  • In this paper, we suggest the 3D Vision Inspection Algorithm which is based on the external shape feature, and is able to recognize the object. Because many objects made by human have the regular shape, if we posses the database of pattern and we recognize the object using the database of the object's pattern, we could inspect the objects of many fields. Thus, this paper suggest the 3D Vision inspection Algorithm using the Geometrical Pattern Matching by making the 3D database.

  • 3D object recognition independent of translation and rotation using an ultrasonic sensor array, invariant moment vectors and SOFM(Self Organizing Feature Map) neural networks is presented. Using invariant moment vectors of the acquired 16×8 pixel data of square, rectangular, cylindric and regular triangular blocks, 3D objects could be classified by SOFM neural networks. Invariant moment vectors are constant independent of translation and rotation. The recognition rates for the training and testing data were 95.91% and 92.13%, respectively.

  • The paper presents results of a study on the selective separation technology of ferrous and non-ferrous metals from broken light bulbs. The proposed method is to use magnetic fluids to obtain a magnetic fluid based- separation. [1] The study was conducted using three types of waste materials: regular light bulbs, auto light bulbs and neon tubes. In order to process the waste materials, a six stages technologic flow was developed: a) separation of light bulbs components; b) Physical and chemical analysis of raw materials; c) grain conditioning of the raw material; d) dry magnetic separation of ferrous components; e) magnetic fluid separation of non-magnetic material; f) recovery of the magnetic fluid adhered to the surface of the separated material grains. [2] This study shows that magnetic fluid separation is only profitable for regular and auto light bulbs and is not profitable in the case of neon tubes.

  • The motion of a ship advancing in regular waves is analyzed in the time-domain using the convolution integral of the radiation forces. The memory effect functions and infinite frequency added masses are obtained from the solution of the three dimensional improved Green integral equation in the frequency domain by making use of the Fourier transformation. The ship motions in regular waves have been calculated by both the time and frequency domain methods. It has been shown that they agree very well with each other. The present time-domain method can be used to predict the time histories of unsteady motions in irregular waves. It can also be used to calculate the hydrostatic and Froude-Krylov forces over the instantaneous wetted surface of the ship hull to predict large ship motions, in a practical sense, advancing in large amplitude waves.

  • Three bi-functional reactive dyes such as Bis(vinylsulphone) type, Bis(monochlorotriazine) type and Bis(mononicotinotriazine) type were applied to regular viscose rayon and new regenerated cellulosic fiber ($enVix^ⓡ$) which was prepared from cellulose acetate fiber by the hydrolysis of acetyl groups, and their dyeing properties and fastness properties were compared. enVix exhibited better dyeability and fastness than regular viscose rayon and these results were also explained by the differences in the supramolecular structure of these two fibers.

  • Moir$\acute{e}$s are a natural interference phenomenon which occurs whenever a transparent regular pattern plate is overlapped on another regular pattern plate. In the contact-type 3 dimensional imaging systems, the moires are inherent because an image display panel is seen through a viewing zone forming optical plate. The mathematical analysis of moires in the systems shows that they can be minimized by the proper selection of overlapping angles between them. The angle is different for pixels with different aspect ratios.

  • There are two representative geometry rendering methods. One is Geometry Clipmaps, another is ROAM 2.0. We propose an extended Geometry Clipmaps algorithm which does not focus on CPU operation but the GPU for faster and wider visibility area. The extended algorithm presents mesh configuration method of each level by LOD, how to configurate Mesh network between levels, mesh block method for rendering optimization using VFC, and image mapping method to get high resolution up to 1 m.

  • The present paper gives numerical results of 2-D hydrodynamic forces on twin cylinders oscillating on a free surface in a deep water. The singularity distribution method is applied to determine a stream function. Based on the 2-D results the vertical motion responses of a catamaran model(ASR 5061) moving in regular head seas are estimated by using Ordinary Strip Method(O.S.M.). Numerical results show in general good agreements with Jones' theoretical and experimental results except those the resonance frequency.

  • Target motion analysis with a sonar system in general uses a regular sampling time and thus obtains regular target information regardless of the target maneuver status. This often results in overconsumption of the limited sonar resources. We propose two methods of the IMM(interacting Multiple Model) PDAF algorithm for sonar resource management to improve target motion analysis performance and to save sonar resources in this paper. In the first method, two different process noise covariance which are used as mode sets are combined based on probability. In the second method, resource time which are processed from two mode sets is calculated based on probability and then considered as update time at next step. Performance of the proposed algorithms are compared with the other algorithms by a series of Monte Carlo simulation.

  • This paper addresses a fundamental and theoretical model for the shape of a cucumber and its human-oriented proper definition of length and curvature in order to sort cucumbers electronically. In addition, we design a T-shaped array of sensors to minimize the number of sensors and the processing number of A/D(Analog/Digital) conversions, and we analyze regular patterns of a series of 1's and 0's which are converted from an A/D module. Finally we suggest an algorithm for measuring the length and curvature providing a rule from the regular patterns. The methodology suggested in this paper could be applied to electronical classification of some crops and fruits such as tomatoes, apples, and so on, and can be a basis for developing other sorting machines.
