  • This work was undertaken to study the effect of stigmatic and cut-style pollination on self seed set in Lilium longiflorum and L. ${\times}$ formolongi, and their crosses as the female parent with other cultivars/genotypes. Stigmatic pollination of L. longiflorum cv. Gelria and Lorina resulted in cent per cent fruit set with mean number of seeds/fruit of 189 and 70, respectively. However, cut-style pollination resulted in 87% and 40% fruit set in Gelria and Lorina, respectively. The corresponding mean number of seeds/fruit was 53 and 20. In L. ${\times}$ formolongi, stigmatic pollination set 80% fruits with 736 seeds/fruit. On the other hand, cut-style pollination resulted in 47% fruit set with 81 seeds/fruit. The intraspecific stigmatic pollination of L. longiflorum cv. Gelria and Lorina with other cultivars formed 60% fruits with a mean number of 18 seeds/fruit. However, only 20% fruit set with mean number of seeds/fruit of 7 was recorded when cut-style pollination of L. longiflorum cultivar were pollinated with other cultivars/genotypes. In the intraspecific pollination of L. ${\times}$ formolongi cv. Raizan with Novia, fruit set resulting from stigmatic and cut-style pollination was 75% and 50%, respectively with the corresponding mean number of seeds/fruit of 579 and 98. It was concluded that self as well as intraspecific seed set in the two species of Lilium gets considerably reduced as a result of cut-style pollination.

  • This study is an attempt to analyze the changes and morphological analysis of the one length hair style of women in the Imperial Japanese colonial period, and the purpose of this study is to analyze the components of hair design such as shape, texture, and color based on the precedent and the book and to make possible various styles of one length hair style cut. From the results of this study, one length hair style showed the outline shape with no step height of cut length, natural hair texture and natural hair color in 1910s to 1920s. In the 1930s, the one length hair style showed a slight cut length step height and a slight discoloration using a diamond shape, a narrow wave of natural texture, hydrogen peroxide or oxygenated water. In the 1940s, one length hair style did not find any singularity to pursue brilliant beauty(美) in terms of form, texture, and color. This study may enable a deep and detailed follow up study on one length hair style, and will be a cornerstone for the development of basic data of hair beauty education and trend of new mode.

For Michelle Obama's hair styles by length, a medium-short cut style was expressed in various ways to show her strong will by exposing the forehead, an elegant image by asymmetry hair, or a progressive image by a short volume hair cut. A medium cut style expressed an elegant and intelligent image in shoulder-length and a trendy image using a side parting. A updo hair style produced young, womanly, and casual images using twisting, binding, typing up, and rolling technique according to situations. For hair styles associated with her roles, when participating as a diplomatic delegate, she expressed the President's helpful partner by a soft and womanly image using bobbed hair and half updo technique. First of all, she mainly had a neat style, exposing her forehead in official schedules as a political partner to create an intelligent and high-class image. Second, she expressed a strong will with a medium-short style during an election campaign. Finally, she showed an elegant and refined hair style in consideration of T.P.O. during social activity. • We studies seed set in the interspecific F1 /backcross hybrids of Lilium species. In the interspecfic hybrid of L. longiflorum cv. Gelria with L.${\times}$ fomolongi cv. Raizan,93% fruit set was obtained by stigmatic pollination in comparison to 53% from cut-style pollination. Accordingly, the number of seed set resulting from stigmatic and cut-style pollination was 147 and 53, respectively. Pollination o( both stigmatic and cut-style pollination resulted in 47% fruit set in the hybrid of L. longiflorum cv. Lorina with L.${\times}$ fomolongi cv. Raizan. However, stigmatic pollination formed 413 seeds, whereas only 24 seeds were obtained by cut-style pollination in this cross. The hybrid of L.${\times}$ fomolongi cv. Raizan with L. longiflorum cv. Come set 40% fruit with a total of 43 seeds by stigmatic pollination. However, no fruit set was observed in cut-style pollination in this hybrid. Backcrossing the F1 hybrid by cut-style pollination of L. longiflorum cv. Lorina ${\times}$ Asiatic hybrid cv. Chicago with the latter parent led to 53% fruit set, and 109 embryos were obtained. Likewise, backcrossing following cut-style pollination of L. longiflorum cv. Lorina ${\times}$ Asiatic hybrid cv. Corsia with the latter parent formed 67% fruits and 107 embryos. However, in the remaining interspecific hybrids, cut-style pollination set no fruit.

  • To develop Korean-style cut noodles with enhanced protein and calcium levels, we manipulated the ratio of dried anchovy Engraulis japonicus soup base residue powder to wheat flour, using a response surface methodology based on trained panel trials to determine the optimum ratio. Texture analysis and nutritional evaluation were also performed on cut noodles containing dried anchovy soup base residue (CNAR). Higher umami taste and springiness, and lower fishy flavor were strongly correlated with overall acceptability. The optimal CNAR formulation consisted of wheat flour (96.02 g), anchovy residue powder (2.67 g), and water (50.64 mL). CNAR had lower gumminess and adhesiveness (P<0.001), but higher springiness, cohesiveness (P<0.001), and chewiness (P<0.05), than the control (original wheat flour cut noodles). The addition of anchovy soup base residue elevated protein, lipid, and ash levels relative to the control. Color values decreased with increasing residue powder content. In vitro protein and starch digestibility of CNAR were lower than in the control (P<0.001). CNAR yielded significantly higher total free amino acid content than the control (P<0.01), leading to CNAR's improved palatability. Dried anchovy soup base residue can be used in wheat flour cut noodles to improve nutrition, sensory acceptability, and profitability.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the hair style, and perceiver's generation on the perception of a high schoolgirl's image. A quasi-experimental method by questionnaire was used. The subjects were 253 high schoolgirls and their mothers living in Jinju. The data were analyzed by using frequency, factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha-reliability coefficient, three-way ANOVA, and Duncan's multiple ranges test. The high schoolgirl's image was derived in five dimensions by factor analysis: schoolgirl look, prettiness, individuality, activeness, and cuteness. In the image based on the hair length, it was assessed that the short cut and the bobbed hair styles looked more like school girls. And the short cut and long hair styles were considered as showing individuality. On the other hand, the bobbed hair style was assessed as cuter than styles of other lengths. For the bangs, the short bangs were found to more school-girl look and cuter than the long bangs. The mother group, whose ages were older than that of the other group, evaluated that the stimulative pictures had more school-girl look, individuality, prettiness, activeness and cuteness, compared to how the school girl group evaluated. It was shown that the generation gap produced different opinions about the stimulative pictures. Therefore hair style, bangs style, and difference in generations were found to be the variables affecting perception of high school girl image.
