선박엔진의 실린더 라이너의 손상 진단을 위한 진동 분석법 (Vibration Analysis for Failure Diagnosis of Cylinder Liner of Large Ship Engine)

  • Damage to the cylinder liner of large ship engines, such as scuffing on the surface, can occur very easily because it is operated in a corrosive environment. This scuffing may be due to oil film destruction and corrosive wear caused by water and sulfur included in the fuel, abrasive impurities, and poor lubricants. Thus, a method for monitoring the condition and diagnosing the failure of the cylinder liner and piston ring is needed. In this study, a reciprocating friction and wear test was carried out with a cast iron specimen, which simulated an engine cylinder in a corrosive atmosphere. The lubricants used were base oil, stirred oil with distilled water, a NaCl solution, and dilute sulfuric acid. The friction coefficient and frequency spectrum were measured using a load cell and acceleration sense in each experimental condition. We then used these results to diagnose the failure of the cylinder liner.

디이젤기관의 방열에 관한 연구 (A study on the heat dissipation of diesel engine)

  • This paper presents the variations obtained in heat flow rate and engine performance of a four-stroke cycle Diesel engine when there were changes in the temperature of cooling water, compression ratio, injection timing of fuel, and other factors. Heat dissipation of engine cylinder was calculated by the heat transfer coefficient of Nusselt's empirical equation and the analysis of distribution of temperature in cylinder barrel was obtained by the finite element method of two-dimensional steady state heat conduction. In this experiment, the out side temperature of cylinder liner was measured by the data logger, and the temperature distribution of liner was computed by the analysis of triangular finite element model under the assumption due to surface heat flux of cylinder inner surface. The results obtained by this study are as follows. Under the given operating condition, the temperature distribution of cylinder liner by using finite element method shows that the mean temperature of barrel is in accordance with the experimental results of Eichelberg and temperature difference is lower than 4.23.deg. C. The heat dissipation of engine decrease in accordance with the decrease of piston mean velocity, compression ratio, and the increase of coolant temperature. Influence on the delay of injection timing of fuel brings about the decrease of heat rejection over the cylinder at constant test conditions.

열해석을 이용한 가스 실린더 캐비닛의 내화성능 최적설계 (Optimum Design on Fire Resistance of Gas Cylinder Cabinets using Thermal Analysis)

  • 특정 고압가스 등을 사용하기 위해 배관과 안전장치 등이 일체로 구성된 가스 실린더 캐비닛은 화재 발생 시 고온의 열로 인한 급격한 압력상승으로 실린더 폭발 및 파편 비산 등의 위험성을 가지고 있다. 이러한 위험성은 용기 내부에 충전된 가스의 유출을 초래하여 중독, 질식 등의 2차 피해를 발생시킬 가능성이 크므로 내부 용기로 인한 피해를 줄이기 위해서는 가스 실린더 캐비닛의 내화성능 확보가 매우 중요하다. 국외의 경우 가스 실린더 캐비닛이 화염에 노출되는 상황에서 일정 시간동안 내부의 실린더를 보호할 수 있도록 미국 NFPA code, 유럽 EN-14470-2 등에서 가스 실린더 캐비닛 내화시험 기준을 규정하고 있다. 하지만 국내의 경우 내압성능과 기밀성능 기준만 명시되어 있고, 그 대상은 배관계로 한정되어 있으며 국외보다 가스 실린더 캐비닛의 내화성능을 위한 연구 및 규정이 미흡한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 국내 가스 실린더 캐비닛의 내화성능 기준 확립을 위해 유한요소해석 프로그램인 ANSYS를 이용하여 열해석을 수행함으로써 화재 발생 시 구조, 재질 측면에서의 최적 조건을 도출하고자 한다.

단안 구면 끝점검사의 반복성 검증 (Repeatability of Monocular Spherical Endpoints Test)

  • 목적: 검영법, MPMVA법(maximum plus maximum visual acuity), 적녹이색법, 크로스실린더법의 단안 구면 끝점검사 반복성을 분석하고자 하였다. 방법: 평균연령 23.0세의 남녀 20명(40안)을 대상으로 4가지 검사법(검영법, MPMVA법, 적녹이색법, 크로스실린더법)으로 끝점 구면굴절력을 측정하였다. 일주일 간격으로 재검사를 실시하고 Bland-Altman plot 분석을 이용하여 검사-재검사 간 반복성을 분석하였다. 결과: 각 검사법의 검사-재검사 평균은 검영법이 가장 적은 -0.03 D이었고, 적녹이색법이 가장 큰 -0.19 D이었다. 검사-재검사의 95% 일치도 상/하한선은 검영법이 가장 좁았고 크로스실린더법이 가장 넓었다. 각 검사안의 검영법 끝점값과 다른 세 검사법의 끝점값을 비교하였을 때 전체 검사안의 ${\pm}0.25$ D 이내 오차 비율은 MPMVA법 85%, 적녹이색검사 80%, 크로스실린더법 24%로 나타났다. 결론: 검영법의 반복성이 가장 높았으며, 검영법, MPMVA법, 적녹이색법은 단안 구면 끝점검사를 위한 적합한 검사법으로 나타났다.

팽창실과 파퍼 실린더의 배열형태에 따른 복합소호 모델 가스차단부의 열적회복특성 비교 (Comparison of Thermal Recovery Characteristics of Hybrid Type Model Gas Interrupters According to the Arrangement of Thermal Expansion Chamber and Puffer Cylinder)

  • In this study, the three type hybrid interrupters according to the arrangement of the thermal expansion chamber and the puffer cylinder(they are called 'serial type', 'parallel/exchanged type', and 'parallel/separated type' respectively in this work) were designed and manufactured. This paper presents the tested results of the thermal recovery characteristics on the interrupters using a simplified synthetic test facility. The 'serial type' hybrid interrupter which is to obtain more easily the pressure rise for the thermal recovery compared with the others has the best capability in the thermal recovery characteristics. In order to investigate the stress on the operating mechanism, the distortion of the stroke wave in on-load test was examined to the stroke curve in no-load test. The biggest distortion was occurred in the 'parallel/exchanged type' hybrid interrupter. Finally, the small interruption capability on the three type interrupters was estimated by a theoretical form and the 'parallel/separated type' hybrid interrupter has the advantage of the others in the view of structure.

  • In our study, Monitoring RF System in real-time on leakage of gas cylinder is developed. The system is consisted of Pressure Transmitting part, Main Controller and Operating program. The pressure data of gas cylinder are transmitted to the modem of main controller part by RF module of Pressure Transmitting part and the data received through the modem are recorded in real-time and showed the situation of gas cylinder on the PC monitor. Through the test on the case of the artificial pressure-reduction, the detecting performance. of the developed system is conformed.

  • 복합재 압력용기는 높은 비강성과 비강도 그리고 내피로성으로 수소연료전지자동차와 천연가스자동차에 사용된다. 이음매가 없는 일체형 라이너를 갖는 복합재 압력용기는 고강도 탄소섬유와 에폭시 레진으로 라이너 전체를 감싼다. 본 연구에서는 구조적으로 취약한 너클 부위와 압축잔류응력을 고려하여 필라멘트 와인딩 패턴과 자긴압력 설계 기법을 제시하였다. 복합재 압력용기 시제품에 대한 압력반복시험을 통해 제안된 방법을 검증한다.

  • The objective of study on composite cylinder for alternative fuel vehicle is to develop safe, efficient, and commercially viable, on-board fuel storage system for the fuel cell vehicle or natural gas vehicle that use highly compressed gaseous fuel such as hydrogen or natural gas. This study presents the whole procedure of development and certification of a type 3 composite cylinder of 207bar service pressure and 70 liter water capacity, which includes design/analysis, processing of filament winding, and validation through various testing and evaluation. Design methods of liner configuration and winding patterns are presented. Three dimensional, nonlinear finite element analysis techniques are used to predict burst pressure and failure mode. Design and analysis techniques are verified through burst and cycling tests. The full qualification test methods and results for validation and certification are presented.

  • The fluidic muscle cylinder consist of an air bellows tube, flanges and lock nuts. It's features are softness of material and motion, simplicity of structure, low production cost and high power efficiency. In this study, we carried out the finite element modelling and analysis about the main design variables such as contraction ration and force, diameter increment of fluidic muscle cylinder. On the basis of finite element analysis, the prototype of fluidic muscle cylinder was manufactured and tested. Finally, we compared the results between the test and the finite element analysis.

  • The unbalance of the power output, noise, and vibration is happened by the disproportionate pressure variation in the cylinder. For this reason, decrease of the pressure in the cylinder and increase of the residual gas effect on the engine performance. If the abnormal combustion is continued, the crack would be occurred in the engine block. And it could be broken down. For the normal combustion of the SI engine, it is important to supply the balanced mixture by each operating condition. In this study, it was tested the combustion characteristics in the cylinder according to the abnormal adjusting of intake & exhaust valve. This test is willing to set a basic data's analysis fur developing an automotive diagnosis system by analyzing the pressure in the cylinder, the output signal of MAP sensor, the exhaust gas, etc.
