring buoy in Mikawa Bay, Japan. The main analysis results are as follows. The stratification pattern have an obvious and dominant 1-year period variation and the occurrence frequency (days) are exponentially decreased as the stratification intensity (SI) defined as the density difference between surface and bottom layers linearly increases. The frequency distribution function of the SI is presumably close to the log-normal function type or exponential function type. From the water temperature and salinity scatter diagram analysis, the line and loop type patterns are shown in the bottom and surface layers, respectively. In addition, the analysis of the SI estimation show that the error bound in case of using the weekly-monitoring data is about 4.45 times greater than that in case of using the continuous (daily) monitoring data.

Generally, a thermistor made by sintering a metal oxide is widely used to measure the ambient temperature. This thermistor is widely used not only for industrial use but also for medical use because of its excellent sensitivity, durability, temperature change characteristics and low cost. In particular, the normal body temperature is 36.9 degrees relative to the armpit temperature, and it is most closely related to the circulating blood flow. Previous studies have shown that body temperature changes during biomechanical changes and body temperature changes by anomalous signs or illnesses. Therefore, in this study, we propose a Lock-In-Amp design to detect minute temperature changes of clothing and thermistor wired by a preacher as a method to regularly measure body temperature in daily life. Especially, it is designed to measure the minute resistance change of the thermistor according to body temperature change even in a low-cost microprocessor environment by using a micro-processor-based Lock-In-Amp, and a jacquard and the thermistor is arranged so as to be close to the side, so that the reference body temperature can be easily measured. The temperature was measured and stored in real time using short-range wireless communication for non - restraint temperature monitoring. A baby vest was made to verify its performance through temperature experiments for infants. The measurement of infant body temperature through the existing skin sensor or thermometer has limitations in monitoring infant body temperature for a long time without restriction. However, it can be overcome by using the embroidery fabric based micro temperature monitoring wireless monitoring device proposed in this study.

In this paper, we propose a pet monitoring system based on deep learning using an activity recognition device. The system consists of a pet's activity recognition device, a pet owner's smart device, and a server. Accelerometer and gyroscope data were collected from an Arduino-based activity recognition device, and the number of steps was calculated. The collected data is pre-processed and the amount of activity is measured by recognizing the activity in five types (sitting, standing, lying, walking, running) through a deep learning model that hybridizes CNN and LSTM. Finally, monitoring of changes in the activity, such as daily and weekly briefing charts, is provided on the pet owner's smart device. As a result of the performance evaluation, it was confirmed that specific activity recognition and activity measurement of pets were possible. Abnormal behavior detection of pets and expansion of health care services can be expected through data accumulation in the future.

Objectives: To identify factors related to physical health monitoring of patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorder. Methods: A total of 172 patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorder registered in mental health welfare centers and rehabilitation facilities in Gwangju were recruited. Physical health monitoring was defined by two health behaviors; fasting blood tests within recent 2 years in all participants and routine medical check-ups covered by national insurance within recent 5 years in participants aged 40 years or older. Demographic and clinical characteristics including overweight, metabolic syndrome and knowledge about physical illness were compared according to physical health monitoring. Results: Prevalence of overweight and metabolic syndrome were 62.8% and 40.1%, respectively. The rates of fasting blood tests and routine medical check-ups were 34.9% and 67.9%, respectively. The rates of fasting blood tests were significantly higher in general hospital and university hospital compared to mental hospital or private clinic. Rates of routine medical check-ups were significantly lower in individuals using daily rehabilitation service and smokers. Knowledge about cancer and chronic illness were significantly better in individuals receiving routine medical check-ups compared with those not receiving it. Conclusion: Education about physical health should be integrated to mental health service in community mental health center.
The average ratio of the daily UV-B to total solar (75) irradiance at Busan (35.23$^{\circ}$N, 129.07$^{\circ}$E) in Korea is found as 0.11%. There is also a high exponential relationship between hourly UV-B and total solar irradiance: UV-B=exp (a$\times$(75-b))(R$^2$=0.93). The daily variation of total ozone is compared with the UV-B irradiance at Pohang (36.03$^{\circ}$N, 129.40$^{\circ}$E) in Korea using the Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer (TOMS) data during the period of May to July in 2005. The total ozone (TO) has been maintained to a decreasing trend since 1979, which leading to a negative correlation with the ground-level UV-B irradiance doting the given period of cloudless day: UV-B=239.23-0.056 TO (R$^2$=0.52). The statistical predictions of daily total ozone are analyzed by using the data of the Brewer spectrophotometer and TOMS in East Asia including the Korean peninsula. The long-term monthly averages of total ozone using the multiplicative seasonal AutoRegressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model are used to predict the hourly mean UV-B irradiance by interpolating the daily mean total ozone far the predicting period. We also can predict the next day's total ozone by using regression models based on the present day's total ozone by TOMS and the next day's predicted maximum air temperature by the Meteorological Mesoscale Model 5 (MM5). These predicted and observed total ozone amounts are used to input data of the parameterization model (PM) of hourly UV-B irradiance. The PM of UV-B irradiance is based on the main parameters such as cloudiness, solar zenith angle, total ozone, opacity of aerosols, altitude, and surface albedo. The input data for the model requires daily total ozone, hourly amount and type of cloud, visibility and air pressure. To simplify cloud effects in the model, the constant cloud transmittance are used. For example, the correlation coefficient of the PM using these cloud transmissivities is shown high in more than 0.91 for cloudy days in Busan, and the relative mean bias error (RMBE) and the relative root mean square error (RRMSE) are less than 21% and 27%, respectively. In this study, the daily variations of calculated and predicted UV-B irradiance are presented in high correlation coefficients of more than 0.86 at each monitoring site of the Korean peninsula as well as East Asia. The RMBE is within 10% of the mean measured hourly irradiance, and the RRMSE is within 15% for hourly irradiance, respectively. Although errors are present in cloud amounts and total ozone, the results are still acceptable.

This paper presents the measurement and analysis results for the cooling performance of ground-coupled heat pump (GCHP) system using a cooling tower as a supplemental heat rejector. In order to demonstrate the performance of the hybrid approach, we installed the monitoring equipments including sensors for measuring temperature and power consumption, and measured operation parameters from May 1 to October 30, 2014. The results showed that the entering source temperature of brine returning from the ground heat exchanger was in a range of design target temperature. Leaving load temperatures to building showed an average value of $11.4^{\circ}C$ for cooling season. From the analysis, the daily performance factor (PF) of geothermal heat pumps ranged from 4.4 to 5.2, while the daily PF of hybrid GCHP system varied from 3.0 to 4.0 over the entire cooling season.

Temporal and horizontal distributions of surface ozone concentrations covering the Busan metropolitan area were simulated by UAM -V (The Variable grid Urban Airshed Model) that was run with meteorological inputs taken from MM5 for ozone episode day (18 July 1999). UAM-V underestimated the daily maximum ozone con-centration about 14 ppb on average at all monitoring sites within Busan area comparing with observed value. but the correlation between observed and simulated values showed quite significant (R = 0.896, p< 0.01 on average). Higher concentrations of ozone occurred near the city center and industrial areas (western side of city) with high levels of anthropogenic source in the morning, and transport of ozone and its precursors by sea breeze developed in the afternoon contributed to elevated ozone levels in downwind rural areas. Particalarly in slightly downwind area of city center, the highest daily maximum ozone concentration ($\geq$120 ppb) was simulated by UAM-V at 1400 LST. Consequently, local environments including emission distributions and land -sea breeze circulation influenced ozone distributions in the Busan metropolitan area.

Surface ozone concentrations measured at 40 monitoring sites in three major cities (Seoul, Busan, and Daegu) of Korea during 1993~2000 were analyzed to understand the characteristics of temporal and spatial distributions. Trends were analyzed for annual mean, 95th percentiles of daily 8-hour maximum and days exceeding 8-h ozone standard of 60 ppb. Three indicators exhibited increasing trends (+0.75 ppb yr$^{-1}$ , +2.20 ppb yr$_{-1}$ , and +5.35 days yr$_{-1}$ on average) throughout the study period at all cities. Diurnal and seasonal variations were the largest in Seoul followed by Daegue and Busan, due to the high photochemical production and titration of ozone (Seoul), strong wind and constant supply of background ozone from the ocean (Busan). In the urban centers and industrial areas at all cities, scavenging of ozone by NO reduces the daily 8-hour maximum ozone by 10 ppb on average. High concentrations of ozone have frequently occurred in downwind eastern (Seoul and Daegu) or northern (Busan) sides of the territory. In particular, the coastal area of Busan had relatively high ozone level due to the local sea land breeze circulation. The results indicated that the temporal and spatial variations of ozone concentration were non -uniform and were closely related to the local environments; emission levels, climates, and geographic locations.
