  • Power system is composed of a number of power devices and equipment. This factor affects the power quality is also displayed very complicated and varied. The accurate measurement and analysis of the causes of power quality problems is difficult. In preparing for these issues, there are many difficulties. In this study, Power quality of A public establishment of Chungbuk province were measured and analyzed. Measurement results of the fifth harmonic current was very large. Accordingly, the harmonic reduction will be needed. This research will be utilized as fundamental data to improve power quality for power utility and customer.

  • 본 논문에서는 전력시장가격(SMP, SYstem Marginal Pricing, 이하 SMP)이 급등하여 발전비용이 증가할 경우, Utility의 신호에 의해 전력사용을 줄이거나 소비량이 낮은 시간대로 이동을 유도함으로써 전력소비자의 패턴을 바꾸도록 유도하는 상시수요관리에 있어서, 전력소비자의 기저부하(CBL, Customer Baseline Load, 이하 CBL) 산정 방법에 관하여 기술한다. 제안하는 방법은 현재 KEPCO에서 시행하고 있는 상시수요관리에 대해 소개하고, 전력소비자의 CBL산정방법을 제시하고, 실제 적용된 정확도를 분석하고 그 결과를 제시하였다.

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate properly reliability of underground distribution system taking into account domestic circumstance. Interruption time and number of interruption customer by distribution system based on actual condition in domestic utility are considered as important index to estimate reliability of underground distribution system. This paper presents algorithm to evaluate reliability of underground distribution system by using a model system as new urban area. Evaluation results which is established are shown in detail according to whether automatic system is introduced or not.

  • This paper presents an optimal operating strategy of distributed generation (DG) with reliability worth evaluation of distribution systems. Using DG for peak-shaving unit could reduce the overall system operating cost, and using DG for standby power unit could reduce the customer interruption cost. If DG operating cost is less than utility power cost in peak time, DG should be running to reduce the overall system operating cost. When customer interruption cost enlarges, however, standby power strategy may be the better operating strategy than peak-shaving strategy. Selection of whether DG should be operated for peak-shaving or for standby power, needs the accurate reliability worth evaluation and the accurate power cost evaluation. Instead of using annual average reliability worth, the concept of hourly reliability worth is introduced in this paper to determine the optimal operating decision of DG. Applying suggested hourly reliability worth, the distribution companies that possess DG could set up the optimal operating strategy of DG.

  • Holonic manufacturing systems have been recently presented to meet the various needs of customer rapidly. Holonic manufacturing systems consist of several holons which may perform decision making for the achievement of their objectives. Holonic manufacturing systems are characterized by cooperation and negotiation among holons. The problem of conflict can be occurred during communication between holons. Then the negotiation is required for the holons. This paper deals with a mathematical model for the mediation of negotiation between holons in the holonic manufacturing systems. In this paper an evaluation function for mediation is modeled using the utility function.

  • It is known that Reliability Differentiated Pricing (RDP) can improve the efficiency and benefits of consumers and producers. This paper examines the long-run social welfare maximization problem of the utility and presents a long-term reliability differentiated prices for firm capacity, based on customer outage costs. Then the applicability of the proposed pricing scheme is verified with a case study.

  • Voltage sags are the most widespread quality issues affecting distribution systems. This paper describes in some detail the voltage sag characteristics due to different types and locations of fault in a practical low voltage power distribution system encountered in the UK. The results not only give utility engineers very useful information when identifying parts of the system most likely to pose problems for customer equipments, but also assist the facility personnel to make decisions on purchasing power quality mitigation equipment.

  • There have been public attraction and studies about distributed generation systems. But protective relay must be installed between utility system and customer owned distributed generation system has not been developed. So this paper describes the development of a digital protective relay for interconnection. The developed protective relay includes protective elements required by KEPCO at the interconnection point.

  • This paper introduce an algorithm for service restoration in electric power distribution systems. Power utility performs service restoration in order to restore out-of-service areas at fault. Developing effective service restoration program is a cost-effective approach to improve service reliability and to enhance customer satisfaction. The main objective in service restoration program is to restore as much load as possible by transferring de-energized loads via network reconfigurations to other supporting distribution feeders without violating operating and engineering constrains.

  • This study explores the attributes of the on-line shopping products and prices, and their effects on the customer satisfaction. In doing so, the sample population has been segmented according to their shopping propensity of consumption on clothing to understand the group differences. Based on the previous researches, the researcher have chosen four important characteristics of the customer's shopping propensity. The number of iteration on factor analysis revealed that the sample population can be classified into three different groups; the convenience/pleasure-seeking group, the fashion/utility-seeking group, and the unconcerned group. The significant group differences resulted on the following study variables; the product assortment, the price rationality, and the value of the price. Also, from the product aspect, the characteristic, the assortment, and the expression in order, explained the significant portion of the Y variance. While, on the aspect of price, the rationality, and information in order, significantly contributed on the customer satisfaction.
